Do NOT get alterations done here. You should probably skip Brides & Grooms for wedding dresses as well. Let's be honest, I went here for the price and I got a good price on a wedding dress from a 4 year old collection. I bet if I looked around I could have gotten that price elsewhere, but not much better. So if you've got the dress in mind and you want a price check this place is fine. that's as good as this store gets Customer service is terrible. There is one person in the shop that does 90% of the work from what I can tell, she's the store manager (potential relative of owner). The rest are pretty much worthless. You can call ahead but appointments are not written down. I don't need to be pampered so I like that you pull your own dresses, for some that could be a problem. Best part - while trying on dresses you can hear the store manager taking calls from upset customers... and the calls never stop. Wrong sizes ordered, dresses late, bridesmaids dresses shipped to the wrong location... oh the stories are endless and all end with the customer saying to the store manager "I refuse to talk to anyone but you in this store again." but the heart of the matter is that the person in charge of alterations (might be the owner) is terrible. she will lie to you and argue with you. After charging me near $300 for alterations she will fight to only do one round of alterations. I got my altered dress and thought it was a bit long and still lose at the waist. She said - "that's what wedding dresses look like." I trust her and I take my dress cross country for my wedding and the lady who pressed my dress took one look at me in it and started hemming it... 3 inches off and you still couldn't see my shoes (yes same shoes I wore for the original alterations). And without my commenting on the waist she said "you ok with me taking this in a bit?" So the second lady did all the real work for less than HALF the price of Brides & Grooms. How do they stay in business? I made an appointment to order my bridesmaid dress, but when I got there I had to wait 25 minutes before someone was able to help me. Then it took another half hour for them to order the dress because the woman kept getting confused about the ordering process (RED FLAG!) THREE of the dresses came in completely wrong (not to mention way later than the time frame we were given), and they offered no apologies or solutions, only saying "it's not our fault" and blaming it on the manufacturer. If it was in fact the manufacturer's fault, it's the job of the dress shop to fix the problems. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! read more

I wish I could give zero stars to this sad excuse of a dress store. I came in to Brides & Grooms to look for a maid of honor dress for my best friend, Cindy was the one "assisting" us. Once we found the one we liked, she got fitted and her bust and hips were a completely different size than her waist. After contemplating which size she should order, I asked what the size different in inches was from her waist compared to her bust/hips. Cindy said "her hips and bust are a size two, her waist is a six, and that's a two inch difference. So if she wanted to get the size two then she shouldn't eat for two months". Excuse me?? How dare you say something so horrible like that. She is a small, petite girl, and you're going to go and tell her to not eat for two months? Females have a difficult time with their appearance as is, then you go and destroy and confidence they have in a nanosecond with that comment. I will never come back here, and we will make sure to tell everyone we know to not come back here. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE. I brought a dress in to be altered (hemmed and cups put in). They said it was going to cost $100 which I knew was way too high but I just wanted to take the dress in and have it done right and be on my way. I thought bc they're a bridal shop I had nothing to worry about. Little did I know that the person doing the alterations would get a huge stain on the chest of the dress. Pretty frustrating but I get that things happen. I left and told them I'd be back the next day to pick up the dress. I leave work early to come get the dress and as soon as I see it it's apparent that there is now an even bigger stain on it. I now have to come back a third time to pick up the dress that I already overpaid to have altered. They did manage to get the majority of the stain out, however, they made no effort at all to make it right. A saleswoman apologized to me the second day but that was it. On the third day I was told I had to call and speak to the owner if I wanted anything done but she wouldn't be back in the store for another 2 days. When I spoke to the owner she was very condescending and dismissive towards me. She asked me why it was her problem and why would they ever refund any of my money since I'd already paid. I told her the right thing to do would've been to try to make it right on her own without me having to reach out to her but she told me I was being ridiculous and they'd gladly keep my money then she abruptly hung up on me. Please do not spend your money lining the pockets of such a rude person who refuses to do the right thing. You do not want to be stuck with a ruined dress on your wedding day and an owner who refuses to go above and beyond to help fix an issue that she created. read more

I completely agree with Carol. Carmen is very nice but after multiple calls to the store she told me that the dress would be ready by Aug. 10th. (Shipped Aug.3rd from California). By Aug. 10th, I called again and it wasn't ready yet and she said it is a guarantee that the dress would be in by next week (Aug. 16th). Today is that next week as I am about to head down to the shop I called only to find out from the owner Young that the dress has not arrived. It just got shipped out today instead from China!!! Early on when I first ordered the dress I told Carmen that I no longer live here in the states and that I live in Toronto now. I told her how important it was for me to know the correct date to come down to fit the dress. I took time off from work to come down and I bused for 12 hours to get down here only to find myself extremely disappointed and furious. What a waste of time!!!!!! I'll have to make another special trip down just to fit the dress. When I spoke to the owner, she said that I should have spoken to her instead of Carmen. However, Carmen represented the company and I should not have to speak to the owner directly to believe what her employees are telling me. Owner should have taken responsibility as well. When asked for some sort of mometary compensation for everything, the owner said no. No to refund either. She was not accomodating at all. She could deliver the dress directly to me with no alterations but that would mean that I'll have to find a place to do so when I already paid for the alterations. I don't ever think this company will ever find another bride like me where I already knew what dress I wanted the minute I walked in. I purchased the dress on the spot after 15 minutes and this is the kind of treatment I get!! All brides deserved better service than this especially knowing how hectic weddings are. Awful customer experience. I would not suggest going for bridal. I called and asked about my budget over the phone, she said that was fine and I'd be able to find dresses in my budget. I was there a half hour and didn't interact with my consultant once. She told me to go and look for dresses in their large selection (I will give them that) but searching through bags on my own is tough and you don't really know what style or type they always are. We were just standing around waiting for her with the 2 dresses I found. A different lady put us in a room and we were just waiting. My lady finally comes in and pretty much tells me my budget is too low and I should come back when they have trunk shows because then their prices are reduced. She acted as if I was such an inconvenience to her and she couldn't get me out fast enough. read more

Absolute works experience ever!! My bridal party ordered 7 dresses from Brides & Grooms and our groomsmen (including dads) rented 9 tuxes. Initially we were greeted warmly but as soon as the B&G got their money they were awful! 2 of the ladies dresses had completely wrong sizes ordered. Alterations were a new form of hell for the ladies as the seamstress was rude and the staff was unresponsive. We ended up having to take several of the dresses to other shops to actually fix the initial alterations. 7 out of the 9 tuxes were completely wrong (missing jackets & shirts, wildly incorrect measurements, no cufflinks). When the guys went for the alternations again the seamstress was completely rude and dismissive she yelled saying that she was too busy dealing with prom season. I would not recommend this store for anything!! Unfortunately we spent a lot of money there and were treated disrespectfully and had too much added stress. After repeated concerns and complaints management was unapologetic and clearly could care less. I advise you take you business anywhere but here. read more

It is the best place to get a dress for any formal occasion. I have purchased a few from them and they are excellent! All of the girls are wonderful, especially, Marie &. Kariann whom I worked with personally. I did need alterations, and they were done with the utmost care and quality standards. This place is top notch, and it is made only better by the personal service of a family run business. My niece is now shopping there for her prom gown, and it looks as though this bridesmaid may get her chance at being a bride, at some point, so I might be back again sometime to buy another dress in the near future! Purchased my daughter's wedding gown, 7 bridesmaid dresses, 2 flower girl dresses. The one flower girl dress still had the dress pins in it and stabbed her before the wedding. They never completed the alterations. The owner has not even given me a call back since Aug 21st when I went into the store to discuss. Would think that since we couldn't get pictures with the flower girl (daughter of the bride & groom) due to the fact she couldn't walk in the dress. They refuse to even call me let alone give a refund on the dress that is useless now. Manager apologized and said she would have owner call me but almost a month later she hasn't. Do not use this store.I will first say that the alterations to the dress were perfect and my sister looked beautiful. However, it is a shame that she had to go through such turmoil to get to that point. Bridal salons should make the bride feel special and help when they make mistakes. My sister had a horrible experience with the store ordering the wrong gown (Newark location). Lucky for them there was a gown available in the designer warehouse and they were able to get the gown in 2 weeks. However, they offered no apology, and we had to push to get a discount on the alterations, and they still almost tried to make her pay a rush fee for alterations, when it was their fault. The owner is extremely rude, unapologetic, and unaccommodating. My mother also bought her MOB gown there. The owner tried to make her pay in full for alterations before having them done, telling her that if she wouldn't pay in full "then you can get them done somewhere else". Less then 2 minutes later another MOB came up and she told them they didn't have to pay in full until alterations were complete. When confronted, she denied she ever said my mother had to pay in full, when she said this in front of a few people, who all confirmed she had. DO NOT have the owner do alterations, if you must go there. When my mother went in to get her alterations at an appt she had made, the seamstress was not there. The owner said she would pin it. My mother is familiar with sewing and knew something was not right, but could not point it out. Luckily, the seamstress arrived and re-pinned the dress. She told my mom (quietly because it seems everyone is afraid of the owner) that it had been pinned completely wrong and crooked. If you read reviews (google them), you will see that others have experiences of the store ordering the wrong dress/size/color, treating the clients in a rude manor after they have made mistakes, not apologizing, not offering refunds for their mistakes and inconveniences. The staff seems to be afraid of the owner. Interesting that their FB page only allows comments to the posts. I guess I wouldn't either if I treated brides that way. read more

I had a terrible experience with alterations from this shop after purchasing a dress for my son's wedding. At the first fitting, the dress needed hemming and taken in a little on the top. After 2 more fittings, and it still was not corrected, No one seemed to know what they were doing. When the store got busy, they just left you standing there-I finally just took the dress home and had it altered privately 3 days before the wedding. What really got me was the attitude of the people there-they did not care. I would NEVER go there again, and I think the only reason they have any customers is because several shops in the Wilmington/Newark area have closed. I have been going to Brides and grooms since high school (and have been referring people there since) and I will NEVER go again. I don't know what happened in the last two years but it has gone so downhill. EVERY SINGLE bridesmaid dress was ordered TOO BIG - the whole "dresses run smaller" is BULL CRAP! My entire parties dresses and tuxes were wrong (thankfully, my dress was good) - but when you spend THOUSANDS of dollars in one shop for every piece of formal wear for a wedding - you expect better service. When confronted about the dress sizes, I was told "oh the girls are overreacting, they aren't that big".... After speaking to others who had their bridesmaids dresses there - and hearing they had the same issue - We all FULLY BELIEVE it is a SCHEME to get more money by way of alterations!!!!!!!! Not to mention, when measured for tuxes - we got told the pants were slim fit and even though she measured my father as a 38 waist (he wears a 32 waist pant) she ensured us that she was right in her measurements and the pants were slim fit. Let me tell you, he could've fit a PUMPKIN in his pants and when they ordered new ones, they were the SAME ONES - the girl did not order new pants. It was INFURIATING. When my brother tried his on that same girl was so rude when we said the tux wash;t right and said "whats wrong with THIS tux" like it was OUR FAULT SHE CANT MEASURE CORRECTLY! Incompetence!!! DO NOT GO HERE for anything!!!!!!!! Unless you want to spend DOUBLE on bridesmaid dresses. Since my previous review seems to never show up, I'm reiterating that this place is the absolute worst bridal salon I've ever dealt with, and I've been a bridesmaid eight times. Ordered the wrong dress for one bridesmaid, had the bride come in for a fitting from NYC and had forgotten to do any work from her previous appointment, and totally screwed up the alterations to my dress. The seamstress is rude and customer service is non existent. I called back for months without any return calls. Absolute, bottom of the barrel, low tier service. I ordered my wedding dress from this shop, and the visit when I picked it out was pretty good. The salesperson was nice and she was patient while I tried on a ton of dresses. Everything after that point has been horrible. They said the dress would be in in March, but when I called in April it had not come in and no one had even noticed. Then they called the warehouse and the dress came in, but the veil was missing and again no one noticed until we pointed it out. Then they pinned the dress for alterations, but shipped it to me in another state without actually doing the alterations! I would not recommend this store to anyone. They are not trustworthy and will not keep track of the details to make sure your wedding dress is correct and available on time. read more

Not impressed. I went here with my future daughter in law and her bridesmaids.I am the mother of the groom and was also looking for a gown. Place was packed, very small, gowns everywhere you walked, couldn't find help when you needed it, pretty much on your own. The bride to be and her bridesmaids were told to wait while they get them a room to try on some gown which took quite some time and she had a appointment. I am not small but I am not a big woman either and if you need a bigger size you are pretty much out of luck. When I told the saleswoman what I was looking for she brought me 1 gown to try on and it was horrible. She told me it looked great! No thanks. I would not recommend this place, it seems that they make a lot of mistakes. I ordered my bridesmaid dress in January (and paid for it in full), and they told me it'd be in by mid-May. It finally arrived end of June, which is only 1 month from the wedding AND I live out of state which makes everything more difficult. I never got a phone call or anything from this place regarding the dress, and when I called they didn't seem to know much about what was going on. Once the dress finally came in, one of the other bridesmaids sent it to me with expedited 2-day shipping just so I'd get it in time for alterations. I also heard they messed up 2 of the other bridesmaid's orders--the dress the girls picked out apparently weren't available in their chosen color (we all had slightly different colors), but the girls didn't find that out for weeks! This is something the store/employee should have known THAT DAY. Lastly, and this isn't a huge deal but just goes to show their level of professionalism, is they had my name spelled wrong on the receipt that came with my dress. I am not a traditional bride. I do not want a big fluffy white dress. More power to those who do but it's just not for me. My maid of honor suggested we stop by there and look at the bridesmaid/mother of the bride/prom dresses to see if there would maybe be something I'd like. The owner/manager started trying to sell me white dresses with these horribly gaudy gold and fake gemstone appliques on them. So I showed him a couple of dresses I might like and he got angry. They weren't as expensive and he was interested in making the most money he could. So he refused to help me. He said I could pick out a dress on my own and he would order it. I wasn't allowed to try anything on. I had to pay for the dress when it was ordered and if it didn't fit properly or I didn't like it, tough luck, no returns. It wasn't going to be custom either- just ordering dress A in color B with size C- a normal purchase. The whole point, to me, of going into a store for clothes is to actually try something on or to have some assistance. I might as well just shop online. read more

Myself , daughter and wedding party bought our gowns at Brides and Grooms , what a huge mistake, my daughters dress is two sizes to big, were never called telling us the dresses were in and the day of the fitting were handed the dresses and the salesperson just left and went to the next poor customer. Carmen was nice but I picked up my gown for my son's wedding on Aug 06 which was supposed to be ready Aug 2. My son's wedding was Aug 11. I was told I did not need to try it on and was sent packing. The shoulder straps did not feel right and were too tight. I had to adjust the entire night. Gown costs $400 with alterations. I called the owner after the wedding an asked her to reverse my alterations fee and she hung up on me. I called her back and she said strapless gowns always fall down and so I reminded her that I had straps and they were not falling down but uncomfortable. She said she did her best and I would get no refund. Would not recommend this place read more

I went with my three bridesmaids and they basically let us run all over the place, trying on anything and everything. We were never rushed, they were very helpful. The only reason that I do not give it five stars is that things are a little unorganized and I often had to make follow up phone calls. Often when I called, only certain people were able to find the information I needed, so I made a lot of follow up phone calls. I would still recommend this place. read more

I, as a Mother of the bride am so pleased with this shop and have recommended it to all that I know who have daughters getting married. I called every bridal shop from Dover to Wilmington,about 15, because my daughter found a dress on line that nobody carried. All the shops but this on just hung up on me. This shop offered to order it just so we can see it. It was the one and they ordered it in her size. Because they were the ONLY shop that would work with us we also got bridesmaid dresses, my dress, MOG dress, and I also bought a dress for a friend who also had a daughter getting married.I found the WHOLE staff to be helpful and I have to say fun. My dress needed two alterations, got charged only once and they were very gracious about. Of all the prep. for our wedding the experience at Brides and Grooms was the most painless. read more

Like every bride I was more excited then anything to go dress shopping. All started out well at Brides and Grooms and it ended up being the only shop I went with for my wedding. So in total 9 dresses were purchased as well as my veil.... How quickly after all thousands of dollars spent at the business did the customer service plummet and my experiences went from me bragging about this business and referring multiple other brides to writing this review... The bridesmaids dresses came in first and my maid of honors dress was brought out with the wrong color sash...After waiting 6 months and not hearing anything about anything else, I called and found out that my BRIDAL GOWN was delivered and no one had contacted me. When I went for my fitting with my mother... we discovered that her dress was actually in as well and she also, had never received a call. I put on my dress which was enormous!!! I was so upset thinking drastic alterations are going to ruin the dress... I turn around and my assistance was gone. I was told by the owner that the sales person's bride came in so she would no longer be helping me but that she, the owner, would. I turn my back again and she had then walked off to help another bride downstairs and I was left standing there in a huge wedding dress. A couple weeks ago they did call and tell me that my junior bridesmaids dress was in. I told them that since I was there I would be picking up that dress which they could not find!!! I told the staff about how unhappy with the customer service and I was told that they understand this is a time for high running emotions and they completely discounted my feelings... I was told that they were sorry but there was nothing they could do about my experience...Other customers in the store were in agreement and when I told the owner that I would never be stepping foot in her business again the others joined in...I believe this store has taken in more inventory, more clients, and more business then they can handle. I feel that once you put your money in they couldn't care less about your experience...This is not the way i expected to be treated the first time I tried on the dress of my dreams and I wouldn't wish this on anyone! i strongly encourage you to NEVER use this store and don't be fooled by the phoniness you see before your drop thousands of dollars!!! I purchased my wedding gown and 7 bridesmaids dresses from here. I purchased my bridal gown with no problems however my MOH's dress arrived in the incorrect size with a handwritten note on the receipt saying "change from 8 to 6" (I picked up the dress b/c MOH lives out of state). I spoke to Faith who I had been dealing with all along and had a good experience with and she said Yung, the owner was not there and that the dress could be taken out for $59. I explained to Faith that I never made this change and did not feel that my MOH should have to pay for this error. She said my only option was to pay for the alteration and that Yung would not alter the dress for no charge and walked away from me saying "I'm sorry I don't know what else to tell you". I followed Faith calmly asking her to call Yung who was at their Baltimore store so I would know whether or not to leave the dress for her to fix (as I live out of state). She was very hesitant and did not want to call her telling me they don't like to bother Yung and she is very overwhelmed...totally discounted MY inconvenience. She finally called and explained to Yung that the dress came in the wrong size and I could hear Yung yelling at her. Faith hung up saying Yung said to have the dress taken out would be $69! I maintained that this was unacceptable as my MOH was one of two bridesmaids that I actually gave measurements for and the assoc told me my MOH's measurements were a size 8 so we would have NEVER made a size change. There were no initials, no date, no "per bride's request" on this note. Faith's colleague then spoke to me suggesting I come back to discuss it with Yung in person and Faith shakes her head saying "no you should call". (Call so the same thing can happen to me that just happened to you???) Faith then said "do you want things to be worse...like yelling and screaming?" I couldn't believe she tried to discourage me from coming back after I had been working with her for several months and to insinuate that Yung would yell and scream at us! Well I went home and to my surprise I see the many reviews about Yung's nastiness and how MANY people have had wrong sizes come in. Needless to say I returned and spoke to Yung who was pleasant at first but as soon as I said who I was she immediately got nasty saying "You change size...you change size!" She was so nasty I had to stop her and remind her that my wedding party has spent THOUSANDS in her shop and I found another boutique closer to my home that had better prices (I live out of state)...but because I liked Faith in the beginning I wanted to give them my business since they price matched. I told her about having given my MOH's measurements to one of her assoc and had the text message to prove it which was sent to me the day the order was placed! She calmed right down and agreed to take the dress out for NO CHARGE. I wanted to give this boutique rave reviews but as soon as something went wrong their total lack of respect and customer service was revealed!! read more

When they were supposed to be in, she called to find out when the girls could pick them up and they had never ordered them. When they did come in, the alterations weren't done right, and the matron of honor had to go back three times. They still didn't fix the dress and then said they didn't have any of the material to fix it. They tried to blame it on her saying she didn't tell them that she wanted it altered and yet they had charged the extra amount for the alteration. If i could give less stars I would. read more

The associates are rude and unprofessional. I originally went to the Delaware store but they didn't have a large plus size selection for prom dresses. So I ended up purchasing my daughters prom dress from the Maryland store and it wasn't until we got home where we noticed the dress had a couple of holes and rips in the dress. since we live in Delaware I asked the local store assistant manager Ally what can they do to assist us in making this right. her response was, we already got a 20% discount for purchasing a dress from off of the rack. I explained they didn't advertise the reason for the discount was for damages but that the discount was due to it being prom season. she says well we wouldn't advertise it that way. I asked could we exchange, or look for another she said no. she wasn't helpful at all. she just said call the store where you purchased it from..so I hung up because her tone and conversation started becoming offensive and disrespectful. I would recommend ordering a new dress instead of purchasing from the rack. very deceiving and not honest people. read more

I came in for my appointment in March with Moriah. Knowing my wedding was in September I knew I needed to find something and came in planning to buy that day. I had a larger party with me and she went out of her way to get us into the larger dressing room with the couch (it is a small place with a HUGE selection). I appreciated this so the girls were able to sit and relax. I am a very decisive person so I knew pretty quickly which dress was 'the one' and it was all Moriah's picking. She listened to the type of dress I thought I wanted and kept it in my price range and I was not overwhelmed. I just got the call this week (end of May) that my dress was in. I was nervous of how long it may take due to it being a special order but it only took about 2 months. Everyone I spoke with has been super friendly and the dress was extremely affordable for how incredibly beautiful it is (Rebecca Ingram dress - I will post a pic after the wedding, just In case ;) I highly recommend this salon and if I lived closer I would have absolutely had my bridesmaids come to look for their dresses there. thanks again! read more

I wish that I could give negative stars. DO NOT go to this store. My sister was under the impression that she was getting a brand new dress - after all that is what she paid for and ordered. She goes to try her dress on, is told they can't find her dress.. then after half an hour the clerk finds the dress. My sister goes to try it on, finds the beading coming undone and a big note stating that the dress needed to be cleaned. Brand new dresses that are ordered do not get sent to the cleaners by the shop. When confronted, the clerk said that it WAS a brand new dress and they would never do something like that. Very long story short, my sister got some of her money back but it was not without having to jump through many hoops, getting the run around from the owner and treated like assholes. The bridesmaids also ordered their dresses here - had they not called to see if the dresses were in, neither the bride or bridesmaids would have known they were ready. I will never return to this shop. In search of an evening gown for a pageant, I was also hoping to find my go-to store. I was the only customer in the store at the time and Marie was helpful and willing to work with me. However, after purchasing the dress and meeting with the owner regarding alterations, everything went down hill. The second my payment went through I became an inconvenience. The owner didn't listen to anything I said regarding my botched alteration. After telling her on 3 separate occasions to fix the SAME THING, she still did not fix her mistake and refused to refund the money for the alterations. When I told her I wasn't pleased, she proceeded to scream at my mother and I before throwing our receipt in the trash and telling us never to come back. When she heard I was in need of more gowns, she said she would "fix it" in attempt to make amends. If you buy a dress here, get the alterations done elsewhere. I personally will never return here again. Now I'm in search of a seamstress that can hopefully correct the mistakes made by the owner of the store. read more

This place is the most ridiculous place I have ever dealt with. I already wrote a review for the experience with the dresses, so I won't go into that again, but they just can't seem to get anything right. The only reason I chose to go back to this store is because they advertised a free veil to anyone who purchased their dress in 2014. I went in to look at veils and not one associate helped me. I had to locate the veils myself, find a spot to try them on, and find the sample of my dress to see if they went...all while they just walked right by us. When I purchased the veil in January, I ordered a cathedral length with 6 inches added to it. I called at the end of March to get an update and see if the veil was in and I was told that it would be shipped April 10th. Just a couple days later, I was called and told that my veil was in. I picked it up and went to my mom's to try it on. SURPRISE...it was not my veil. The veil they sent me was only fingertip length. I called the store right away and was told they accidentally gave me someone else's and that mine was still being shipped on the 10th. We waited until the 22nd, called the store back and asked if it was in for pickup. The lady on the phone told us that it was, and when we asked her to double check so we didn't waste a second trip, she came back stating that it was not in. I don't understand the confusion. Had I just driven to pick up the veil without having them check, I most likely would have had someone else's veil again. I just called the store today to get clarification as to where my veil was. I was told that the veil was shipped without the added length and had to be reordered and wouldn't be in until July. I ordered the veil in January! I don't understand why this store cannot get things right...EVER! I still have someone else's veil and when I told the store that, they thought I had already dropped it off. I can't imagine what they told that bride. I will never deal with this place again as they are the most unprofessional and unorganized place I have ever been to. go spend your money at a business that appreciates their customers and the work that they do. read more

Buying my bridal gown was okay, however ordering gowns for my bridal party was an entirely different story. Four of my 6 bridesmaids dresses were ordered in the wrong size. The store never called me to tell me the dress came in and when I called them to confirm my dresses arrived I went to the store and waited over an hour just to find out that the store either didnt get them in or they misplaced them. The store would only reorder one and the rest of the girls were asked to get alterations made because there was "not enough time to reorder from the vendor". The store would not give us a price on alterations and then messed up each alterations. The hems on the dresses were too short, clasps were messed up, zippers wouldnt zip; it was a nightmare. After spending hundreds of dollars on alterations for myself and my bridal party, I had to take the dresses to another store to fix bride and grooms mistakes. Also, the store owner refused to answer or return my phone calls. I would never recommend purchasing a dress from here. read more

Where do I start! My sister used Brides and Grooms for her bridesmaids dresses. After we all paid and 8 weeks passes, my sister called to see if the dresses were in. Well, they were never ordered and the owner was blaming us for not paying. Once they realized we did pay they ordered the dresses with no apologies! They came in and I decided to have my alterations done there to make it easy. I needed quite a bit taken off the bottom and I wanted fabric added to the bust. I was told it would not be a problem and paid $120.00 to have this done. When I went to picked up the dress there was no fabric added to the bust. The owner immediately blamed me saying I didn't ask for it. I took the receipt that was stapled to the plastic over the dress and showed her where it was written on there. Why woudl I pay $120 for just a hem!!!!!!!!!!! After arguing for about 2 minutes she agreed to find the matching fabric and told me to come back in a week and it would be done. I went back and NOTHING was done! I didn't even get a call sayinig they couldn't find matching fabric to add to the bust! They threw out the fabric from the bottom of the dress and now they couldn't fix it. Another employee ended up altering the top of the dress so my bust wasn't overflowing and of course the owner was magically not there when I went to pick it up. I asked for a refund on the alterations and was denied! Also, the stitching where she altered the dress ripped before I even made it to the ceremony. I had to safety pin the dress! What a nightmare! I complained again and was denied any refund! So...I paid $120 to have no fabric added and to have what they did do rip! The owner is very unreasonable and very unpleasant! I woul NEVER recommend this store to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Making a mistake is one thing but not owning up to and trying to make it right is another. I would not recommend brides and grooms to anyone who I know getting married. I called and asked if they had a dress I was looking for and they said they did. They told me they would be bringing it up from their other store just for me. After a week of not hearing back from them I called to see if they had received the dress. They told me yes and set up an apt for me to come in just 4 days later. I drove to the store from Delaware from Philadelphia which was stressful enough because I was not firmialr with the area... but to add to my stress the address that they listed on their website took us to an empty parking lot. We then had to drive around and find the store on our own which is not anywhere near the address that was listed. Once we arrived to the store I told them about the address situation.... They laughed (I am still not sure why it is funny) I then waited with my 8 months pregnant sister and mother for 45 min .... Only to finally be told they accidentally sold the dress they had put on a hold for me. THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME! read more

I would not recommend this dress shop to anyone. They were not helpful and extremely rude. I went into the shop to ask them to order a swatch from my bridesmaids dresses to match my flowers and men's ties and they said it was all ordered and would be in in less than two weeks. They never called so I finally stopped by over three weeks later and it was still not there and actually never ordered. I went in a few weeks after that and they still had not ordered it after saying they did for the second time so they finally just cut me a piece out of the book because I needed it that badly. The owner physically snatched a paper out of my moms hand and yelled at her in the store when my mom simply asked a question about a dress size they had messed up. Every single dress, all seven of my bridesmaids, had to have alterations and none fit even closely. They were not cooperative or even apologetic for any of the mistakes THEY made. Very unprofessional and unorganized. The only documentation they had for my girls dresses was on a ripped up envelope they wrote the sizes on. I give this boutique a 2 becuase my sales person, Britney was extremely helpful the first day I walked into the store but that all quickly changed when I dealt with muktiple sales asaociates there after. I am a bride and Britney was nice enough to help me with my dress selection and was very friendly. I actually bought 2 dresses (ceremony &reception) dress right off the racks. She was helpful that particular day but then things made an unexpected turn when I called to inquire about my bridal party, she gave me the expectation that she would call me back to resolve my concerns at the end of business because she had a bride in front of her and instead she did not follow through. (Poor business etiquette). When it was time for my bridesmaids to purchase their dresses, we all went in together. I tried my dresses on just before closing that day and my mother in law noticed the associates were in such a rush to leave that they turned the lights off on me when I came out the fitting room. RUDE! In addition, My Matron of Honor ordered her dress in February this year and paid her deposit as requested, the remainder of the bridal party came in April 4th and got measured, paid deposits and I was assured orders would go out that Monday. So I called and they in fact said they were doing the order. We called in May, to have the Maid of honor's dress ordered only to find that they incorrectly ordered a bridesmaid dress. While they agreed to eat the cost and order another dress the estimated delivery date went from 3-4 months to about 6 months (in total) from the date the bridesmaid had originally ordered her dress. When I called this week, I spoke with Nicole about the status of our dresses and she was rude at firt. She later toned things down when I explained how many issies we had. She proceeded to blame other employees and states she had been there 9 years etc. (but why cant you all reaolve my issues efficiently). Some of associates are totally unprofessional and throw each other under the bus (pointing fingers) rather then being accountable for the errors collectively. Nicole went from saying 1 dress was in a month ago to oh no its not in at all. She then said the dresses are expected in August or September, then said oh no they should be shipping in 10 days. So when will we have all of our dresses that we have PAID deposits for 4 months ago! No one is accountable. So my MOH who ordered in February now has to wait until August/September to get her dress. (Meanwhile we may need alterations) They are dragging their feet and rather then calling the conpany and getting this sorted out, they are busy blaming each other, not returning phone calls and arguing wih clients on the phone. This is an unacceptable timeframe, poor behavior and they will not own up to THEIR MISTAKES. I asked for the manager and oh, she is on vacation and leaves no one in charge..Really! So I am told to call in a week when she returns. Their communication stinks, no one knows who's hand was last in your "envelope" and then they tell you dresses were ordered on a certain date and have arrived, just to call back and say no they havent arrived. (But they have your money). Dresses should NOT take 5-6 months to come in! Not to mention they ordered the wrong dress for a bridesmaid and had to reorder the dress (which is coming in later then expected). I bought TWO wedding dresses from them plus 5 members of the bridal party paid deposits for dresses. All the money they got they should be recovering by rushing our dresses! TERRIBLE BUSINESS! I would not recommend this dress shop to ANYONE!!!!!! Originally was told alterations for bridesmaids dresses would be $89 MAX no more. The owner herself (Chinese woman) charged all my bridesmaids $100 even after explaining to her that is not what we were told by her employees. 2 bridesmaid dresses were not altered correctly 1 of which we had to take back 3 times! And to top it off there was FOOD STAINS on her dress!!!! As an upset bride I called and owner refused a refund for my bridesmaid. I brought the dress in to discuss the situation Witt he owner in person and still no refund which escalates into a screaming match and the owner cussing at me calling me a whore! This is the most unprofessional. Disgusting place of business I have ever dealt with. They are there to take nothing but your money not help make your special day perfect.
