Two moves, and I'm going to be very generous with 2 stars. The first move took much, much longer than it should have with three guys, and they unfortunately didn't realize I grew up speaking Spanish (I'm mixed but white presenting) and said some highly unfavorable things for professionals. While the guy who did my paperwork seemed nice, it was way over the top like he was trying to ingratiate himself with me for a better tip. The questions he was asking me were personal and invasive and just left me feeling uncomfortable and wanting to get away from him. Unfortunately this is the reality of being a woman, often, is men mistake your kindness for familiarity when he should have just stuck to being a professional doing his job. This second, and LAST move I will ever hire Bridgetown for, I booked a move with three guys and the same size truck as my previous move. I specifically wanted a company who knew how much stuff I had (we ran out of room, the first time, and I had to leave several items behind). The issues started at booking, when my estimate arrived with my deposit, and the quote read $0...I checked in with Devon and she said my move was still booked, the quote was just a system error (but didn't fix the issue of an hourly rate for 3 guys...but ok...), the confirmation text I received a a few days before my move caused me minor panic because she listed the wrong date...OOPS her bad, but it's fine, all is well, ok... But, the day comes, and TWO men show up with a much smaller than expected truck. I ask about the 3rd guy? Oh well yea his work order says it's supposed to be 3, the paperwork he hands me says 3...I call Devon and yep oops "Dispatch" (aka one of the owners apparently?) "made a mistake and sent the wrong crew due to a paperwork mixup." Folks, when I tell you this would have been an absolutely nightmarish scenario that would have cost me my last shred of sanity due to all the BS I've been dealing with, it can't be underestimated how p'd off I was. Luckily for me, I have terrible anxiety and bc my last move took so many hours, I haven't been able to sit still and had taken *sixteen* carloads of moving bags over myself before the movers ever arrived. I wanted this move to go so much smoother than the last, and I had two afternoon appointments for various maintenace and install issues with my new house that day of the move. I booked three men and huge truck specifically to make the move fast and easy. If I had not absolutely destroyed my body (thank you, anxiety, for apparently seeing the future and that something would in fact massively go wrong) taking allllll that stuff myself over two weeks after I got my keys on the 1st, there is ZERO shot everything would have fit on the truck, not even half my stuff would have fit. And as a reminder, I specifically booked Bridgetown because they had an inventory from my previous move. I was in the end charged the minimum rate, to "apologize" for the "mixup," but having to explain to Devon and to the two man crew why this was all so frustrating and upsetting is insane to me. I booked 3 guys, giant truck, with BM specifically who had my inventory because I knew how much stuff I had to move. They caused me at least 10 more gray hairs that day. I had a great experience with Bridgetown Moving, from the start to the end of my move. To start, it was very easy to get an estimate and schedule my move. The final amount was completely in line with the original estimate. There were no surprise charges at the end. The movers themselves were very conscientious and professional. They worked quickly and efficiently but also carefully. I felt bad that they had to carry a queen mattress and small sofa up three floors of a narrow apartment stairwell but that didn't phase them. After 27 years in one home, we sold and moved to a townhouse. We'd always moved ourselves before (and our kids as they left the nest), but we decided we were just too old to do that anymore. Communication was excellent, Sully was great with me on the phone and in email as we established dates and times, and Elmer, Alex and Francisco were professional, on-task, polite, and willing to haul some heavy boxes and furniture out of a one level house and into a three-level townhouse. Even when I realized I hadn't directed a particular piece of furniture to the right floor - no problem! They moved it! And nothing can be perfect - a table leg came loose, but Elmer grabbed his tools and tightened it up again. They even took my platform bed apart at the old house, and put it back together again at the new house! I did not expect that! They were the best movers I have ever had. They said they would be at my house at 8:30 and called again in the morning to say they were on their way. They arrived at 8:25 and were ready to work. We walked through the house and they explained the process. I had packed up everything and taken furniture apart prior to their arrival. They put everything into their truck quickly and safely. I liked that they wrapped some large furniture in shrink wrap and did the same for loose parts like slats for a bed so they don't get lost or damaged. Once loaded I met them at the new house and my wife explained where each room is (we labeled the boxes with room names to make it easier). They unloaded very efficiently. Around 1130 they stopped the clock and ate lunch. They bring food and eat in the truck but they were so great I made sure to buy them Chipotle instead. While unloading it started to rain and they put down runners. My house was just as clean when they finished as when they started. They removed all their own trash. Once the process is over they have you look in the truck to make sure everything is out. Then they walk through the home to see if everything is where you need it. My wife found some heavy items she wanted moved and they quickly and politely did so. Overall I can't recommend them enough. Well worth the money. Oh, the way they charge is about $201 per hour and billed in 15 minute increments. Clock starts when they arrive and stops when everything is unloaded and where you want it. And trust me when I say they moved fast! read more

Bridgetown moving was amazing! We just completed our move on 3/22 with the help of Bridgetown and it went smoother than we could have anticipated. We have used other moving companies in the past and had terrible experiences, so we went into the move a little nervous. I have used Bridgetown Moving & Storage over five times and have always been incredibly impressed with how well they've taken care of my home and furniture - almost as if it were their own. Well I'm sad to report that my long run ended with my move yesterday...they sent three gentlemen, one of whom hardly worked at all. There was one efficient guy, one mediocre, and one completely stagnant. They quoted me three hours and they finished in seven...much longer than it took the same company to move less stuff the last time (into this home). The movers left deep, sizable gashes on multiple door frames and on multiple walls. On top of it all, my house had been professionally deep cleaned for the listing process just days before and the movers peed all over the toilet seats and one toilet had poop splattered all over the seat. I understand people must be able to use the restroom while working, but I'd appreciate the toilet brush/toilet paper located in said bathrooms be utilized to clean the pee and poop splatter. I am a realtor and have always referred them to my clients, but I will no longer be doing so. They loaded a truck for us to move cross country and I'm terrified to see the condition of my things when we arrive at our destination. Utterly disappointed. read more

I hired Bridgetown Moving because I saw them doing another move and they were all wearing masks. For reference, this was back when masks were still mandated in Portland. Scheduling the move was easy, and the company was very communicative. My team of two movers arrived on time and my belongings were successfully moved to my new home. So, you may be thinking, why only 3 stars? The crew leader kept calling my husband "boss". In fact, I was the one who hired the movers, my name was on the order, and I had coordinated the entire move myself. I was not called boss. Instead, I felt he was a bit dismissive and short towards me during the move. When it was time to pay, the crew leader acted surprised when I paid for the move. My husband even told him that I, in fact, am the boss. The crew leader then told an inappropriate story about how his ex-wife thought she was the boss and "took everything". First of all let me preface this by saying that I am as frugal as anyone can get. My girlfriend even said "I know you're frugal but I want to higher movers..." And then she said she wanted to hire one of the more expensive ones. And I was a little irritated. However, after reading all the reviews and doing research, we agreed on this company based on the value. Yes you can pay someone less, but if they're not efficient with their time then you may actually end up paying more at the end. We hired 3 people and moved from a house with a basement and two floors to another house with 2 floors and an attic. The doodes were so polite and hard working. I wish we had enough cash on hand to tip them more than $20 each. They were worth at least double that. I recommend this place highly and they will be my go to going forward.
