Joseph Ketner Construction - Completed home exterior remodel in Lake Oswego.

Literally could NOT be happier with our new home siding, porch design, exterior paint, and garage…read moreroof thanks to Joseph Ketner Construction! If you're a homeowner of a 1929 fixer upper with a plethora of problems, you know it's ridiculously hard to find contractors that 1) show up on time, 2) do the work they say they're gonna do, 3) actually finish the job, 4) do the job well... like, REALLY well, and 5) be nice and a total delight to work with. JKC does ALL that AND MORE. Every step of our project was handled with extreme care, thoroughness, and craftsmanship. Every eve, every overhang, every gutter, every bit of paint and caulk was handled with precision and a level of detail that I thought could never be a reality when working with a contractor. Even when ripping off our old siding, they discovered the company that installed our windows and doors did a shoddy job, and they fixed THEIR work! When unforeseen issues came up (because of course, our house is from 1929!) they were able to quickly address and repair those items with grace and ease. We felt like we were in such great hands with experts that we could trust, that they knew what they were doing, and total masters of their craft. Bonus? They didn't leave messes, and cleaned up after themselves to the point you didn't even know they were there. Every worker on site was SO nice, informative, professional, and people you'd want to grab a beer with. In fact, we have a mentally unstable neighbor who confronted the crew, and they handled him easily and respectfully without escalating his mental health challenges. In short, we've hired them twice now, and when our home's roof needs to be replaced, there's no one else I'll be calling, or will be gathering quotes from. There's no point. They're the best, hands down, and we get compliments ALL the time from neighbors and people walking by asking about who did our home's exterior. My only complaint is that they don't do home interior design/remodeling because now I'll have to locate and find another team that won't compare to the standard that JKC has set. We're now SO spoiled. Seriously, don't bother gathering anymore quotes or researching companies that never call you back or answer your emails. You're just wasting your time if you don't hire these pros. I wouldn't recommend anyone else but them!

(Loved having Armando and his crew here.) Joe worked with my schedule from the very first phone call. This company is professional, organized and the workmanship is outstanding. If you are considering exterior work, do yourself a favor and work with one of the best. Joe and his team took photos of every step, and co-ordinated very well throughout the whole project. In fact, I thought the job was finished and there were a couple of areas Joe was not quite happy with, he thought it could look better, so he had his team come out and make improvements. And he was right, the finished job is perfect, my dream home.

Jed was available to come by same-day and suggested a less expensive and vastly more appealing wrap option over the more expensive option to just board the whole thing up while we wait for custom glass to be cut and installed. This saved us at least $500 and was MUCH more preferable so we won't have to be working in a cavern for the next few weeks. Jed couldn't have been a nicer, more helpful and knowledgeable guy, and I'm super, SUPER thankful that he was sent out. Our window looks MUCH sturdier now than it did an hour ago, and it's going to be VERY nice to be able to sleep at night not wondering if the temperature changed slightly or the wind blew wrong and the whole thing shattered and left our shop exposed. I'll absolutely be keeping Town & Country Glass in mind if I need anything like this in the future, and after my experience today I'd say that it'd be wise for you to do the same! Thanks for reading. :) (I am a real human and a real customer this is actually how I feel. No AI or anything like that was used here... because that'd be gross.)

They're plexiglass with tubing on the rim for a tight fit in the window casing and fit over your existing windows. I was able to install them myself on three large windows without help - it took about 20 minutes. They're expensive but I found they were worth it because I can sleep now and they look great - can't even tell they're installed. They work exactly the same as glass window inserts I got on other windows in my house. You could do a DIY option by making your own plexiglass inserts, but I liked that these were easy to install, fit tightly, easier to remove than glass inserts, and had a safety chain on the inside. Shipping took a few weeks and they send a laser measuring tool so the inserts fit tightly even if the windows are odd sizes. I got the acoustic commercial version with white tubing.

In the end I decided to go with another local provider. However a couple months later I see my PayPal account has an invoice charge from them in $175 for their "measurement kit". I never went through with the order and never even gave them my Paypal account. They just used my email to charge me for something I never ordered. I marked the invoice as scam in Paypal.

With the heat we've had the past few summers and then the snow that seems to be a yearly event now, we thought it was time to get a really good widow upgrade. We also wanted out house painted after installation and Clear Choice set that up for us as well. (See my review for Triple A Painting). What we loved most about dealing with Clear Choice Windows & Doors was the personalized service we received. They have a large selection of window frame materials to choose from and our choice of fiberglass was an easy one. It was explained to us that fiberglass windows are stronger than both vinyl and wood, making them incredibly resilient to weather and climate -- perfect for PNW homeowners. From start to finish, our team of window installers provided friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and it took only two days to install the 10 new windows in our home. Before, during and after, the team cleaned up and kept the work site tidy at all times. There was minimal damage to our landscaping as well. We can feel a definite difference in the inside temperature of our house since the new windows were installed. Our AC doesn't seem to work as hard and it takes less time to cool off in the summer and to heat in the winter. The outside look is classy and fits well with the style of our house and the neighborhood. We highly recommend Clear Choice Windows & Doors if you're looking for new windows.
