Two side of our house needed siding replaced due to construction flaws and water intrusion. We chose SFW Construction based on their Angies List recommendations. The workers were very skilled, they knew exactly what they needed to do, explained everything to us every step of the way. This is painful work for a homeowner: it is slow, noisy, invasive, and very very expensive. It took over three weeks to do two sides of our tall skinny house, and we spent about 10% of the purchase price of the house on the repairs. Painful, as I said. Very happy with the work and the people who did the work. 5 stars for that. I took one star off because they recommended SFW Painting to paint our house, and if you read my review of that company, doubt may creep into your mind as to whether you should do business with SFW. I can say that SFW Construction did a good job, and they were very good people to work with.

The work required took 2 days longer than I expected, though they had made no commitments.. Each day, the contractors communicated with me very thoroughly, but couldn't give me an estimate as to how much time (and therefore expense) would still be needed. Billing was sent as a day by day very detailed invoice, with payment expected immediately. A lien notice was sent less than a month after the work was done, with no follow up from the administrative office. The work was well done, the customer service awful.

We felt the most trust in him and his experience out of the bunch. Beyond that, the quality of work and communication was top notch. After replacing the siding, some trim, and a few areas of rot, he brought in a paint crew the next day and knocked out the full paint job in just a couple of days. We have some pretty mature plants around the home and he took great care not to damage them. I will most definitely hire he and his guys again. They rocked it out. Pretty cool he is working on 2 neighbors houses this week as well.

We recently had a roof leak due to the cover of an attic vent slipping off on our roof. Had some…read moremoderate water damage to one wall in our master bedroom. Called JBC and they came out almost immediately. Mark (I think was his name) went up on the roof and took a look. He nailed the cover back in place and inspected the area around it. He said there was no other damage that he could see and that the roof looked pretty good. He also said that while JBC doesn't do sheet rock work, they could refer us to a business they contract with. We told him we'd get back to him as soon as we got our insurance settlement. JBC also gave us a quote for cleaning and sealing the roof, applying moss retardant, cleaning the gutters, etc., and we are just about ready to call and schedule a date. If we are happy with their work, we will call the in the spring to discuss having a new roof put on. Stay tuned for another review.

Company strung me along for a month with bids that weren't the scope of work I asked (in writing)…read morefor. Finally on the 3rd quote they gave me the price for what I asked for in the first place, only after I had to call to get each of those because they never responded. I accepted the 3rd bid and asked them to get it scheduled. They told me should be able to work me in during November (within about 8 weeks+ after I requested a quote). That was fine, so I turned down bids from 2 other companies. Today (a month after I first requested a bid) they email me and say sorry, due to the small scope of the project (45' of gutter) they don't have time for me and turned down the job. Now I'm at least 2 months out into the rainy season trying to get on the schedule for the other company. If you don't want the job, don't bid it. What a waste of my time. Don't count on them to follow through, they may come in cheaper than the other companies but clearly you get what you pay for.

And they did it all for hundreds of dollars less than any other bid I got! I'd highly recommend working with this crew. It's challenging to take pics of your gutters so I'm sorry the photos attached aren't better, but take my word for it: even if no one else would notice your gutters, you will, and you'll be happy you got new ones before rainy season starts.
