It was still a stressful and expensive moving experience, but I changed my rating from 1 to 3 because of the customer experience from the office team prior to, and after the move. I chose this company because of their great online reviews. In hindsight, I should have specifically asked for the movers, who are repeatedly named in these great reviews. The mover assigned to me was not mentioned in any of these great reviews. He packed the truck incorrectly, therefore not being able to fit everything and taking an exceedingly long time to get it done - which I paid for, seeing as they are hourly. 2 bedroom townhome with some outdoor furniture and it took 11 hrs. read more

Just got labor movers for a move from one apartment to another. No truck needed. They were late but was rectified with a discount. They weren't careful with my items, turned my dresser upside down without wrapping it, punctured a hole in my mattress, and had to ask them to wrap things. Took them 2 hours to move a bed, 2 dressers, a couch, a table, and a bookshelf 2 apartments down. Me and my partner moved all the boxes. Pros are it was reasonably priced compared to other companies I saw. They asked me many times to leave a review in front of them, which made us slightly uncomfortable as I typically don't leave negative reviews and don't love confrontation when it comes to telling people they did a sub-par job. they moved my move out date at least 4-7 times. Weren't careful with my stuff at all and pushed me to review infront of them. I speak Russian and they were all talking weirdly about us, is that some way to treat a customer? they also shoved all of the stuff we was working on alll night out of the bags and into the closet. Updated Review- 4 stars Royal Moving's customer service team called me after my initial review to help make things right. I appreciate this company's demonstration of integrity by refunding me fairly to compensate for the experience and providing hope that future moves will be much better. Initial Review- 1 star I thought this would be the best experience with movers yet but I felt deceived. This company has superb ratings, the move was easy to book with 24/7 phone lines, and slightly cheaper prices. However, when it came to moving day, I was very disappointed. There were language barriers with the two movers who spoke Russian and they did not wrap my items as carefully, organize the move as strategically, nor move as quickly as when I used All Service Moving in the past. Thus, it took longer, was more expensive, and frustrating- on top of moving already being stressful. I contacted customer service and they agreed to refund me $75 for the poor experience but only sent me $70. By then, I was so exhausted that I gave up. They were friendly, prompt, and persona professional. Packed and moved my stuff to storage efficiently. They did miss a bunch of stuff though--drawers that were forgotten, a couple pictures left hanging. They left packing trash behind as well, it would have been nice if they had picked up after themselves. Was supposed to be here 2-5. I never heard from them. I texted at 2 asking if I would get a text before they come and heard nothing. Then 5 rolls around so I call, they say they will be here at 5:30. I take some trash out at 6 to see they are stuck in the driveway and have snow chains on and neighbors watching and complaining as they are tearing up the asphalt where our water pipe is under and water is rising up. Neighbors and said they been there for 30 minutes just tearing up the cement stuck in place. The gentleman who was helping the move told me they would move the truck closer as it is very far away and will take a lot of time. They ended up not moving the truck until they were almost done (had my mattress, dresser, 2 tables and 3 chairs left) and then took time during the move to move the truck again. I am feeling very overwhelmed and frustrated as this took way longer than expected- they were very late, didn't start moving things until 6:20 and then are walking a very far distance to the truck so it is taking a lot longer. I am upset with the communication errors of not hearing they would be an hour and a half late past the 5pm window time I was given. I am frustrated that my neighbors are all complaining to me and my property manager about the asphalt damage. I also have a neighbor who has the closest spot to the stairs as her mother is disabled and she texted me saying the movers had stuff in her parking spot and they refused to move- though this could be a language barrier because we talked via Google translate. I chose this company because of the great reviews- but I am feeling like this was a very poor choice as I am not able to even sleep in my new apartment tonight because it is too late to build my bed and I will have to go to find elsewhere to sleep... I would call but your office is already closed. I had spoken to I believe ryan I believe via text saying how I did not want to go over $500, and said that would be possible. When I had scheduled and spoken on the phone I asked for time estimate of the move for a small 1 bedroom apartment that is moving 6 minutes away and was told 2-3 hours. I had everything boxed up and ready- I have a video of it all. I left my apartment at 8:22 to go to my new one (literally 6 minutes away) and they were leaving as well they said "see you there"! But as of 8:45 my neighbor is texting saying they are still at my apartment trying to leave. I'm so confused as to why these trucks have such low bottoms and are not able to go up a hill that isn't even very big! Then at time to pay he says it's $10 more per hour if I pay card. No where was that listed on the website or emails.. this whole place just seems fishy and I'm very disappointed- and then I saw though on the website that if I pay cash there is a discount. Well no discount was given!!!! . My 2pm-5pm moving time was 6:20pm-10:30pm. I would have rather used uhauls and got this done by myself with a friend than how this went. It is so late and this was just a nightmare. All in all I'm so glad this is over with because this was absolutely so stressful. They did get my stuff from one place to another eventually so adding a star for that... Updated: changed to 4 stars as the customer service reached out to help remedy the issues. This company was fantastic! Called day before, figured that was pretty last minute and short notice, but boom they were able to schedule Jose and Mikey. We wanted to start early at 7am and they agreed, got the call they were outside at 6:50am! We thought our 1 bedroom job was like3-6 hours, but with all the stuff they had to wrap, it soon became apparent our job would be a whole day if we didn't get a 3rd guy asap. Low and behold Michael showed up on the scene with African muscle! They brought big refrigerator boxes to load down miscellaneous that didn't fit in our small and medium boxes and we were like, "can't we just keep the stuff in the big box? " They said no problem and taped up the big boxes for $25 a piece and we literally bought like 5 of those for storage - SUPER HANDY! We were a bit of a mess and accidentally bought too small of a storage unit. They were so wonderful to be patient whole we got a second unit and everything literally fit in them both TO THE INCH. We used Royal movers for a labor only move in/out of our downstairs rooms in to recarpet. They moved our furniture from the home to a PODS unit and back. Both crews were on time, super courteous, careful with our stuff and extremely efficient. The office staff are easy to work with and contact, everything is nicely documented. They offer a variety of 5% discounts for payment in cash, seniors, military, etc. to their already low hourly cost. Not that I'm in any hurry to pack stuff up and move again any time soon, but if I had to I'd definitely use Royal Moving again and recommend that everyone obtains a bid from them prior to your move. read more

If you value your time, sanity, and basic professionalism, use Royal Moving Co. at your own risk. Their low rates are low for a reason. Timeline of our experience: Aug 25: We requested an estimate for an Aug 31 move. Same day, we booked and confirmed a 2-5pm timeslot. Aug 30: We reconfirmed with Royal. Everything looked set. Aug 31 (moving day): At 1:51pm (just 9 minutes before our 2-5pm slot), we got a text saying the crew was delayed and we had two "options": move at 6-7pm, or reschedule for several days later. Since rescheduling wasn't possible, we reluctantly accepted the 6-7pm slot. At this point, they did offer a 5% discount which didn't make much difference to us considering how small it was. At 6:17pm, I proactively texted to check in. At 6:38pm the crew leader called -- the earlier job was still dragging on, and now the "best" they could offer was to come at 8pm. After waiting 4 1⁄2 hours, already tired, hungry, and trying to prep for work the next day, we canceled. But it gets worse. Canceling wasn't straightforward. The crew leader told us to call the office ourselves (why wasn't that his job?). I called, sat through hold music, and finally got dumped into an AI system that hung up on me after I said "cancel appointment." My partner tried again: First spoke to Eric, who was immediately rude ("Well, I said I'm Eric" when she asked if he was a real person), then put her on hold without even taking down our info. Then Emily picked up and we were finally able to complete the cancellation. Emily was polite and apologetic and did offer other rescheduling options, but by this point we were just finished with this company. The impact on us: Because we expected movers at 2pm, we had already disassembled our bed, disconnected our washer/dryer, and torn down our home office setup. When they no-showed, we were left without a bed, laundry, or a functional desk setup. We lost sleep, had to jury-rig work equipment, and our whole routine was disrupted. The stress was enormous. Royal Moving claims to provide "reliable, professional, and stress-free moving at affordable rates." Our reality was the opposite: last-minute cancellations, repeated delays, unprofessional communication, dismissive customer service, and added stress at every turn. Bottom line: Royal Moving Co. may look cheap, but you get what you pay for. Their rates are low for a reason. If you don't mind last-minute cancellations, hours of waiting, rude operators, and total disregard for your time, go ahead and book them. Otherwise, spend a little more and hire professionals who respect their customers. read more
