This review is long overdue. I was looking for a specific wedding dress brand and this store carried it. I made an appointment and went with a couple friends on a Saturday. Shonna was the one who helped me with the whole process. She was so nice and very attentive and she made the whole process easy. I'm happy to say that I found my dress in Bridal Galleria! I purchased my dress in March and my dress arrived in August. My wedding was set for September, but I got pregnant so had to postpone the wedding, oops! There is parking under the structure and Bridal Galleria does validate the parking ticket. I definitely recommend visiting Bridal Galleria and ask for Shonna! She is the best. read more

[ During Covid Review ] Located in the embarcadero center, they offer garage parking and street parking. They are located on the 2nd floor just up the escalator and to the left. Easy to find because of signs and their sign is quite visible. They have two shops, one where they offer their trunk shows and other bridal dresses and the other shop has their off the rack dresses including the black tuxedos for the guys. I was looking forward to my appointment here hoping to find the dress, unfortunately my experience here left me with a nasty taste in my mouth. When my guest and I arrived for our appointment, our temperatures were taken, they offered hand sanitizer, and they had us sign a covid-19 waiver form. Afterwards, one of their salesperson came to us and told us that she will be assisting us today. I forgot her name, but every experience after that introduction was bad. She asked if there were any dresses I liked and if I wanted to, I could show her. I showed her my picture along with an idea of what I like along with my budget; however, I am willing to try dresses on if they are out of my budget. After I told her that I wanted a dress that was strapless, the salesperson went, "Oh...well.....that will narrow down a LOT of dresses". Turns out they barely offered a lot of dresses that were strapless with lace. The salesperson told me to walk around to see if I liked any dresses and let me tell you that experience was not fun for me. While I was looking at each dress, all I could see in the side of my eye was her just staring at me and standing there. After a couple minutes of awkward moments, she walked over to a dress and said, "Oh this one is nice; however it's out of your price range ($6000ish)" and then walked away. I was open to trying out the dress, but with that attitude, I didn't bother. Finally she told me that if there were none here, then we could go to the off the rack store and see if there were any there. We went to the store and the next thing she said after we entered really just left a bad taste in my mouth. She said to me and my guest, "I recommend looking at the pink tags over there because those dresses are more your structure". Ouch, I know that I'm not a size 4 or anything, but did she have to make a comment like that? In the end, my guest and I left this appointment at 11:40 even though our appointment was for an hour (11:30-12:30). I really did not like how I was being treated at this bridal store, how I felt like the salesperson had to comment on my size, and that she didn't even take the time to try to find a dress for me. I came here a year ago and had Kim as my bridal consultant. She was amazing!! She was so good about pulling dresses for me and helping me in and out of sooooo many dresses. Even though I didn't actually end up purchasing my wedding dress from Bridal Galleria, I still have a great experience there. Great selection of designers - they actually had all the designers I wanted to try and I learned that many other designers don't even go anywhere else outside of Bridal Galleria to stock their lines in SF. They kind of have the monopoly on them! Loved Berta and Ines Di Santo, but unfortunately the one dress that I fell in love with was out of my budget. Kim was patient, honest, and relaxed which completely took my anxiety of the process away. The day I found my dress, I came to the salon by myself because I trusted Kim so much! I visited during a Monique Lhuillier trunk show and found "the one." I wanted to make sure before purchasing, so they even fit me in for another appointment the next day and bring some friends so I could show them before purchasing the gown. I had an amazing experience at BG. I had been to 3 different salons at that point, but I loved BG the most. I went alone because I wanted to narrow down my search before bringing my crew. Their selection is so beautiful. I came in to try a Monique Lhuillier dress. Jean helped me at my appointment and selected so many other gorgeous options to try. I loved so many of them -- one of them even made me cry and I'm not a big crier! Jean strategically saved the Monique Lhuillier dress for the very end, and I had that bridal moment that I had been waiting for. Also because I was alone, Jean expertly took photos of me on my phone. By the time I went to Bridal Galleria, it was already my 8th time trying on dresses. After trying on so many dresses, I was starting to feel frustrated not being able to find "the one". But that stopped immediately when I met Shonna. I had scheduled back-to-back appointments at Bridal Galleria and their sister store Off the Rack. Shonna was my stylist for both appointments and was simply amazing for both the high end and sample store. She offered lots of helpful suggestions on what could be modified to make certain dresses my dream dress, etc. I came into BG hoping to fall in love with a Berta dress I saw on Instagram as they are the only retailer in San Francisco who carries that designer. My mom wasn't able to come with me to the appointment so Shonna graciously took many photos and videos for me to look back at and share with my mom. Unlike other salons, they do not use clips and instead use safety pins. I think pins look great because they do not take away from the look of the dress (I typically end up having like 10 clips on me by the time I walk out of the dressing room!). The only con to this, however, is the dress doesn't seem to get as fitted as it can with clips. Nonetheless, I think pins are much better for looking back at pictures. I ended up liking 3 of the dresses (Berta and Monique Lhuillier) but ended up falling in love with another dress from another shop before having a chance to come back to retry the dresses on. I was a very picky bride with a pretty specific vision of what I was looking for and Bridal Galleria delivered all that in more. Starting with space: the space is gorgeous, fluffy, white and girly. It makes shopping such a joy. The dresses and designers are gorgeous, unique and current. And then there's the staff who will go above and beyond to help you find your dream dress. After searching through the main store, Pascal actually found me my beautiful Ines di Santo dress on the sample side of the store and then she and Grace were able to get a new one ordered in my size! When the dress arrived and had a fit issue (no fault of BG), Grace was able to call the designer and they fixed it free of charge! (TRULY TRULY AMAZING). This was the 9th shop I visited last year, looking for the perfect wedding dress. The dresses here are in the higher price range but are worth the price. My dress had a beautiful train, material, beading, unique and was still light weight. I loved it because the materials used were more comfortable on the skin and again light weight which is important when you are walking in 4inch high heels in the summer heat. The gown was an ines di santo. The staff at the shop were kind and gave me time to try on dresses to find the perfect one. The dress was customizable in size too which was nice as my bottom is wider than my top and I was also able to add a lining to the top and bring in the heart v in to bodice. I got so many compliments on the dress and I loved every moment wearing it. Also I got the dress last year, but I see from other reviews that customer service at the shop may have changed so keep that in your consideration. read more

On the rack, the dress was not a love at first sight situation, however Kim pulled it and I tried it on. I was not confident in my body, but Kim made me feel super comfortable. TLDR: It's 2022. All body types deserve to have a pleasant, positive experience trying on wedding dresses. If we have the cash, you should be throwing open your doors to sell us stuff. If a store can't get on board with inclusive sizing by now they deserve to go out of business. This store is old and antiquated that caters to a very specific style of bride and they carry like a hundred size small dresses that all look exactly the same. If you are over a size 8 do not expect to be able to try *anything* on here and expect to be low key, and not so low key, shamed for your body. My appointment was rocky from the jump. Their appointment system is a joke. You can book online but its not actually booked unless they contact you to confirm. That's some nonsense right there. I did not get that double confirm so no appointment for me. They did accommodate me anyway, so I guess that was nice. I told them I had no budget and the styles I was into. I was told to look around and see if I liked anything. I really didn't, but I was open to try things unexpected and I already fed the meter for an hour. I was put into a room and the gal pulled a few dresses. I was then left to my own devices trying to get into them since I didn't show up with a ridiculous entourage of mommies, aunties and besties to "oooh" and "ahhhh" and fuss over me. It was just me, holding a red bag with my Louboutins and another bag of my foundation garments. I'm a street size 12. They have literally nothing in the main store at all over a size 8. And I was reminded of this over and over and over by the sales person that was "helping" me. She kept telling me "we don't have sizing here, you really need to make an appointment next door, they have sizing". Translation to me was "you are too fat for our dresses here we only work with skinny brides, you need to go next door and see if you can find an old discount dress to squeeze your fat ass into because you are wasting my time". I attempted to try on 3 different gowns in the main store, one that was so small she literally clipped it to my bra and left me there, ass hanging out, because it was a super small size and there are no mirrors in the dressing rooms, I had to go out into the store to see myself in their gallery of mirrors. How humiliating to stand there my underwear with with a dress I'm too fat for clipped to my bra that the salesperson encouraged me to "just try" while I stood next to a tiny little 22 year old size zero girl that needed clips to hold the tiny dress on her because it was too big for her - with her entourage of 5 other people looking on. I asked if I can look next door since nothing was really working for me to try on and once was enough of getting paraded out in the main store for all to witness my fatness. But nay, that's a separate and different appointment! They wouldn't even let me in the other store to see what they had. I left feeling extremely embarrassed and ashamed at my audacity to want a gown that I could have paid any amount for in cash on the spot, no asking daddy, no asking mommy, no entourage, money in my account ready to purchase a gown if I found one I liked. And seriously, has anyone in the history of the world forked over $10,000 to order a dress that's non-refundable and takes 8 months to make based on clipping a tiny dress to a much larger body like that? Like, what was even the motivation for that? Completely humiliate me so I'd leave faster? Lets talk about the dresses they had - the designs this shop choose to get from their designers all looked like the exact same versions of the same dress. Zero variety at all. I've been to several other bridal shops and all of them carried a variety of styles so I look back at the dresses I saw at Bridal Galleria and SMH. Moving on, I show up a week later to check out the sample dresses. They absolutely do not have "sizing". They have racks and racks of size 8 (or smaller!) gowns. Gorgeous, beautiful, one of a kind, can't be ordered dresses, many were damaged. Any size they had over a size 8 fit on one side of one rack that had 4" of space between each dress. There wasn't a single dress there I fit into. All but one was way too small, and that one was giant and extremely ugly. Again, I'm a size 12! A 12!!! I cannot even imagine how humiliated this store would make me feel if I was any bigger. I hated the entire experience with them. read more

Don't go here/buy from here! They're rude, unaccommodating and will make you feel bad when you're trying on dresses. I am a size 4 and heard from Grace that I have a problem with my body, not the dress - when one didn't fit quite right. It was beyond absurd. They say they're just "being honest," when they make pretty mean comments, but there's a big difference between constructive opinions and rude commentary. They also pad the lead times like crazy and really pressure you into ordering long before you need to. Needless to say, I'm going to LA to buy from the brand directly as they are happy to make things work with the dress and timeline and are incredibly nice and thoughtful in their communication. Could not have had a worse experience at Bridal Galleria and anyone who sells their dresses through them should think twice and consider switching to Jin Wang. They're amazing there!!! If this review was based on selection and style alone, I would definitely give Bridal Galleria 5 stars. Their gowns are all so beautiful and any girl would be lucky to have a dress from here. With that said, when I began my search, I told them my budget was $2,000. They informed me their dresses start from $2,500 and above. I thought to myself that it would be okay if I had to go up a little in my budget if I found the right dress. My consultant, Ann Marie brought out one dress out that was close to my budget. It was a nice gown, but a little plain. Then she brought out dresses by Reem Acra and Monique Lhuillier. All beautiful, but way over my budget (more than double the amount). I realized then that I would need to really increase my budget if I wanted one of the beautiful gowns hanging in the window. After searching through a few other boutiques like Marina Morrison, I finally went back to Bridal Galleria because 2 dresses by Alvina Valenta and Monique Lhuillier stood out above the rest. All the ladies there were so wonderful and patient helping me decide on the dress as I walked back and forth, looking at the mirror. I ended up choosing the Alvina Valenta gown. It felt like such a very special moment. My experience there so far had been great. My experience went a little downhill from there. At my 1st fitting, the seamstress didn't seems to really know how to create a nice bustle especially since my dress had many layers, all asymmetrical. We asked her if she could make lay nicer as it looked messy. One of the consultants had to come in and help her. Thankfully she did because she make it look awesome. During the 2nd fitting, another consultant was very brusk in showing my MOH's how to do the bustle. She kept saying it will take practice, but she wouldn't even let them go at it. I think she was in hurry to take her lunch break. I also pointed out that on all the layers, the edges were frayed. I knew it was part of the design, but some of the long threads were really sticking out. She assured me that it would be shaven off when I finally get my dress. On the 3rd fitting, I just needed a few minor adjustments. I spent about $350 total in alterations and another $50 for them to steam, press & stuff my dress. I mentioned about my concern again regarding the frayed edges and again, they assured it would be shaven off. I also pointed out an area that poufed out and didn't lay flat. Again, she assured me this would be taken care of because I payed for the steaming. When I picked up my gown, I didn't get to try on the dress. I just saw the top part and I thought it would be fine. On the wedding day, as I pulled out the dress I noticed they didn't shave off the edges at all! Not even touched a bit. The area she assured me would get steamed and pressed? Nope. Why did I pay so much to have them prep my dress if they weren't even going to do what I asked? I felt cheated. I spent more than double my original budget, but I didn't get the quality or service I felt I should have. I really like this boutique and most of their consultants. I would recommend taking a look and trying on their dresses, but I do not recommend getting alterations done here. read more

I'm wondering if Bridal Galleria is aware that there is an alterations shop called Lucy's in San Bruno that constantly name-drops their boutique with new clients in order to seem like a reputable establishment. I can only imagine the horror of spending thousands of dollars on a gorgeous couture gown a Bridal Galleria only to be referred to a subpar "associate seamstress" when their in-house alterations orders are backlogged. There is a stark contrast between the ambiance at Bridal Galleria and Lucy's. Bridal Galleria, if you truly associate yourself with Lucy, then I am beyond disappointed in your business. You should value your brides more than this and fully research your associates before referring clients out. I've lost count of how many brides I met and read reviews on that were sent to Lucy's only to leave in tears. Please enlighten me and say it ain't so! Bridal Galleria an amazing business and I can't fathom that you would fraternize with a seamstress who does not care about her clients and treats the gowns like she owns a chop shop. So I ask this: Do you really refer your clients to Lucy's or is she taking advantage of the Bridal Galleria's good name for her own personal gain? I'm willing to update this review if you truly aren't aware this is happening. If you ARE aware, I strongly suggest that you stop referring your brides to her. Shonna is the person who helped me find my dream dress. She was absolutely amazing, patient and knowledgeable. This review is specific to the receptionist scheduling the appointments. I got my wedding dress from Bridal Galleria years ago and was so excited to see that they were still in business to make an appointment for my sister. Well, the receptionist was so rude and condescending when I asked about styles that were available - told me I didn't know what I was talking about and that it has "been a while". I cancelled the appointment before ever going in again. Not the level of customer service you want when arranging such an important day. Such an attitude could easily take the joy out of the day and I couldn't risk that. Too bad. read more

I decided to check this place out after seeing that one of my favorite dress designers will be here for a trunk show. Being the impulsive buyer that I am, I bought my dress that day! I actually had a really good experience here and didn't feel like they were talking down at me or anything. I think they just try to make sure that we're not wasting each other's time by having you come in if all the dresses were above $2k and it's out of your budget. :) My consultant was super nice and she even let me know what brand my veil was so I can shop for a cheaper one else where if I wanted to! :) My dress was BEAUTIFUL and came in early! Most of my friends and I have bought our wedding dresses here so I would definitely recommend it! read more

What a LET DOWN!!! I have been admiring the display window of this store since I met my fiance. Basically for as long as I imagined being a bride, I have been drooling here. After a fun jaunt at Glamour Closet, this was my first choice in full service bridal salon, first stop and boy was I disappointed. "If this is what it's gonna be like, this is really gonna suck!" I thought, about the process. There are some beautiful dresses here, like the ones in the window. The problem is that I felt like I wasn't being heard. Having me try on dress after dress that went against what was important to me (slimming and bust modest) and what I know I like - completely exhausting! I don't enjoy seeing what doesn't look good on me. And when I tried to point out why something wasn't working out I got more of an argument than an understanding. We could have worked together to try on more dresses I would like. Instead I felt like we were adversaries and ended up with a weak top choice. I appreciate that this store can offer you customization but it's at the same level as other high end stores. It's HUGE disadvantage is that there's almost no browsing and very little input on your part as to what gowns you want to try. However, if you're a bride with very little direction and a weak fashion sense (and can be honest with yourself about this, because hey that's cool) this place could do the thinking for you. If you have a strong opinion you may find yourself frustrated here. read more

I had Lana as my consultant and I found THE dress here. I went into the Bridal Galleria not really serious about buying a dress because I knew they were designer gowns and the prices were sky high. I had visited several wedding gown boutiques before and my best friend really urged me to try Bridal Galleria just to "look" because "you never know." How right she was!! I was beginning to feel disheartened because began to believe in THE dress didn't exist. I sat in the dressing room with my best friend and joked that I'll never find this dress when Lana strolled in with a garment bag. She told me it was a little bit above my budget but that I should see it anyway. The moment she hung the dress up (I didn't even put it on), my mouth fell, and I teared up. I grabbed my best friend arm, and said, "Oh my God. This is my dress." I of course continued to try on dresses after that because it was twice as what I would hope to spend, but that dress was glued to my brain. I purchased it a month or so after that. The year following that, Lana continued to be patient with me as I struggled with the fit of the dress. I wanted to change the silhouette from an A-line to a fit-and-flare. Carmen was SO patient with me. I don't know how many times I visited, but I was freaking out more and more as the days drew nearer. Sometimes I felt like I couldn't make up my mind and could cry. Despite all of my craziness, Carmen and Lana both did such a wonderful job. I know I was wearing on their patience, but they stood by anyway. I don't understand how can people in this wedding business can be rude and unfriendly. Although some people get married a few times, but MOST OF US only get married ONCE, okay? and each of you who was in this wedding planning process will be remembered forever! I got married years ago, my dress was a beautiful Lazaro dress which I'll cherish forever. I found my dress here at Bridal Galleria, the experience of arrival here was NO GOOD. I loved the dress so much I even forgot about the snooty associate and went for it. I still remember her unfriendly attitude. Before I found THE DRESS, each time she brought a dress to me, she'd say, this is blah blah blah designer dress, very EXPENSIVE (aka, you can't afford it ). I mean, girls that walk in your door have done enough research and are aware of the price and most importantly, and CAN AFFORD the dress, alright? The 4 stars are one generous review because I love my dress, and during my 2 fittings other staffs were nice ( and the mean lady wasn't there ). read more

What should have been a wonderful experience was ruined by a dingy atmosphere and a lack of service and hospitality. When we arrived, our consultant didn't offer us any water or champagne as we had experienced in other salons. We were a little disappointed because we wanted the experience to feel special, but then it got worse. She led us into a narrow hallway of dressing rooms with a filthy brown carpet and plastic chairs added as an after thought. It felt like a place where me daughter should be trying on jeans not a $6,000 wedding gown. The consultant did not listen to my daughter's request. She came here specifically for Lazaro dresses as they are an exclusive carrier in the Bay Area, but the consultant kept pushing the trunk show dresses of a different designer and Ines Di Santo. My daughter left the store without even being shown a Lazaro dress. Every single dress she tried on was over our $5,000 budget. We all left the salon in a melancholy mood.
