London is known for Indian food and Brigadiers didn't disappoint. We have tried so many type of Indian cuisines and restaurants but nothing tasted or prepared like at Brigadiers. So flavorful and fresh. Everything ordered were on point and delicious. Must try the Pappad & Chutneys and the BBQ Butter Chicken Wings. Our server and restaurant manager were polite and very attentive to our large party. According to my wife, Brigadiers is the best Indian restaurant that she ever tried. We love Gymkhana so we were excited to try out Brigadiers. Upon arriving we grabbed drinks at one of their bars which was so packed there was barely standing room. Fortunately we were seated shortly after getting our drinks (which were delicious!). The restaurant is dark and has a man cave feel with sleek surfaces and TVs everywhere. Rooms are segmented and one of them has a whiskey vending machine and pool table. They also have some interesting decor such as monkeys with glasses reading books. Great meat dishes and good service. I prefer Gymkhana but Brigadiers was a fun spot. Brigadiers is a culinary masterpiece. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is from the days of British Raj Army club. We had goat belly vindaloo samosas, Dum Beef Shin & Bone marrow Biryani, lamb chops, Seekh Kabab and a bread basket. Every dish was outstanding. An insult to such an establishment that serves fine cuisine was the dessert. You cannot call it Kulfi and add rice and ice cream. Rasmalai had no Rasmalai, frothing ice cream sprinkled with chopped pistachios cannot be called Rasmalali! Brigadiers could have easily had Uber deliver their dessert from Tooting or even opened a tin can of Haldiram Rasmalai if their dessert chef was having a bad day. read more

South Indian cuisine so the menu is a bit more unusual then your typical Indian restaurant but the ingredients and quality is up there. I'm a fan of the chicken tikka on skewer (chicken is nice and juicy) and the saag with mushroom. The service is great, very upscale and nice, always busy. Great experience and Indian and you must try the masala Chai! Also They cook things for wheat free and avoid cross contamination. Altogether, well done. read more

We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. We had no reservation, as it was a Thursday evening, but the place was packed. They were able to seat us promptly at a table in the bar, however. Good drink selection, and a fun menu of fusion-y Indian food that did not disappoint. We had the Achari Chicken Skins (excellent), Goat Belly Samosas (good), Chicken Kebabs with lemongrass (fantastic), Onion and Coriander Kulcha & Black Daal (very good). The bartender was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and the pace/staggering of the food's arrival was on point. The bar area was pretty noisy, but it was definitely our best meal in the five nights we spent in London. Hope to come back soon! read more

We were there last night as a group of 6 celebrating our friends' birthday. We opted for the tasting menu which is £60 per person. There wasn't a single dish that wasn't delicious. Portion sizes were generous (they brought out multiples of each since there were 6 of us). There was plenty of food to go around and we were stuffed by the end of it all. For drinks, we had the house wine which was like any house wine and beer so can't speak for their cocktails. The booth we were seated felt quite private so all in all, we had a great meal. Very pleasantly surprised. I would not have picked it, just one review on yelp?. But my close friends in London said we must and they had their anniversary dinner there. The atmosphere is super lux but also super relaxed (they managed to meld the two) the drinks were all superb (chocolate martini was more like an enhanced Guinness, delicious). The food was spectacular with the beef tartar (starter) and lamb (main) being standouts amongst many great dishes. I'm already excited to return! Absolutely awesome food and decor. A lot of the Indian standards weren't featured, but they had some interesting takes with the same spices and sauces to make it stand out. It's a dark red and wood vibe with a pool table that all works very well. They served dinner later than almost any other place around there. Props for that. In a town with great Indian food, Brigadiers is a stand out. Everything on the menu is amazing. However, if you don't order some of the lamb chops, you are missing out. Family style is the way to go given the number of tasty items to choose from. Great selection is wine and cocktails as well. Wonderful dinner. I will remember it for a long time. My wife and I were in London on vacation and we're near St James cathedral late in the afternoon. She found Brigadiers on one of the search sites. The place is upscale without being snobbish, paying homage to the 19th century British raj. The waiters were decked out in quasi-military serving man outfits and the decor was clubby but with snippets of India (example a large portrait of an Indian gentleman in a Nehru jacket; I didn't recognize him. Maybe I should have?) I started with the most unique Bloody Mary I've ever had. Seasoned spectacularly with hints of cumin and other curry spices. Dinner was a mixed Tandoori grill artfully constructed, creatively seasoned, and perfectly done. If I am ever in London again, I am coming back here. read more

A modern take on a throwback to the the British Raj. Cuisine is upscale Indian regional with a British twist. Spectacular. Had a signature Bloody Mary which was excellent and out of the ordinary. Spices added to the cocktail gave it a cumin-y undercurrent that was great. Dinner was was a mixed tandoori grill that was far and away the most artful tandoori I've had anywhere. Think spice marinated lamb and prawns skillfully charred with the yogurt sauce on the side. Pricey, but I would come here a lot. read more

I'm slowly making my way through all the new restaurants in the recently opened Bloomberg Arcade, and after hearing rave reviews from a few friends, I finally made it to Brigadiers, the Indian street food themed restaurant from the same people behind Trishna, Gymkhana, and Hoppers. Among the London Indian-style food options, this restaurant sits in the midmarket segment, below all the Michelin stars but a cut above the Whitechapel experience. You could have business lunches or dinners here, though I find it a tad loud. I also noticed a few private dining rooms and a billiard table with a whisky tasting setup, so maybe one of those spaces would work better. The outside area has both standing tables as well as a few more relaxed seated ones, and most importantly, beer on tap, making it quite convenient. It gets the afternoon sun and had been taken over by a few groups having after-work drinks when I arrived early for our dinner reservation. Instead, we started seated at the bar inside, taking in the quite glam interior (though I found the large TV screens playing cricket to be a bit distracting). They have a large cocktail menu, many beers on tap, a whisky map, and also a considerable wine list. I was recommended the Clover Club cocktail, and my friend had the Vetiver Smash. We also ordered the masala chicken skins and pappadums while we were at the bar. There is no explanation of the dishes on the menu, so perhaps it's worth explaining that the masala chicken skins were really like a canapé with a chicken skin base, topped by some chicken breast mixture, and a yogurt type sauce to finish. One order comes with three, but our server was very attentive and asked us if we wanted a fourth (for an additional charge) so we wouldn't have to share. The pappadums were a mix of at least 5 different types, with one resembling Ruffles crisps and another being more of a bubble texture. There were three chutneys, of which the green one is the spiciest at a medium level. Once we moved to the table, we were joined by another friend and between the three of us, we ordered the chicken wings, the lamb skewer, half rack of lamb chops, kid goat shoulder, and a house salad. We were also given the house daal and some naan through a kitchen mixup. The chicken wings are the must-order dish, and they're very interesting as they come smothered in a buttery sauce, which is not normally how you think about chicken wings. The naan was very useful to finish up the sauce. Everything was intensely spiced, but not too spicy, save for the house salad, which was really just more for contrast. In hindsight, I couldn't tell you the difference between a lamb and a goat dish at that level of spice, so maybe it would have been more interesting to order beef or fish instead. My friends really liked the house daal as well. This was too much food for us and we ended up having leftovers. I'd love to come back to try some of the other sections of the menu we didn't touch, like the paos, kati rolls, sizzlers, and biryani. Otherwise the way to do it is to get one of the set menus for business lunch, feast, or Sunday roast (ordering Indian food is not one of my strengths). In terms of quality, it's at the same level as Dishoom in terms of food and décor / dining experience, but without the queues. Given the City location (one of the few places that Dishoom has not expanded to yet), it naturally attracts a very different crowd. In any case, there's a lot of demand for good Indian food in London, and this place is already off to a smashing start. read more

Just came back from this wonderful restaurant and had to write a review about Nasir and his amazing staff. My family and I were taken care of from the moment we ordered until the moment we left - our server helped us choose the right amount of food, which was all beyond amazing, and they let use use the Pool room when we were finished, which was so great. The food is immaculate; we don't have anything that compares back in the States, sadly. Everyone was really polite and nice, and the place was doing brisk business for a Monday - every room was full! Nice food and beautiful decor this place offers a nice escape from the busy part of London it lives in. However, the service was fairly slow and there are some problems with the menu. In a party of 8 we decided to go for the bottomless drinks. Unfortunately we reached the bottom when our waiter told us there was a 2 hour limit on the bottomless drinks. This normally wouldn't be a problem but as advertised it seemed that it was a £20 flat charge for unlimited drinks. However, our waiter told us it was just their policy. I had great expectations for the place, so perhaps this is my disappointment talking more, but I was that disappointed. Great atmosphere and interesting menu, but in the end, my experience was very poor. The food tasted all the same: many starters are fried and there was virtually not much taste difference between lamb and goat. On top of that, we were kicked out after 1 1/2 hours. We were not told that when we booked it, or we would have booked elsewhere. 1 1/2 hours is not enough time for any meaningful get-together, be it personal or business. Their service isn't even fast to facilitate this time restrictions, either. When you have to request to be given food menus and they take all the time in the world to serve you food only to slap you with a bill without even asking to finish off with coffee because it's time, I say it's beyond cheeky.
