I've been there a few times now and what I observe is people eating not people enjoying a unique tasty meal with water views. I saw people eat and leave quickly without really enjoying their meal. Based on our meals, what I saw coming out of the kitchen and how fast it came out, Freighters must be serving a lot of frozen product, basically pub food. The cheese curds were the saddest, greasiest one I ever had (they were squares not curds) and hit the trash when we got home. Service was good. Not sure what the answer is. Perhaps it is just the taste of the people in the area...they like what they like. The Entrees on the menu were somewhat diverse and it looks like they are trying to upscale a little. We vacation to the thumb area often and finding good dining even good pub dining is very challenging.

So I have to say that the Bloody Mary's are pretty darn good. Our Aunt actually said those are so good and told the waitress "another round" even though we really didn't need it.
