I was doing my due diligence on trying to find a wedding dress seamstress for a dress I had my eyes on and found Judith via yelp. I decided to give her a call to get an estimate on what it would possibly cost to have the dress I wanted altered after trying it on at a boutique in Annapolis and she gave me a quick but very educational explanation on making sure the dress was measured correctly and to have things documented in the order sheet so what i pay for is what I receive. She then asked me who the designed of my dress was to see if I was getting a proper quote and told me that it was a bit higher than what it should be and advised me to call around other boutiques who might carry that designer to compare costs. I took her suggestion to heart and found the dress I loved at $200 less than what I was quoted for at the Annapolis shop! So thank you Judith for bringing that attention to me and taking the time to explain the run down on how to cost effectively and smartly purchase a wedding dress. The boutique I ended up buying my dress from has an in house seamstress so I won't be needing to take it to Judith but she helped me, in her own way, to buy the dress I wanted at a comfortable price and I am so grateful for that.

One of the dresses needed MAJOR adjustments as it was a good 3 sizes too big in the bust, waist and needed hemmed. Judith was able to adjust both dresses to perfection! I had gone to other bridal shops in VA and just didn't get the best vibe but I was really sold on this shop not only because of the stunning dresses, but because i knew Miriam had my back and would work with me. You also get some privacy during your appointment as Miriam doesn't have too many people at once during visits which is really helpful. I had plenty of time to find other veils but I wanted the one they had so I figured 2-5 weeks was plenty of time to hear back and receive my product. If you're out of state or trying to place an order online with them I would stay away. They are very negligent.

We found ZAKAA and found their atelier was on site - the designer helped my friend to rework her dress into what she wanted and when we got there we realized just how much she got ripped off when we compared her "designer" dress to ZAKAA's beautiful gowns. My friend could have purchased 2 customized dresses by a real designer than what she left with from this other store. ZAKAA even worked in an alteration package for my friend which let me tell you NO ONE would ever do especially for a dress that isn't theirs! She came up with money saving plans and work to make this dress my friend's dream dress. She literally took a piece of fabric dress that didn't even have boning into a masterpiece! Another upside to this experience was when it was my turn to purchase a dress I knew exactly where to go. I was able to put together a customized dress with the designer and have a packaged alternation deal, flat price for everything, that was VERY fair based on the insane amounts others quoted us. When I arrived, I was the second customer in the store, yet there was only one robe, which already made the experience uncomfortable and exposed. Muna, my consultant, was amazing -- kind, patient, and truly the only reason I considered purchasing a gown. I'm 5'2" and a size 16-18, and only two dresses fit me. She handled me with grace and made me feel comfortable. While I was deciding on a $1,550 dress and $450 veil, the owner made 2 comments that didn't sit with me well regarding the dress "It's your size and there aren't many options in your size," and then, as I stepped aside to make a phone call, added, "I need to know what you're going to do because I have to write this up." The pressure and tone were unnecessary and disappointing. There were also no price tags, and asking for prices resulted in vague responses. "It's Couture and expensive" In the end, I paid $50 to try on only a couple of dresses and left feeling rushed, limited, and discouraged. Curvier brides should be aware that the inclusivity and sensitivity you expect may not be what you experience here.
