    Mac and cheese and salad

J's is heavy in my rotation for good drinks and solid food. We dined in and our service was friendly and quick. The vibes are always right so if you want bar seating with people to chat with it's the perfect spot or seated dining to enjoy a more intimate experience again it's the perfect spot. My chicken was meal was filling and the potatoes were sooo delicious! I had more than enough to take home. We also had the queso and it was the perfect start. The cocktails are always delicious and have the right amount of kick. I would avoid the fruit tea but everything else is chefs kiss and the same with each visit.

The ambiance is very inviting and relaxing. It makes you want to stay awhile and chat before and after you eat. Food is always amazing.

Great spot to grab a bite! J Alexander's is one of my favorite spots. Love this location on West End. The service is always friendly from the time you enter the door until you leave. They have a great menu with many tasty options from salads, sandwiches, steaks, etc. My favorite is the spinach con queso appetizer. Also, you can't go wrong with any salad. All the food is beautifully plated to add to the appeal of the meal. The inside hasn't changed much. They have a great fully stocked bar/bar area, great wine list and space if you dine alone or in a group. The dining room has ample booths and tables. The inside is a little dark and cozy. They have great seats by the window to get sunlight. The menu options are moderately priced. If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend the carrot cake. Definitely worth a visit.

Loved everything! Made for a beautiful Valentine's Day! The food, service and the price was great!

We had a reservation for a Saturday night and were thrilled to be in the space because it's always good! And then...we got a new server. - The food was just decent. My strip was slightly overcooked but the Mac was phenomenal - The vibes were quite louder than normal but okay - Our starters and food came at the same time which was disappointing. Generally, it was meh. I'll try again on another day because it's so abnormal.

I'm really sad that this is a chain, as I tend to stay away from those. We were staying near Vanderbilt and walked over for drinks and dinner. First, understand that their cocktails are automatically a double. I really enjoyed my Makers Mark and Diet Coke, which even had a dried orange slice. It was perfect. I opted for their Thai salmon special for dinner, but subbed broccoli for the pilaf. The salmon portion was generous and perfectly cooked - I would totally get this again and again! My friend ordered the crab cakes and this was my only sadness: the crab cakes were AMAZING and contained very little filler... I really wished I had ordered them also. The service was friendly and pretty quick for a Saturday evening and the noise level was not too loud to carry on conversations, even in the bar. If I ever return to Nashville, I will be back.

Very Best Chocolate cake, is exactly that! Great for birthdays too!! ; )

We returned to one of our favorite places and find that the service continues to deteriorate. We waited 10 mins for greeting, another several for water (which was never refilled) My ahi tuna salad was fine but has less greens and a mountain of the crunchy things. I had to pile them on the side of the plate. Also they serve it with more dressing now so beware. Everyone's food was OK. When our waitress finally returned to prebus and ask about dessert, I wasn't even able to order my coffee or customary chocolate martini before she was gone again. All of our drinks were dry at this point but never refilled. We had even put them all near the edge of the table. So the glasses got taken away. We took it as a sign to go so we did just that. Disappointed and not worth the $210+ tip for dinner for 4.

    Steak Maui
    Destiny W.

J's is always a good idea! This was my first time trying Steak Maui and the flavor was great, but the ribeye cut wasn't the most tender. I ordered it medium expecting it to be the perfect temp, but I probably will stick to the filet

Slow roasted prime rib and mashed potatoes.

We came here for late dinner, 8.30 and this place was not packed which is very surprising, bc they play music jazz music, and you can have a lovely dinner and still hear ppl talk. But the best thing is their pork chop !!! This is a must get. Thank me later. We got the pork chop medium well bc we like our pork more cooked bc ain't no one trying to get salmonella from undercooked pork. But it was sooo good, has a nice char on the outside, and perfectly seasoned. Additionally, it sits on top of a bed of allegedly "rice" according to our server. But to me, it reminded me of a tendon brisket texture. I would've bet money on it too. But delicious with sweet peach sauce that came with it. For the prime rib, it was a huge cut of meat, but it was lacking flavor, needed some more salt and some rosemary to bring out the meat. Both main dishes can serve 2 people each, so worth the price and food. Definitely come back! And a shout out to our server Cole, who was great

The small signage made it a little difficult to find inside the Marriott (see pictures), but from the moment we walked in, heard the live piano player and saw the dining area - we knew this would be a great experience. We started off by sharing orders of Lobster Bisque (see picture) and Burrata with Toast (see pictures). We really enjoyed both of them - the Lobster Bisque was so creamy and smooth and the Burrata was cool, fresh and clean. They were a great combination to start our dinner experience and I would recommend both of them. Since it was a Friday during lent, my wife opted for the BBQ Shrimp Pasta (see picture) and I went with the Daily Fish Special on Blue Corn Grits (see picture). As we always do when we go out, we shared our plates and really enjoyed both of them. The BBQ Shrimp Pasta was rich, buttery and smooth and the Fish Special was a tasty white, flaky and blackened fish served on a bed of rich, creamy blue corn grits. Here again, both are highly recommended. While it is one of your more expensive area stops for dinner, you will appreciate the food quality and presentation at Gannons Nashville for your next special occasion. As we settled in with the menu our questions were answered. The pretzel appetizer took a rather long time. Apparently the original portion was burned and was remade. Our main meal arrived and I ordered a brown ale. I nearly finished my burger before the ale arrived "The bar was backed up". Our meals were hot and freshly made from the kitchen. The Jasper Burger was juicy and the bleu cheese was slightly brown and went well with the patty. I was able to swap the American cheese out for the blue. My bang bang Brussels were excellent with the right amount of spiciness. Chicken sandwich and wedge fries looked delicious as did all the food. All in all the food was very good and the service was accurate if a bit slow. Tips: Parking in the lot is validated. Head on in and scan the QR code at the host station for three hours of free parking. It appears that even though they don't offer alternative cheeses on the menu if you ask you can get any cheese they have for the other dishes. Be sure to review your check. We were placed in the lower-level dining area, which we didn't mind at all--it had a great atmosphere with a live band performing until 10 PM. For food, we ordered the seafood tower (The Big Eddie), crab fried rice, and Chilean sea bass. Everything was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. For drinks, we had the Hope Diamond and a tequila soda. The Hope Diamond was especially good, and our server even shared the ingredients so we could recreate it at home. As their name implies, their seafood is fantastic, probably the best in the entire city! They have a policy that every seafood served at Eddie V's was alive in the ocean less than 36 hours prior! Anything left over is donated, which is impressive! And you can taste its incredible freshness throughout the meal! There are only 30 locations of Eddie V's in 15 states, but the quality is hardly reminiscent of chain restaurant food. It's truly exquisite! And we have very high standard having dined at Michelin-starred eateries all over the world. The scallops, lobster, and lobster bisque are easily the best in Nashville, and we've dined at every high-class restaurant Music City has to offer! The butter poached lobster mashed potatoes are incredible, extra creamy topped with buttery lobster and a beurre blanc sauce. The truffle mac is equally stupendous, with a three-cheese blend, truffle oil, and thinly shaved truffles imported from France! While most upscale restaurants tend to make a very strong truffle mac that has overpowering flavors, the chef at Eddie V's manages to make this, and all dishes, subtle and flavorful without overdoing it. Just as amazing as the seafood are the steaks. Since they had a Japanese A5 Wagyu in the building at $40 an ounce, something they don't have every night, I took advantage of that! As expected, the highest grade of Japanese beef did not disappoint, and the chef prepared it to perfection. That impossibly tender steak seasoned beautifully just meted in my mouth, probably the second best steak I've eaten in Nashville! The ponzu sauce, one of three that accompanied the steak, was delicious. The Korean inspired gochujang was also good, but maybe not perfect for this style of steak. But the wasabi paste was the winner, a perfect compliment to the beef without being very spicy, just wonderfully flavorful. Like all dishes here, they've impeccably balanced flavor with subtly! The desserts aren't bad either, but they pale in comparison to the beef, seafood, and side dishes!
