I got my prom dress here today (2/17/19) and it was wonderful!! We were greeted when we came in and the layout and organization of the store was explained to us. Customer service was great, and everyone was super friendly. Really awesome that we can get alterations done there once my shoes come in. The dress is everything I had hoped for in my dream dress, and the workers made us feel accommodated but not like a burden to them. I said yes to a gorgeous gown a few weekends ago with Linda to help guide me along the way. She was spectacular at reading how I was feeling even though I wasn't all that sure! I felt so gorgeous in the gowns, it had the potential to be very confusing but she kept me on track and pulled dresses with elements I liked from the dresses I had on before. Highly recommend as it is a quaint & lovely shop with a homey feel. I really appreciated the gentle guidance, zero pressure feelings. I didn't plan on buying, the appointment was really just for fun but I feel for my dress and GOODNESS the price was GREAT. Ordered my veil December 28th,2019, was supposed to arrive March 31st, 2020. No veil. Contacted them, was told due to covid, it would be July 31st. No veil. Haven't been able to get in contact since APRIL. Comes out their closing the shop. Haven't gotten a response on messanger, nor phone calls. I got in touch with brides and grooms and they were able to let me know that the shop owner never even placed my order!!!!!! Now we're fighting with the bank to get the money back. I'm not the only one she's done this too. My bank has advised me to file this as file this with police as fraud and theft. read more

After trying on 14 dresses the day before in Columbia,MD and a rushed consult I was not all that excited about my trip the very next day in DE. Once I arrived the staff was extremely welcoming! Michelle was amazing she listened to me style and even asked questions about my fiancé. The first of the ten dresses I tried on was THEE dress!!! My wedding party cried and it was an over all amazing feeling! Paying for the dress was also made easy. I came to Louis Marie with my sisters, girl cousins, aunts, and grandma since my mother is no longer with us. The ladies at the shop went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and really listened to what I was looking for in a dress. They respected our price outline and helped me find the perfect gown for my wedding day. Not only did they make me feel special, but they went out of their way to make sure my sizes were perfect. Months later when my dress was ready, my dad and I flew back from Ohio to try it on and have my first fitting. The ladies were so kind to us and made me feel like the most important person in the shop. It was a happy emotional experience and I really enjoyed it. Overall horrible experience here. My bridesmaid gown for my sisters wedding was ordered in the completely wrong size, a literal ten sizes too small. When I brought the dress back and explained the issue, they said they would re-order the correct size, and rush ship it. As soon as I left the store, I received a voice mail that it wouldn't be in until 2 weeks before the wedding. I did not receive any further calls. I called them two weeks prior, they said it wasn't in yet, but should be before the end of the week. I called again three days later, where they said it still was not in. Hung up, received a phone call that UPS had "just brought the dress through the door". Terrible experience, considering the mix up was 100% there fault. Do not reccomened. read more

I bought my dream wedding dress here! My favorite things about this place was the staff and customer service. The service is beyond excellent, think better than Nordstrom service! The ladies there work together as a team and are amazing. When I arrived, I really didn't know what to expect. Linda explained where to start and helped as we pulled dresses. I went with only my mom which was perfect. We saw a dress in the window and they pulled that without any issue for me to try on. I was there for about 2 hours trying dresses on and I never felt rushed which is huge for me. When making my final decision, I was deciding between 2 dresses and Linda asked me if I wanted to try them each one again. I did and then did again! Linda was was so patient and read how I was feeling throughout. I had the luxury of having all my appointments during the week and I was the only person in the shop each time. I went to the shop a total of 4 times: to pick the dress, try it on when it came in for a fitting, try it on after it was fitted, and finally to pick it up after it was steamed. They have a great seamstress names G who works with the shop but is independent. She got the sizing perfect right in one try! There were plenty of dress options to select from but had a boutique feel to it. I would highly recommend this shop. read more

A year or so ago I left a great review for Louis Marie Bridal. Linda, the girl who helped me find my dress, is wonderful and I highly recommend her to anyone. However, the morning I was scheduled to come in to go dress shopping, the staff had no idea I had an appointment. We had to wait a while to be helped, which is fine, but I felt rushed. It took months longer for my dress to come than what was promised to me. Their communication is less than great, as I had to call every few weeks for updates only to be told every time that my dress "should be in that week". Months later when it finally did come in, I never received a phone call and only knew it was in because I called again myself. I also ordered extra lace with my dress for alteration purposes, and my seamstress literally laughed at the small amount of lace they actually gave me. It was under a foot and not enough to do anything with. Even after all of this, I returned to go bridesmaid dress shopping and that was just a train wreck. After calling the day before our appointment to confirm that they were aware that we were coming, they still claimed that we did not have an appointment when we arrived to the shop and yet again we had to wait until there was someone available to help us. 45 minutes later, one of their staff came over to point to where the bridesmaid dresses were hanging and directed us to pick dresses from the rack to try on. Mind you, we had been standing next to these same racks since we arrived and there were so many dresses stuffed onto the rack that we could barely even look through them. I was helping my girls get into their dresses and clipping dresses into place while the staff went back to helping brides on the other side of the store. We had such an awful experience that two of my bridesmaids chose not to purchase their dress from Louis Marie. We told the shop that we would only be ordered 2 bridesmaid dresses and that the other two girls would be getting their dresses elsewhere. 3 Months later, we received a phone call from Louis Marie asking us if they should go ahead and order the dresses for the two girls who did use Louis Marie, dresses that were already paid in full for and should have been ordered back in June when we originally visited the shop. I had absolutely no idea that they hadn't ordered the dresses yet and now we were only 4 months away from my wedding. I purposefully came shopping early to leave myself plenty of time for shipping, alterations, etc. Yet again, the bridesmaid dresses were delayed and arrived months after I was promised they would be there, a little over a month before my wedding. Again I had to call every week to follow up and see where my dresses were and yet again I was given little to no information and empty promises every time I called. To top it all off, neither of my bridesmaid dresses fit and the seamstress who is fixing my maid of honor's dress told us that clearly the girls at Louis Marie do not know how to measure. We're a little over 2 weeks from my wedding and my brdiesmaids' dresses that came from Louis Marie are still not done being altered. I was extremely disappointed with the overall experience, especially now that the initial glow and excitement of finding my dress has worn off. I would not recommend Louis Marie Bridal to anyone, especially brides who have limited time before their wedding OR brides who like to have things done early. read more

Although this is not the largest bridal store in Delaware, the staff there were friendly, helpful and attentive. They made me feel so special and were easy to work with. They always responded to me in a timely manner and kept me updated with the order process. Couldn't be happier with their service and my dress! read more
