Our room was very spacious, nicely furnished, and clean. My husband wanted to raise the blinds but couldn't find a control to operate. We called to the front desk to ask about operating the blinds. He told my husband where the remote is located on the wall. Alas no remote. He said he wound send maintenance person up to raise the blinds. Then I noticed there was no shower curtain! Hooks but no curtain. Another call to front desk and a response he would contact maintenance. We left to go to a friend's home and stopped by the front desk to remind him and he took notes. We never were able to have blinds opened and never received a shower curtain. Too bad! It was an impressive hotel. Everything else was great including very comfortable beds.

They told me they couldn't add a night over the phone and told me to do it online. I attempted to do it online and when we arrived, they said they didn't see my additional night. When I asked if I could add a night now that I was there in person, they said they were booked out and didn't have any availability. I went online and reserved the extra night again and showed them in the front. They were then able to add the night to my stay. I was not only upset that they couldn't add a night over the phone (especially because after the fact, when I was checking in, there was a staff member on the phone setting up a reservation for someone) like all hotels do, but to be told that they were fully booked when in fact they were not, made me feel unwelcome. The staff seemed to not know what they were doing, other than one man in the front, he seemed to be the only one who could answer our questions and get everything sorted out. He also gave us water bottles for free, which we appreciated. There was one night that we returned to our room and the door was propped open like someone had been in there. This was unsettling and we had to check the room to see if everything was still where we had left it, nothing had been placed in the room, and no one was in there that shouldn't have been. Note that if the parking lot up top is full, you'll need to park under the hotel in a parking garage that has signs posted about them not being responsible if your car or items are damaged. This was worrisome especially because the garage gave a sort of eerie vibe. The World Cup games were on and there were people at the bar watching the game. The food selection is slim. The restaurant itself is only open during certain times of the day. There was a man who was walking around our room window with a phone. This was extremely unsettling because I began to wonder if the windows are see through. You can see out of them, through the curtains when in the room, but I'm not sure if that applies to the outside view as well. I felt like my privacy wasn't protected. This was an interesting experience to say the least and I am saddened that our coastal trip had added unnecessary stress because of where we stayed.

Every detail felt thoughtful and elevated -- from the beautiful displays, signage, tablescapes, and darling water/juice stations to the gorgeous paper products and overall presentation. The food was fantastic, and the vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options were especially impressive. Guests were raving about everything. The service was just as exceptional -- the team was attentive, kind, constantly refreshing items, clearing tables, and so gracious throughout the event. They were also wonderful to work with on budget, incredibly accommodating, and even helped with a few extras so we did not need additional rentals. Wilder Space is polished, professional, and truly top-notch. We are so grateful we found them and will absolutely use them again. Highly recommend for events in Santa Cruz, the South Bay, and surrounding areas.

I booked very early on with her and had many questions and follow ups. She always responded promptly with love, compassion, and a clear passion for her work. In addition, when Alicia joined on our team, she integrated seamlessly when working alongside Molly. We were so impressed by Molly's cooking (and overall hospitality and gratitude) when we enjoyed her tasting. We lowered our expectations when we assumed that food made in bulk for a wedding wouldn't be as good. I am so so pleased to say the food was just as incredible when it served over 110 guests. It greatly exceeded our expectations. Molly cooks with love. You can feel it when you're enjoying your meal. We got so many compliments from our guests who came up to us raving about how delicious everything was. In addition, Wylder Space did more than just cook! They coordinated linen rentals, set up table settings, and advised about the BYOB drinks. I truly don't know how Molly finds the time to be so communicative while pouring her heart into amazing meals and effective party planning. Molly and Wylder Space, you are a huge reason our wedding was such a success. We understand why you're one of Nestldown's preferred vendors. We hold you to a very high regard. Thank you for everything!

From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and accommodating. We asked if we could sit upstairs near the band, and they immediately made it happen for us. That alone set the tone for the night -- no hesitation, just great service. Sitting upstairs by the live band made the whole experience even better. The energy was fun, lively, and perfect for a Valentine's celebration with friends. We were able to enjoy the music, laugh, and really soak in the atmosphere. The customer service was amazing all around -- attentive, friendly, and on point the entire night. And the food? Incredible. Everything we ordered hit. I can confidently say this might be my new go-to spot for special occasions or even just drinks with friends. Great vibes, great food, and great service. We'll definitely be back!

Madison (our server) was super attentive and on top of everything. I had a gorgeous Ahi Tuna Salad with a sesame ginger dressing. The tuna was very fresh, and came with spring mix, peppers, avocado, tomatoes and carrots and topped with wonton crisps. Delicious!!! My husband ordered the Bruno's burger and he ordered it with a side salad instead of the normal fries. The burger was huge, and our dog kept eyeing it - he was so jealous! Bottom line - Bruno's is terrific. I'd love to check out the speakeasy some night, but of course since the dogs are not 21, we'll have to leave them at home.

Parking can be limited, particularly during busy times, and still is expensive to park overnight. Rooms are spacious and relatively modern. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. The downstairs bar is lively and well staffed. Limited dining options. Pool hot tub is nice and well maintained. Gym is decent. Would stay here again.

Poor Service, Hidden Fees, and a $300 Smoking Fee Charged to Non-Smokers…read more My stay was extremely disappointing and reflects a breakdown in basic service standards and billing practices. During the stay, there were no towels available at the pool, daily room cleaning was not provided, parking transactions included additional service fees, and coffee from the lobby/breakfast area carried a $5 charge. These issues were inconvenient, but the primary concern arose after checkout. After departure, I was charged a $300 smoking fee based solely on an air quality and humidity detector reading. I do not smoke. During the timeframe in question, I was using a small water-based clothing steamer to remove wrinkles from clothing after travel. The charge was not disclosed at checkout, and no physical evidence of smoking was provided. Hotel staff acknowledged that these types of sensors can be triggered by factors unrelated to smoking. Despite this, no independent review or investigation was conducted, and no additional evidence beyond the detector reading was provided. I was directed to dispute the charge through my credit card issuer. I escalated the matter to Hilton corporate customer service, but the case was redirected back to the same property without independent review. The General Manager did not respond to multiple outreach attempts, including email and a request for a callback. After researching, I found similar complaints from other guests regarding smoking fee disputes at this property, raising concerns about how these charges are determined and reviewed, and the reliability of the technology being used. I support non-smoking policies; however, issuing significant charges based solely on a sensor reading without supporting evidence or meaningful review is not acceptable. This experience has significantly impacted my confidence in both this property and the consistency of issue resolution within the Hilton brand. I would still welcome a fair review of this charge and a good-faith effort to resolve the matter appropriately.
