These guys are the rock stars of the moving company world. Two super friendly guys showed up right on time. The job was to move my furniture off my old carpet that I'd had for over 20 years and remove it to the dumpster downstairs. I had a new, Ruggable rug going down in its place. But first I had a bit of clean up to do. As I was sweeping 20 years worth of dirt, cat litter and car hair up from the perimeters that I hadn't seen in decades, it really wasn't as bad as I had imagined. The guys asked me if they wanted them to open and assemble another piece of furniture I had sitting out in the hallway while they were waiting for me to clean up the floor. I told them I would be very grateful if they would do that. It took them mere minutes. And I am very thankful that they did that. I finished my cleaning and they got to work on laying the rug. A Ruggable isn't a normal rug. It's got two pads that line up side by side and then the rug is laid down on top pressing out wrinkles as you go. It's kind of tedious. But I got the softest padding and they did a great job laying the rug. It's beautiful. I love it. And I love these guys. They took such care with my furniture and moved everything right back to where it belonged. Their rates are the best. So much so I booked them to move my old futon out of here and move up my new loveseat. Unfortunately, an unforeseen emergency came up which is completely understandable. These guys? They're good. No, they're REALLY good. No, no - they're friggin' awesome! They're so good they make YOU better. After they helped me move, I woke up better looking. I called around to 5 of 6 moving companies for quotes. These guys are almost the cheapest AND they don't start the clock until they're at your place unlike some. They also don't charge for plastic wrap and incidentals. They asked good questions that the other companies didn't bother asking (like: do you have piano, safe, pool table...?) We had three movers; all were nice and worked their asses off. We have a lot of books and bookcases--I hope they didn't hate us after. read more

I needed an upright piano, a grandfather clock, and a dining room table set moved and I reached out to several moving companies. Columbia responded quickly, answered all my questions thoroughly, and they also had the best rates easily by $200 dollars. Very good communication when making appointments. But when big time came, no show, no call, no text, no email until scheduled appointment timeframe passed. Even dialed company phone number, directly cut off because voice mailbox didn't activated. This is worst scenario you can have when moving. Owner had time to reply message but didn't give any response by any means. Don't waste your time to have business with this company. Let me just start with this. I've moved no kidding about 20 times in 18 years. I have used several moving companies over the years. Some were good some were terrible. This moving company was the best I've had in 18 years! Yes I'm dead serious. The only thing I can say that was a bit "weird" Was that I wasn't sent a official document confirming my appointment so I was a tad nervous. Don't worry they're legit. These guys are amazing. I needed a bunch of heavy furniture moved from my one bedroom, second-floor apartment to my new place, which has a tricky entrance (long walkway, a lot of stairs). I requested a quote and Erin got back to me within minutes. She was able to schedule me super short notice and the price seemed really reasonable. The truck showed up on time and the movers were so polite and efficient. They treated my furniture like it was wayyy nicer than it is and managed to get it up and down and ton of awkward stairs with no complaints. The job ended up taking only slightly longer than the estimated time, but that was because the actual move was more complicated than I'd expressed during my brief emails with Erin. They did a great job wearing masks and distancing the entire time. The movers were fast and friendly. They listened to instructions well and didn't talk much which helped with the anxiety of moving large furniture across town. Another awesome experience with this company! The guys were on time, super polite, and very careful with my belongings. They took time to take apart and put together furniture carefully, I could tell they cared about the quality of their work. I made an advance appointment with this company but 2 days before I called to confirm the move date and time and the company was unreachable by phone. I reached out through Facebook and email and finally got a confirmation of the appointment at 10 pm that night. That should have been my cue to switch companies. They did show up on time on moving day and the movers were friendly and nice. We moved all of our furniture and many boxes but couldn't actually unpack and move into our home for 3 weeks. That's when we found the damage that occurred during the move: - rip in the back of the sofa - black marks and wear on a love seat and couch where they appear to have rubbed on the inside of the truck which left black marks and worn spots in the fabric - scratches on the top of a dresser where boxes had been placed without any blanket to protect the top. - damaged bookcase which they admitted to Very disappointing! They obviously do not have the experience to move furniture safely. When I called the company to report the damage, they offered to try to repair the furniture ( nothing could be done about the worn spots and we gave away the sofa with the rip). I honestly did not trust them to touch the furniture at this point. Would not recommend using this company. read more

This is the second time I've hired Columbia River Moving, and the work they did this time was just as good as it was the first time. I didn't know it would be the hottest day of the year when I scheduled with them, but Joseph and Manny handled it perfectly. She communicated well through the whole process. On moving day, the guys called before they arrived, they arrived earlier than the scheduled time (which was fine, because they called first). I couldn't believe how hard they worked. They loaded up our entire 1-bedroom apartment, moved everything down a long flight of stairs, down the awkward sidewalks of an apartment complex, drove a mile to the new house, and loaded our things into a house with some narrow doorways, and did the whole thing in exactly 2 hours! From start to finish, 2 hours! WOW!!! The price was more than reasonable, the guys were friendly and polite and communicated well, and I was completely comfortable having them in my house and moving my stuff. While the movers showed up a bit late, they did call promptly ahead of time to let me know they were on their way. Like all moves, mine was hectic without a lot going on at once that pulled my attention in a million directions, but I felt that the movers were efficient & not dragging out time, so I didn't need to watch over them or micro-manage.
