Made it back at Brickside. Food menu is great, service has really improved. A must try if you're in Delano and looking for something a notch above a standard Burger joint.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I stopped in with a friend for lunch on a Saturday and we each decided on a salad and that we'd share a side of Parmesan fries (pro tip: always order a side of fries, especially these fries, they were seasoned perfectly). At first this place was giving 5 star energy with super easy street parking right in front, getting seated immediately, booth seating preference was granted, super positive and competent server, and waters were brought over right away. Our server Jessica gets a 5/5 in my book - attentive, excellent recommendations, fun and personable! But... I think our food took 30+ mins to show up. There weren't that many people in the restaurant so we were confused what could be taking so long for a couple salads. I guess if the kitchen was running behind I would have appreciated a heads up or possibly the fries coming out sooner? My friends steak house salad came without dressing, when we pointed it out, our server mentioned that the kitchen often misses that. I thought the plating and presentation was lacking. Yes, they're just salads, but I thought the place was nicer than to literally throw a salad on a plate. I think even the bowl was better but I felt like I was eating at a cafeteria the way it was presented. I think a tiny bit nicer serving plates could do a lot for this place. This place was clean, and I did enjoy the huge windows allowing for a ton of natural light. I would like to try this establishment again, possibly for dinner as it looks like the dining room could be nice in dark lighting as well. I also heard they have live music here. Our food was fine, filled the void for lunch. Service, perfect. Wait for salads was annoying. Easy payment with QR code on bill.

Mac n cheese with bacon with the steak add on option

Stopped for dinner by myself. It was quiet with wonderful warm ambiance. Felt welcomed and appreciated as a guest. Great selection of food, especially for foodies. Server was wonderful, attentive without being annoying. Very good at her job. I really wanted the NY strip but it was a 14 oz serving! Yikes! Full bar with signature cocktails and happy hour deals. The roasted brussel sprout app is a must. I ordered Mac n cheese with bacon then added steak. It's homemade so the cheese flavor is mild. Only downside is side is, it's a bit bland. Pricing is average, but a bit high for this area. I still loved it! Make reservations as they are often very busy with a 15-45 min wait. You can order on line to go too.

Britt and/or Tara provided excellent service. She let my brother pick up the tab which was a double-bonus!

The restaurant looks very fresh and new with modern decor. Hands down the best walleye I have had. The breading was light and very flavorful. It had a delicious light sauce that it was sitting in that made it literally melt in your mouth. The mashed potatoes are already seasoned to perfection so no extra seasonings needed. My husband sand his sandwich with as delicious but agreed my fish was 12/10!

It is quite small inside and is definitely not suitable for large groups. I also felt the seating prioritized style over comfort. This is your typical millennial trendy burger joint that serves water with no ice in a small glass, has higher prices for the portions you are getting, and seems to just have one or two people working. Service was a little slow as it picked up around dinner time. For food, I got the dry rub wings and mac n cheese. My friend got a burger and chips and queso. The food is pretty good. I liked the wings, they had quite a kick to them, and the fries and queso were good. I was not impressed with the mac n cheese. Since Rockford is a small town, I am sure this place fills a void with the limited options they have but I also don't need to return.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

Wow, this place was cool!…read more The entry is pretty hidden and parking requires a bit of work unless you do valet. We went on a Saturday night, so we had to wait a bit in order to be seated. However, it was worth the wait for us. There is a dark moody vibe and while my group went in for drinks, there are also options for food. The place itself is pretty loud - both with music and talking, so maybe not the best location for a first date. The drinks are expensive, but the experience was worthwhile for us. I enjoyed the meditteránea. I'll very likely be back! What a neat spot.
