We loved the Saturday brunch. We maybe felt a tad underdressed in our tourist clothes, but others were casual and we were not treated poorly for shorts and t-shirts. Service was attentive, and the food was delicious. The palm beach salad was awesome. I enjoyed the Cobb, but the blue cheese may be strong for some. The French toast was amazing. I was jealous of my son's rainbow trout although the crab wasn't worth the add on both due to quality and quantity. What a wonderful experience. Old Fashion with freshly muddled ingredients and a large circular cube. Sirloin Meatloaf was excellent and came out within 10 minutes of ordering and when I told the manager Ray that my Key Lime Pie looked like an unattractive piece she went above and beyond to get me a fresh slice from a new pie! My senior class had a day out, and we all went to Bricktops. It was my first time, and I must say it was really good. Though our first waitress was kind of...rude...our actual waiter was really funny and nice. He kept laughing with us when we would say stupid stuff. And my three friends who I sat with, we got spinach dip as an appetizer, which I don't like spinach dip, but it was sooo good. And as for a meal I got a cheeseburger fixed to my liking. And it was good. They prepare it just how you ask for it. I could smell their bbq as we were waiting and it smelled really good. You could see the chefs preparing the meals while waiting, which is kind of refreshing. Overall the place was great, it was fun we were all dressed up and everything haha. Bricktops is my favorite place in town, no question about it. I am a steak fanatic and I won't go anywhere else for a steak (except for Woody's in Madison, but that's too far away from downtown). If you like steak, seafood, pasta, salad, whatever, this place is for you! Best Dishes - Filet Mignon w/ Loaded baked potato & salad, and the Planked Salmon w/ Twice baked potato & salad. Service is exceptional as well as the environment. We had been there a few times when the service and food were great. Surprisingly last night we went and had the worst service of all time. First she got my order wrong, then kept rushing us through the entire meal.. Asking if we were done every 5 minutes. Then we ask for a Togo box and she takes the food back to the kitchen where we thought she was boxing it .. Turns out she comes back empty handed because she had thrown our food away and said she didn't hear us say it. We wouldn't have been that upset had it not been almost an entire meal of prime rib and app. All we received was an apology and " sorry I didn't hear that ." Nothing was done to make up for it and she didn't offer to have us new food made. After this apology she asked us personal questions that didn't even go with the conversation.. We were confused..? We should've notified a manager but we didn't want to make it a big deal. It was just surprising to have that service at Bricktops honestly. Can't say we will be back anytime soon read more

First of all I'm a frequent customer at this restaurant in Nashville Tn. Normally the brunch is pretty awesome but for some reason today was not the best when dealing with "Chad Pennington" (manager). My sister ordered three steaks on the breakfast menu and was told that they no longer had that particular steak and she would have to Pay the higher price for another steak if she wanted one. NO customer service from the manager at ALL he did not try to accommodate, very poor at best. We found this place on another breakfast adventure the second morning we were in Nashville. My dad's friend, as before (read: Mojo review), wanted some eggs and grease to cure the pain felt from PBR and Cuervo. We set out on a mission again and were coming up with nothing satisfying. When we got to Boundry, we knew that it wasn't exactly the greasy spoon that we desired, but we were running out of breakfast (and even brunch) hours, so we stopped. We went right to the bar because we anticipated it would be a little more laid back than at a table. We seemed to be right and the two bartenders that handled our orders were chatty and friendly and didn't seem to judge us for not being dressed in our Sunday best, which is what we wanted. Points for good service and people. I got the Bel Air Benedict. I'll be honest, there were a few reasons I got this, one of them being that I thought of Will Smith. The other reasons? I LOVE eggs benedict, avocado is an obsession and grits are one of my favorite breakfast sides (with cheese?!). The breakfast was tasty, but not worth the money. Whenever I review somewhere for eggs benedict, I always end up deciding that my original favorite is still my favorite (read: Inn on Coventry in Cleveland, Ohio review) and this time is no exception. The eggs weren't poached! They were more like flexible hard boiled eggs. The first one had a solid yolk and the second had a VERY thin layer of liquid yolk around a solid one. I realize poaching isn't the most commonly used technique for cooking eggs and it can be difficult, but I expected better ($ and atmosphere gave me the impression that this would be top notch cooking). While I regret not saying anything about this, it didn't stop me from eating about 75% of my meal (that's a lot for me!!). The avocado was full of flavor, though, so I'll give them that, since often avocado just tastes like cold, bland mush added to dishes. The grits were chunky, but tasty; certainly not my favorite, though I still enjoyed them. What's there not to like about Bricktop's here in Nashville? Food is great. Drinks are great. Service is fine. My family looks forward to the Sunday Brunch after church. It's a great and popular place to bump into friends. As someone who's lived in Nashville for a long time I'm familiar with all the fine restaurants up and down West End Ave. Bricktop's is a favorite in the city for lots of people. What's not to like? Here's something: The 1950s character of the restaurant's hiring pattern. If you're from cosmopolitan cities like Chicago, Atlanta, DC, New York, and LA, you notice that Nashville remains a segregated city. Black and brown people are in the kitchen cooking. Only whites are allowed on the floor serving customers. Except for a token black or Hispanic server here or there, fine restaurants in Nashville don't think it's important for their staff to reflect the diversity of the patrons who support their establishments. Now that the city has its first female Mayor, it's time for Nashville's business establishments to wise up. Patrons are paying attention. read more

Best restaurant experience ever! Everything was fantastic and our server Eric was one of the best waiters I have ever had and that's coming from a waitress of 7 years. We started with firecracker sushi then went with the lobster bisque and grouper then finished it off with the chocolate chip cookie. We split everything and it was the perfect amount. I have been going to Bricktops for the past 6 years and my wife and I along with our friends love it! The food is always good and so is the service. I have met Matt the GM before and he seems nice and friendly. I am not sure who Rachel is, but I always see the managers helping the waiters and waitresses. They seem to all work hard and enjoy their jobs, maybe that is why they are "laughing loud and giggly". Thanks Bricktops and maybe Lisa needs to be a happier person. read more

We went there on a Sunday afternoon;too late for brunch, too early for dinner. I decided on the deviled eggs and bacon because I hadn't eaten all day and I was still feeling breakfasty. Oh sweet lord they were delicious! I don't know what they do to the bacon, but it almost tasted (dare I say?) candied??? The eggs were perfectly seasoned, and soon after I all but licked the plate, I seriously debated on getting another order! For our entrees, I ordered the salmon flatbread. It was really fantastic, except for the purple onions, which were great but always ruin my breath! They were justifiable tho. I wouldn't change the dish. My boyfriend, ever the non conformist, ordered the ahi tuna with a side of their AMAZING Mac and cheese. Possibly the second best Mac and cheese I've ever had! The tuna filets were seasoned and cooked to perfection. I'd love to try and replicate them at home! We also sprung for key lime pie, and it was also fantastic! The crust was something out of a fairy tale. We also got excellent service, and our waiter was super nice and entertaining. We SHALL return. read more

The managers here are terrible. I don't know the GM, I've honestly never seen his face in a restaurant I eat at all the time, but Bricktop's used to be a staple of ours. Lately, my experience has been giggly girl managers who laugh too loud and let the servers run around in chaos, and don't give a care in the world. I think one manager's name is Rachel. Everytime she is working the staff looks confused and lost and service is terrible. read more

I've been here twice and the food is very tasty. I got the prime rib and it was cooked just the way I like it. I would recommend this place to people who want a nice, slightly fancy dinner. Really enjoyed my salad at Bricktops. I am gluten, soy, and dairy allergic, so my options are usually limited at restaurants. I was not disappointed here. They even have a gluten free menu and our server seemed to have a clue about gluten allergies. One of the best restaurant's we've enjoyed in a long time. We were visiting from Austin and just stumbled onto this place. Ahi burger was amazing as was the tomato red pepper soup (tasted just like my Italian grandmother used to make from scratch) and my husband loved the sushi rolls. There is almost a wait (because the food and service are that good) so make a reservation if/when possible. I am vegetarian and their veggie burger is quite good. This is among the go-to places for business lunches, especially in the West End corridor. The food is very good consistent, and I have noticed that prices are creeping up a bit. My one criticism would be that the menu never changes and the specials seem to be rotated instead of refreshed from time to time; however, I eat there on average 4-5 times per month so not an issue for someone going there occasionally. Artichoke app was perfectly cooked and basted with some butter type deliciousness....wedge salad way better than typical and the Ahi was prepared perfectly.
