She did my makeup for my son's aqeeqah. Came to my house. Did a great job and uses good makeup brands. Prices are reasonable.

I was informed that the hairdressers are contracted out. Therefore, I would recommend going over pricing before sitting in a chair so you're not surprised when it's time to pay for services. I really appreciate Mrs. Julia's sincerity and customer service. ------------------- I went to this salon based off of reviews and service prices listed online. The establishment was nice and clean on the inside, there were only two hairdressers working with the rest of the chairs sitting empty. The original hairdresser I had booked with had a migraine and called out, so I was rescheduled with Helen. She cut my both children's hair. Both of my girls had trims only - maybe an inch a piece on dry, clean hair. That's it. No wash, no dry, no curl or style. Just trims. Based off the pricing online, I was expecting to pay maybe $20 per child (online said kids cuts are $13 and up). They charged me $100! For two trims! When I asked the front desk receptionist about the high prices, she verified with me that they had not received any additional services that would make the price increase that much, stated that she didn't believe the website had been updated in a while & that basically the hairdresser set those prices and there was nothing she could do about it. She was sweet and kept apologizing but I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. The prices are outrageous and it's basically a "well, that's just how it is" attitude. I expect more out of a Sugar Land business. Very disappointed.

I wanted to share my experience so others can make an informed decision…read more I went to this salon simply wanting my existing hair color matched. During the appointment, after the foils were already applied, the stylist started asking additional questions about color choices, which made me feel confused about what was actually being done. When the color was finished, my hair turned out much darker than what I had requested. My request was not anything extreme or complicated, I only wanted to maintain the color I already had. Although I was very unhappy with the results, I still paid over $300 for the service. After leaving, I called the salon to explain my concerns. I was told I could come back for a color correction, but that I would be charged for any additional services. I did not fully understand why there would be extra charges to address a result I was unhappy with, but I returned anyway because of the way my hair looked. Unfortunately, the second visit was also uncomfortable. At first, it did not seem clear how they planned to fix the issue. When the manager became involved, she appeared visibly irritated and began scolding the stylist in front of me. Since the salon is small, the atmosphere became very awkward and unprofessional, and I felt uncomfortable the entire time. Overall, I left disappointed not only with the final result, but with the overall customer experience. I understand mistakes can happen, but professionalism, communication, and how employees are treated in front of clients matter. Based on my experience, I would not return.

I have spent years searching for a truly exceptional hair stylist in the Houston/Katy/Richmond…read morearea--someone who doesn't just "do hair," but actually sees you, listens, and cares about delivering the result you're hoping for. After countless disappointing experiences and hundreds of dollars spent, I can confidently say: Mariah is the one I've been looking for. This was, without question, the best experience I've ever had with my hair. From the moment I sat in her chair, Mariah took the time to truly consult with me--she looked at my hair, asked thoughtful questions, and most importantly, she listened. What stood out most was the trust she built almost immediately. With her knowledge, calm confidence, and patience, I knew I was in the right hands. No one has ever spent that kind of quality time with me. For over three and a half hours, she educated me about my hair--how it behaves, what it needs, and how to care for it in a way that actually works. She explained my options clearly without ever being pushy or trying to sell me anything. She was simply there to help--and that made me trust her even more. I originally came in considering a treatment, but through her expertise, she helped me understand what my hair truly needed. I left with a hair treatment, a haircut that suits me better than anything I've had before, and a clear plan moving forward. Mariah is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and truly a gift. To have someone you trust with your hair is everything--and she earned that trust from the very beginning. If you're in Houston/Katy/Richmond and still searching for "your person," stop looking. I don't typically leave negative reviews unless I genuinely feel the experience warrants one…read more This review is a serious warning to anyone with African-American hair, African kinky hair, coily hair, or highly textured curly hair: please think twice before booking services here. Based on my experience, this salon clearly does not have the knowledge, technique, or experience necessary to properly work with these hair textures. I booked two appointments for my daughters at Blo Blow Dry Bar in Sugar Land, Texas for basic wash-and-blowout services. Before booking, I clearly noted in the appointment comments that my daughters have African kinky/coily hair textures. Prior to the appointment, the salon called and asked whether I could come earlier because they were unsure if the stylists would be able to complete the service within the scheduled timeframe due to my daughters' hair texture. Although I explained that I work until 5 PM, I still rearranged my schedule and came earlier so they could assess my daughters' hair beforehand. When we arrived, I again specifically asked whether the stylists had experience working with African textured hair. One stylist even asked to touch my daughter's hair to feel the texture before beginning. After examining their hair, I was told they may need to charge additional fees for extended styling time, including flat ironing and curling. I clarified multiple times that I was NOT requesting styling, curls, or flat ironing because my daughters were getting braids a couple of days later. I only requested a simple wash-and-blow-dry service. The stylist then reassured me that, since we only needed wash-and-blow-dry services, extended timing likely would not be necessary. I arrived at approximately 5:05 PM. My first daughter was taken back around 5:15 PM, and my second daughter approximately 10-15 minutes later. Both services were completed within less than 45 minutes before the discussion about additional charges came up. At no point was I clearly informed that additional charges would definitely apply. I was only told they would "let me know" if extra time became necessary. After the appointments were completed, I was unexpectedly charged an additional $15 per child for "extended blow drying." The final results absolutely did not reflect the price charged. For approximately $70 per child for a basic wash-and-blow-dry service that lasted barely 45 minutes, I expected significantly better results and far more experience handling textured hair. What made the experience even more disappointing was how uncomfortable and demeaning the overall interaction felt. We regularly visit other salons, including Cherry Blow Dry Bar, and have never experienced this level of discomfort or lack of professionalism regarding our hair texture. At one point, after seeing the final results, I genuinely asked the stylist whether she was proud of the work completed because the outcome did not reflect the pricing, the added fees, or the level of service we were promised. See attached photos of what approximately $70 per child looked like after a basic wash-and-blow-dry appointment. The photos speak for themselves. I also have time-stamped iPhone photos confirming both my visit and the condition of my daughters' hair immediately after the service, before anyone attempts to dispute that we were there. My issue is not simply the additional charge. It is the lack of transparency, the disappointing results, and the feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously despite communicating everything clearly upfront before the appointment. If a salon is not experienced with textured African hair, it is completely acceptable to say so honestly before accepting appointments, charging families additional fees, and delivering subpar results. Customers deserve transparency, professionalism, honesty, and respectful treatment.
