A taste of all my favorite bands live for just $50! The Bridge School Benefit is a two day music event in which some pretty amazing bands come together to play to raise money for children with disabilities who attend the school. All the money raised from ticket sales goes directly to the school and ultimately the children. This years line up included: Neil Young Dave Matthews Arcade Fire Foo Fighters Eddie Vedder Los Invisibles Carlos Santana Beck Mumford & Sons Tony Bennett Devendra Banhart Norah Jones with The Little Willies SacramentoMarko and Jimmy Fallon This event sells out every year so be sure to get your tickets the day they go on sale or be prepared to pay double through a broker. My name is @SacramentoMarko and I reccomend this event!

SO MUCH FUN! I wonder why we didn't go to the Bridge School Benefit the past few years! The line up was fantastic, it was awesome to hear such an amazing bunch of musicians on one night! The afternoon was a bit warm and sunny but fortunately we got there early enough to grab a good spot on the grass and were close enough to the sky bar. The food was the only let down so next year, I'm definitely packing a picnic basket! The fries tasted stale and the pizza had a weird taste. The music sort of made up for it but we left the concert famished! Also, keep in mind that it lasts almost 8-9 hours. Great event for a great cause! I'm going back next year for sure.

Before the show started, people in reserved seating were given colored papers to put over our phone flashlights as part of the opening moment, and everyone around me was participating. Despite this, a woman sitting in the row in front of me (not even directly in front) snapped at me to turn my light off, even though it was clearly part of the show and everyone had their lights on. It was unnecessary and made the experience uncomfortable for no reason. I wish staff or ushers were more proactive in setting expectations or stepping in when guests are rude over things that are clearly allowed. The venue itself is great and has some good food options, but moments like that can really take you out of the experience.

The lawn is so huge. You can barely see some of the screens forget about seeing this stage. Prepare for many lines and expensive food and drink. Finally it takes forever to get in and out of the place. To combat that they charge as much as a concert ticket to park in a place where you can get out quickly. That's probably the killer for me and makes me not want to go back...

"mr jimmy" is really the absolute best at this, essential if you have any interest in knowing why the original band is still considered the progenitor, the ne plus ultra as it were, of modern heavy metal/blues rock. i won't go on lest i descend into mindless fandom. let's leave it the same as my previous review, if you failed to see the original led zeppelin in msg or wherever, back when it mattered, and you're curious, book a tickets next time - preferably they'll do it here again.

The venue is beautiful for stage performances, and it's not massive so almost every seat has a good view. I was about five rows away from the stage, and it was incredible to see my favorite band and singer up close! Food and beverages are expensive, but that's typical. I think a can of Coke was more than $5. Don't bother trying to get an Uber back at night from this venue. Ubers are allowed up to the venue for pick ups I think half an hour or an hour after the show ends. I also think Uber won't bother picking up people here because it's a single, narrow, winding road up the mountain, which causes a ton of traffic. So drive up to the venue, carpool with friends, purchase the shuttle ride in advance, or brave through that hell hole situation.

Now, I'm not like, craaaaaaaAaAaAaazy about Dive Bards, but every once in awhile one will sing to me and can just strike a chord on my heart strings. Oh? Bar? Not Bard? Mah bad! Yes! I LOVE bars! But usually, yes, I prefer a more lively, younger crowd, but yeah, when you roll with the homies, basically everything becomes more funner to some degree. But this little ditty also has Karaoke, the fun kind! Not that go-hide-in-a-small-room-that-stinks with your 30 friends, but the kind where you're on a full stage in front of EVERYONE. The KJ that's usually there on Mondays (Laura) is so sweet and runs her show incredibly well. I have no issue with her or with most of the people I have met here (I LOVE THE BARTENDER AMANDA WHEN SHE IS THERE!!) and I usually have such a good time! Frankly, I had a nice time tonight with the actual karaoke, sans what is written below. My one star review is specifically related to the experience that I had tonight with the bartender. I did not get her name. My partner ordered drinks for him and myself. My partner tipped the bartender 30% for the two drinks. (It was $14 for a mixed cocktail and a soda-- a little pricey, but I guess it's reasonable for a bar that has some kind of live music every night despite the fact that we've gotten the same order and been charged a different price on previous visits with other bartenders.) Later, I went back to the bar to ask for two waters. The bartender told me that it would be $4 each, because they only sell bottled water. (They have a full bar, with a gun that has water. Multiple bartenders here have previously given me water from the gun without charge, as is the STANDARD at every bar I have ever been to.) I told her water from the gun would be fine. She tried to argue with me. I once again requested water from the gun, saying I didn't mind and that it would be fine. She told me she would give it to me and charge me $2 per glass, at which point I gave up and went back to my table without the water. Charging your patrons for WATER at a bar is ridiculous. If you have people drinking copious amounts of alcohol and you refuse to give them water when they request it, it's also a liability. Charging your patrons for water ANYWHERE is, frankly, ridiculous. I'll just go drink it from the tap in the bathroom for free, I guess. Not a great experience, but if that's what it takes then I guess I can do it. Really incredibly disappointed. I come to this bar regularly and have never seen this bartender before, and hope that I don't see her again. A huge shoutout again to Laura the KJ, because she's epic. If this review was just about her, it would be 5 stars. Same for Amanda, the bartender we've chatted with before. She would get 5 stars from me as well.
