I was very disappointed in the mess of a shop. I was looking for mob dresses. First appointment of day. Owner comes rushing in 20 minutes dragging a dozen dresses in plastic, yelling to no one in particular "I just came up from Brooklyn." Doesn't acknowledge being late. Looks at my photos. Eh these are so boring. Runs around in the back shouting for some help. Brings out 4 beaded warrior princess bodice dresses which I definitely don't want. All in size 18 way too big. Rhe dusty dressing room was used to store more gowns. I tried on one looks like brunhilde my friend says. Owner reappears with phone glued to her ear. It's gorgeous. I found this store by accident, having had a disappointing appointment at another bridal store. I was looking for a Mother of the Bride dress- something special that actually looked good on me! After trying on a few dresses here, I found " the one"- I ordered it in a different color, with different sleeves, neckline and trim! While I told them I was planning on losing weight before the wedding( they say everyone intends that!), none of us were anticipating my 31 lbs loss in 4.5 months. I entered her store looking for a particular dress however when I seen her selection I chose one of the dresses in her store. Esther was just opening her store and quoted me a price and ensured me she would have my dress in time for my wedding. I invited my sisters from NC and MD to come to my 3:30pm appointment on Sunday. I was running 10 minutes late so I called and they told me my appointment was scheduled for another day and I know for a fact it wasn't because I would be out of town that day. They were rude and didn't even try to accommodate us. Especially having my sisters and mom come from out of town they could have at the least have admitted they were wrong and schedule us the next day. I will NOT be buying my dress from here. I came to Bridal Chateau because of the Sunday hours and the great reviews. To say I've experienced nothing but grace is an understatement. I had a low budget for a wedding dress, and Esther was honest about the prices in her store from the beginning and only showed me dresses that were as close to my budget as she could get. In the fitting room I spotted a dress and she told me it was definitely above my budget and tried to deter me from putting it on because once I put it on I would want it. Well she was right and it was my dress!!!!! It's not about the money for Esther. Obviously! She would have been pushing that dress on me if she was after money, but no, she wants happy brides. That meant a lot to me. Fast forward to the covid19 virus. I was supposed to get married last weekend (3/21/20) and had to postpone my wedding. Just awful but fine this is where we are at right now. Esther not only said she will hold my dress until my new wedding date in August, but she will refit me and steam the dress before the wedding. I'm sure she's running out of room because of brides postponing their weddings, but she didn't skip a beat in trying to be there for me. I recently went to purchase a bridesmaids dress for my friends wedding and Esther could not have been more helpful. I walked in not really sure what I wanted and she spent so much time going over what would work for my body and was honest and told me what wouldn't. She wasn't trying to just sell me she wanted me to get something I would feel amazing in. I called Bridal Chateau and found out that Demetrios was having a trunk show just a few weeks later so I waited, went to Bridal Chateau, and tried on the dress again and purchased it from Bridal Chateau. They did an amazing job with measuring me and getting it custom fit from Demetrios so I could avoid unnecessary alteration costs. While I am not using their seamstress, I highly recommend Bridal Chateau. Danielle and Esther are so sweet and helpful and I felt so comfortable purchasing my dress from them! read more

The store owner Eshter is very nice but don't be fooled by her pleasant demeanor. She will take advantage of you by over charging you if she sees that you really like a dress. Do not let her know your budget for anything and shop around for prices and you will see that this place is extremely over priced. Terrible experience. The owner Esther was extremely nice and helpful until I realized she was trying to take advantage of me. I went there for a trunk show and she knew that I wanted a specific dress in the trunk show so she knew the amount of money I was willing to spend for the right dress even though I was extremely stretching my budget to make it work. She insisted that I also tried on another dress that she had in the window and kept telling me when I had it on how it was the dress for me not the one I came there for and then wouldn't let me try on any of the other trunk show dresses telling me they just wouldn't compare to the one from the window. Once she realized I liked the dress from the window just as much as the one I went there for she told me it was the same price as the trunk show dress and she would honor the 10% trunk show discount on the dress even though it wasn't apart of the trunk show. I left and did my homework on the dress from the window only to find out that it was significantly less than what she was trying to charge me. When I confronted her on it she told me she could sell it to me for $1800 less than she originally quoted me! Why wasn't I quoted that in the first place? She never expected that I would do my homework and just thought I would buy it from her without price shopping. She figured if I was willing to spend a certain amount on the one dress than why not get that amount out of me for a cheaper dress so she could make a bigger profit. Big mistake Esther! I won't do business with people like that especially since I explained to her that I drove to her bridal shop 2 hours from my house because the bridal shop a 1/2 hour from my house who carried the same designer that I was there to see provided bad customer service because they never returned calls or emails. She said she prided herself in her customer service and taking care of her brides. She knew I was over budget and still tried to take advantage of me not take care of me! The joke is on her because I bought the dress that was in her window that she introduced me to from another bridal salon that was honest and had fair prices! read more

This is an update to an earlier review. Had difficulty with the dressmaker here who basically ruined my dress. After the event, the dress was badly torn and could not be fixed. Have asked the owner to deal with the manufacturer for some adjustment to no avail. She promised to get me material to try and remake the torn piece of the dress. No follow up here either. Once she has your money, you're cooked. Totally irritated with having to keep calling to get a lousy yard of material. read more

I was so glad I stopped in after my meeting with my wedding designer. Bridal Chateau is an unassuming salon with the sweetest owner, Esther. She was very honest with me about what dresses would look nice on my body type and I appreciated that she was willing to help me try on multiple dresses. She didn't rush me and was very enthusiastic throughout the whole process. I had many questions and she was happy to answer them and get the designer on the phone to make sure we can make specific alterations to the dress I was interested in. Even though there is one dress I have my eyes on, Esther did not push the dress on me and told me that she'll have the new 2016 inventory in a few months to try on. That makes me feel so comfortable she she's not just trying to close on a sale but is invested in finding the perfect dress for her client. Esther (owner) & Laura (seamstress) are the absolute best. From the moment we stepped foot into the shop Esther made us feel very comfortable. She was very flexible with appointments, patient with looking at gowns, and the best with pricing/tailoring. They have the most up-to-date gowns in their shop, have many styles and different trends, and willing to get whatever you need even if you find it somewhere else. Whenever I would call Esther whether it was weeks later or a month to ask a question about the gown, Esther easily remembered us on a first name basis and knew exactly what gown was ordered (not everyone pays that close to attention or cares that much in other bridal stores). Can't express enough how kind and professional she is. Fast forward, my mom became critically ill and ended up in the hospital. With the wedding being so close and my mom unable to get to the store for tailoring, Laura & Esther showed up to the hospital before her shop opened to tailor her gown. The gratitude and how thankful we are is not enough to express in this post how amazing everyone who works there is. They are not only knowledgable but compassionate in what they do. Esther didn't even think twice about coming to the hospital - she made it out to be no problem and eased my stress immediately. She showed up on time, and Laura was able to tailor my mom's gown and they were on their way. End of story - best bridal place in NJ. The only regret I have is not finding them sooner and not getting my gown there. The best of the best.
