I love this place, especially because the service was amazing!! They made me feel like they wanted me to be there which is rare with restaurants these days.. We saw an advertised $49.99 three course meal deal that is offered Sunday - Thursday , and decided to take advantage. It was also happy hour which made it even better because they offer amazing happy hour deals. For my meal, I went with the Baby Gem Caesar Salad. The portion was huge and I was able to share with my family. Next I went with the 6 ounce filet. It was good, but overcooked. I ordered medium well and got extremely well. For my side, I went with the Mac and Cheese, it was really good and was enough for two more meals. The dessert offer is (choose one per two people). We went with the Bag O' Donuts. Yum!! We had never been here, but wanted to try a different experience for a steakhouse in Nashville. We opted to go in early one afternoon and try some of their date night specials. Immediately on walking in, we were greeted dryly by the girls at the front desk who clearly were not interested in two middle-aged adults - what with the late 20s hanging out at the bar consuming most the restaurants attention. The restaurant itself left a lot to be desired, as it was super weird ambiance. Decorated like Todd and Margo's house from everybody's favorite holiday movie "Christmas Vacation", it felt straight out of an 80s magazine. Which might have been fine 2 decades ago, but now: Just odd. So too were the oddly laid out table configuration in the very far back of the restaurant where they seated us. Away from literally every other guest in the entire establishment. Like they didn't want the old people to cramp the style of the 20-somethings at the bar (way too early in the day). To be fair, we were ok with being seated further away though, as - for whatever strange reason - they had a DJ set up in the middle of the place, bumping very loud, obnoxious "club" music at 5pm on a bright sunny day for a sparsely populated "upscale" restaurant. As for the food, my two restaurant pet peeves were met this evening: 1. I may be in the minority, but I absolutely LOATHE sweet bread starters. Not sure if it was the bread or the butter offerings, but when I go to a nice steakhouse, I'm craving SAVORY! Sweet bread/butter just turns my palate off. To be fair, it might have been ok, if anything we ate that evening had been SEASONED! Which leads me to my pet peeve #2: EVERYthing needed SALT! The bread, the butter, the appetizers (photos of everything we ate are attached to my review), the mains - EVERYTHING. How hard is it to hit your food with a little salt and pepper?! The biggest (and oddly enough) best PRO of the night? The pie was fantastic! At the end of the day, we spent $200 for a sub-par meal in a weird, dated environment, with an acoustic ear-drumming, and no seasoning. Sadly, this was a one-and-done for us. read more

The Service: 5/5 Let's start with the absolute highlight: the service. Our waiter, Patrick, was phenomenal. He was warm, incredibly attentive, and steered us in the right direction with some excellent drink recommendations. He truly elevated the evening. The Food: 2/5 Unfortunately, the kitchen didn't match Patrick's energy. For a restaurant with STK's reputation, the food was remarkably underwhelming. We started with happy hour apps, and it was a mixed bag. The calamari was perfectly deep-fried and packed with flavor. However, the brisket quesadilla felt rushed and needed more time on the flat top. The real disappointment was the truffle fries--there wasn't a hint of truffle oil in sight, just a sad dusting of what looked and tasted like shaker-can Parmesan. We left more than half the plate untouched. For mains, my coworkers ordered the steak frites and salmon, while I opted for the burger. While the meat itself was cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the burger was completely sabotaged by the bun. It was incredibly hard--almost as if it had been baked to a crisp. A great burger needs a soft, pillowy bun, not a jaw workout. To top it off, it was served with standard kettle chips, which feels way too casual for an upscale spot like this. The Verdict: The cocktails and the service were easily the best parts of the night, which is a bit disappointing for a high-end steakhouse. Updated Review I've always enjoyed my experiences at STK, but this was the first time I left disappointed. I came to celebrate my birthday with my girls for Sunday brunch, and 3out of the 5 of us ordered the all you can eat option. We decided to start with the breadbasket, Caesar salad, and charcuterie board, but it took an unusually long time for our waitress to return, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. To give you a visual, my other 2 guests ordered something completely different, and they were 90% done with their meal before our waitress returned. When she finally came back, two of us tried to order the chicken and waffles, only to be told at that point that they had run out of chicken. That was the main reason we chose the all you can eat brunch, and had we known earlier, we would have opted out. It left a bad taste in our mouths, which was disappointing because I've had delightful experiences here in the past. The service overall was very slow, and the lack of communication about menu availability made things worse. Not sure if or when I'll be back....a place is only as good as your last experience, and this one missed the mark. Came in to try their burger for burger week and was disappointed at least for the burger. Sat at bar, was later in the evening and was pretty slow in there. Unfortunately had to ask for silverware when food arrived and then didn't even get asked how the burger was during the meal. The fries were the highlight of the meal. Burger felt off, wasn't seasoned at all. I mean not even salt & pepper!! Burger didn't seem fresh at all like the patty been sitting out and had a feeling I would regret it later. Woken up in middle of night from stomach ache. Disappointed to say the least and quite frankly little worried. Hoping in the morning I will feel better! I had dinner here last night and thought our meal was OK. Our server was extremely nice very attentive and provided recommendations on best menu items. We started off with crab fritters and the meatballs both were delicious. For our entrées, I opted for a ribeye because I'm a ribeye kind of girl. My colleague ordered the Seabass. For our sides we opted for Brussels and the corn pudding. My steak was OK. I asked for a medium steak and it was medium, but I wish it just had more of a sear on the top. It didn't have that but it was OK. My colleague had the Seabass, we literally thought that maybe half of it fell off and they never bothered it to put it on her plate. It was such a small portion, like a kids portion. The manager came and asked if she ate any and we said no because she didn't, it was what was brought out. Luckily I had taken pics as I have to write my review with proof. She discounted the meal but we would Have preferred to get the right portion. Nonetheless the small portion of Seabass was delicious. Great great service. Fantastic food . Had the Waygu potstickers starter. Little gem Caesar - real Caesar dressing! Both were delicious. For 4 people had the tomahawk and the 10 ounce filet. Medium rare, perfectly done . The "heat temp" on both was almost cool, on the outside- so I'm pretty sure they rested a bit too much before they came out. Great sides of mashed potatoes with parm, Brussels, and creamed spinach . Oh also the bread was pretty good. The desserts of apple "pie" and the chocolate chip cookie were pretty mid. I had a good experience visiting this location in Nashville. I ordered the beef short ribs which came with mashed potatoes and crispy shallots. The crunch of the crispy shallots was a nice add to the meal. My only complaint is that my portion of short ribs was a little fattier than I would. Other than that, everything was great. We have been wanting to stop by for the Happy Hour for quite some time, and now that we have, well, I can say we can check it off of our list. The prices are great, and for some of the items, the portions are a great deal. For example, the $9 wagyu burger + chips is awesome! Many of the cocktails are $9. Also, a great deal. The mojito taste on the other hand, not great. Also, I ordered a mocktail which was priced at $12, and terrible. Too bad our server never asked about our drinks. The atmosphere feels more like a dance club than a restaurant, which completely misses the mark for a steakhouse at this price point. The food was beyond poor. Two out of three steaks were overcooked--and I'd much rather receive an undercooked steak than an overcooked one. For a steakhouse charging such an premium, the food should be exceptional. I had to call the server over AGAIN. I showed him my steak (again) and he wanted to try to cook it more. I told him, I am good and I didn't want to try again. The manager came over to discuss the situation and was very polite. She offered to cook my steak more and said "we do t offer new steaks until they've been cooked 3 times". I laughed and said no think you, twice is enough. She did offer dessert, which I declined and removed the steak from our bill. We came in for a Thursday night dinner with our crew of eight and sat on the upper level, which gave us the perfect view of the lively atmosphere. I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think I'll ever visit again. My family and I visited on a Friday night for our son's birthday. I've been to a few of the 'nicer' restaurants around Nashville. This place is honestly, unreasonably expensive. If the prices were ~15-20% less, then maybe I'd add another star. The prices are that of a FINE steakhouse. This place is NOT fine. The music is pretty loud, and you have to really raise your voice to speak to the sever. I wouldn't quite put it at the level of yelling. But you're required to talk relatively much louder at your table to carry on any type of conversation. Drinks (cocktails) were decent, but are ~$23--which is insane to me. We had relatively good servers. One was new and she did her best. There were two instances where we were talking still talking to the servers and they walked away. I don't believe it was on purpose, but due to the level of music there, they didn't hear when one of us spoke up asking a question, requesting something, etc. If you like expensive food with a club vibe, this place is for you. My some ordered the NY Strip, Medium rare. The steak that arrived was appropriately cooked and the appropriate size, but tasted very VERY bad. It tasted as if the meat was way spoiled OR the grill was cleaned/sprayed with something and not wiped off. We aren't very picky eaters, but this was NOT consumable. A very chemically taste. And it def was not char. The servers and manager(s) came to the table and apologized. They did not appeared to be negative about it at all. We advised to temp, med-rare was fine, but that it was in no way edible. Another steak arrived shortly after, but this time it was pale and a "blue" rare. Very rare. Whatever, he stuck with it, but took half home. Happy birthday I guess. Two of us at the table required salt for the food. My lobster pasta was great. The seafood isn't well for something coming out of the water it sure was dry. We have been to STK several times in the last couple of years . The food is always delicious and the service is usually on point . However something happened yesterday that just really annoyed me . We had reservations for Mother's Day brunch order our drinks and appetizers all good up till this part . The manager did stop by to ask how we were doing after our drinks came out but before the appetizers . I was sitting with my back to the bar area facing the window on the street . After we finished our appetizers a server bringing out 4 or more lemonade apparently dropped them directly behind me . They splashed on my back , arm , leg and there was a glass shard in my chair when I stood up . I know it was accident and I wasn't mad about it . The server's there were several that came out to clean up all the liquid and glass all said we're so sorry . I was standing up wiping my shirt and pants off trying to dry off as best I could , I looked up the manager was looking directly at me . He never bothered to come over to check on us again or say anything . I sat there and ate my meal ( It was all great we enjoyed the meal ) with the back of my shirt and pants leg wet . It seemed at this point they were ignoring us as best they could . Server asked if we wanted dessert we got the Donuts ( actually donut holes ) I figured they would at least offer free dessert . No they didn't offer anything no apologies from the manager just a $326.00 bill . I would expect more from a high end restaurant like this . I was a restaurant manager myself for years and I would always at the minimum offer a free dessert . I wasn't looking for anything free but felt totally disrespected . I have been to this restaurant at least 10 times in the last couple of years. Came to celebrate 50th birthday. Erica rolled her eyes and never said another word to us. There were 3 tables on lower half of restaurant . We were the 4th. Erica went to seat us directly next to other 2 tables occupied. We politely asked if we could sit at another table. It was very obvious to us why someone would ask that question. Erica says, " do you want a bigger table" My response was simple and stated , no, we just prefer not to sit on top of other tables.
