I'm not a fan of atlanta and tend to stay away from the city due to traffic, but I will make the drive to come back for their bread bowls. The bread bowls have cheese melted in them that adds flavor to the soup you order. Their bread bowls were even soft enough to enjoy after you were done with the soup. I also ordered the Tomato basil pasta and for $8 dollars I had a meal for lunch and enough to save for dinner. Not only that, the flavors were delicious. They don't skimp on the chicken neither, I had nice large chunks of chicken mix with the pasta. The owner was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, since he was the only one there it did take about 20 minutes to get our food but it was worth it and honestly we ordered a lot. If you don't mind old buildings and walking down some semi sketch roads do yourself a favor and check them out. read more

Why, hello cute little place I somehow have been walking by for years now without walking in. Why haven't I walked into you before? Gosh, I'm glad I did today. You're small but charming. I like your window bar seating in front where you can people watch the folks on Broad. But I especially like your stairs up to the cute little loft with a similar bar setting that lets you look out over the deli counter and fellow patrons. That's where we sat today. (psst! there are other little tables up here too.) I have a feeling you're more of a take-away sort of place based on space alone, but at lunchtime on a weekday, you were still fine and we weren't over-crowded. Your food is fresh and scrumptious. I chose your lunch trio special which was a cup of soup, a half a sandwich, and a choice of a pasta and Caesar salad all for only $9. (There's the lunch duo option of two of the choices for only $7 as well.) Wow! What a deal! And SO much food. I chose your French dip, tomato basil soup and Caesar salad. My friend had your roast beef on a croissant, French onion soup, and Caesar salad. Heck, yes, we sampled each other's food and everything you have here is so very good. Well done, little BrickStone Cafe. If you're downtown for work, play or school, definitely stop in and give them a try. Like I mentioned, I've walked by so many times, mainly because it's easy to miss. Just keep an eye out for the big "Majestic Shoe Repairing" sign (that's hard to miss!) and BrickStone will be right there underneath it. It's a cheap spot that students frequent. But expect the quality to reflect the price. Tried this place twice and both were alright, I'm not too picky with what I eat just gotta be edible and somewhat tasty. Chicken alfredo was saucy and I kind of enjoyed. No complaints here! I really enjoyed my meal. I honestly believe the bread alone could get a separate (5 star) review. It was that good. There were plenty of options on the menu, so selecting something good was not a problem. The sauce was the right consistency and it stuck to the noodle. It wasn't that watery mess that splashed everywhere. Also, there was a good amount of chicken. They weren't stingy with it! The seasoning wasn't bad although I do enjoy a more robust profile than what was present at this particular dish. There was a little bit of a wait for the food, but I didn't see that as a problem. Considering the sandwiches are made to order, it wouldn't do well to have the food sitting under a heat lamp all morning waiting for the next customer. That's just...no. And fortunately, that's not the case here. I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu. The prices are affordable with most items coming in under $10. Further, the portions are such that one meal should be sufficient although obviously, YMMV. I'll be back and, as was the case with Cafe Delight*, I'll be sure to bring my coworkers. *i work in an office with at least twenty people and we have all of downtime to choose from as far as meals AND I'm a student at GSU. The people who work there are sweet, and the food came out relatively quick. One thing was that some of the turkey melt we got was very cold-- how does that happen because the cheese was melted on top and the bread was warm? The parts that weren't were absolutely delicious but definitely a star off because that was an unpleasant surprise. Anyone who Knows me, Knows that I love a good clean and healthy meal. That is the OPPOSITE of taste experienced here at BrickStone Cafe. I came to dine in for lunch on June 5th and was one visit away from Grady Hospital. That is, if I did not know how raw roast beef looked. I was eager to try this roast beef sandwich for $7.50 that did not include a drink nor side item. However, all places price their items differently. Thats fair enough. Moreover, I later found the manager was also the chef. This gentleman prepared this sandwich for me in about 6 mins. Two songs on my phone played and my order was up. I was appalled to find raw roast beef, cold-un melted cheese before me. Before approaching the kitchen with this concern, i checked my sources online in regards to cooked roast beef. The beed before me, was DEFINITELY UN COOKED. The chef deliberately prepared this sandwich without cooking the roast beef. When i approached him with this concern, he stated "you think you so smart, do u want it warmed again or not?" I said "sir, allow me to take the meat and cheese off and u can warm that up." He "immediately reached for the entree and stated he would take care of it." The kitchen is clearly visible in this place. I watched him place the entire sandwich (including the bread, sauces, and tomatoes) in a cooking sheet. At this point, I said "sir, it is ok!" "I would just like a refund." He stated "No, I do not give refunds! U can have it made over and THAT IS IT or u can leave." I was not going anywhere. I called the cops. I realized after the cops arrived that this was not a criminal act. In this event, I successfully disputed my concern and charge with my bank that ended in a reimbursement and a REMINDER that YELP reviews help others around the world, so why not keep my colleagues and community safe with sharing my experience. As a GSU student, there have been times when I crave pasta on campus, and there was nothing close by. This place was the answer to my prayers. They have pasta, hot & cold sandwiches, soups, salads, and hot stuffed pizzas. Their bread is made fresh - in house. My favorite is the chicken alfredo pasta, and the toasted turkey sandwich. They serve ample portions and the prices are very reasonable, cheaper than most restaurants on the street. $6 for a Sandwich, and $7 Pasta... you get more bang for your buck. A smoked turkey melt, french dip, or a pesto chicken balsamic sandwich, doesn't compare to your regular sub at Subway or Rueben's deli. BrickStone Cafe is savory, fresh, and satisfying. "Italian" cafe in downtown Atlanta. The cashier was friendly, but the food is basically Subway, but served in environmentally unfriendly styrofoam. Is it 1999 or 2019? Styrofoam is illegal in progressive cities. My "chicken rosemary" sandwich, served on wheat after I requested white, was edible, but there was no taste of rosemary, just a heavy taste of balsamic -- perhaps they made the wrong sandwich? There is no bathroom or sink available for customers here, despite a large sit-down area, so bring hand sanitizer and don't drink too much water, I guess? Sooo, they put my food in the microwave. I've only been here a few times but, I don't remember my food EVER being put in the microwave. I walked in at 5:20 (they close at 6pm) and I was the only guest in the restaurant. I ordered a shrimp alfredo, tomato basil soup, and garlic bread. The soup came out of a pan in their hot table and the bread came out of the convection oven behind him. However, for my alfredo, he placed the pasta in the to-go tray, spooned the sauce over it, and popped it in the microwave. (I didn't see if he put the shrimp over it before or after he put it in the microwave.) Now, the shrimp alfredo was only $10 so, I wasn't expecting superior quality but, whether I'm paying $10 or $10,000, I don't want you to microwave my fucking food. At the time of this review they have only been open for about a month and their food score was 100A. The interior was bright and clean and a nice loft upstairs. The place is relatively new, but I was looking for a snack, and I saw some french dips being advertised outside. I was pulled in with the dip and cheese glazed bread; I anticipated a small portion, but boy did it surprise me when it was a giant sandwich. The dip is soup-like with a bold and memorable taste. Simply biting into the sandwich is enough to bring an euphoric wave of food-induced satisfaction over your starving stomach. Best consumed with chocolate milk on the cheap! Most of the food is freshly prepared. I highly recommend their pizzas. They are better then Rosa's IMO. The chicken cesar salad is okay. I feel like it's overpriced for what you get. It has a weird texture to me.This place can be crowded around lunch time. Expect a 10-15 minute wait during peak times. If you do decide to order the pizza, make sure that you have enough time to wait for it because it's cooked to order. They were both delicious. I'd also like to mention that you can get pesto sauce added on the pizza for free, which adds a great flavor. The hours are similar to other restaurants around broad street, so not late night dinners. There is pretty much always a line when I go in, however the staff works through it pretty quickly. There is seating inside and outside of restaurant, and it can get pretty noisy during the day. Overall one of my favorite place. read more

OK seriously this place is such a gem! I use to pass it everyday and never stumbled in here until recently and I'm so glad I did. It's right downtown off of broad street so GSU students consider this a PSA. They have awesome lunch combos that will keep you AND your wallet full. A half sandwich (which is huge btw, think a 6" at subway) plus half salad or soup for $7!? Sold. It takes a few minutes because the sub's are made and toasted fresh but its no more then 5 or 6 minutes. I personally don't eat meat so I always get the roasted veggie sandwich with a basil sauce instead of mayo (its amazing every time) but I've seen their turkey melts and they look divine!! And to top it all off the staff is extremely sweet and they put love into their food, you can taste it. read more
