UPDATE- A family member called Ray Briggs and he answered on the first ring after not answering, nor returning calls nor texts from me for over a week. I got on the phone to request a refund or repair the floors that he damaged and immediately he started talking over me, yelling and then he tried to bribe me by requesting funds to fix the floors that he destroyed. After, I refused, he hung up on me...proving further that Ray Briggs is a con artist. My floors were in pristine shape and I only wanted to add shine to the floors by cleaning and polishing them. Ray Briggs never cleaned the floors. His machine scratched up the hardwood. He spread polish over old wax causing more money to have to be spent to undo his damage. Ray Briggs did a good job refinishing a wood floor and cleaning a carpet. I hired him again to level the basement floor. He took a deposit of $800 and has not done the work despite many requests over many weeks. He says he is too busy. He says he is licensed. He isn't. DO NOT USE HIM. read more

Basically, they missed large areas on the rear of our house and the neighbor's house during powerwashing (both houses were done at the same time). We insisted they return and finish the job we paid for. So they ripped holes in our screens and forced water through the bottom of the window. I'm very disappointed with the poor customer service provided by Raymond Briggs. I hired Mr Briggs to restore the floors in my home. I was satisfied with the living room and dining room however; there were stains on on the baseboards in the three bedrooms upstairs and a spot on one of the floors. I immediately notified Mr Briggs of the issues and he assured me that he would return to correct it. It has been two months and he has not kept his word or returned my calls. The lack of supervision while allowing his younger grandsons to assist caused this issue. I do not recommend this company. read more

Long story short, if you value your time, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. After seeing positive reviews on Thumbtack (which I'm now certain are all fake), we called to schedule steam cleaning for our carpet and were told we would receive same day service. We spent an entire day waiting and calling to see when someone would be coming. They weren't able to give us window of time and every time we called to ask for an update, we were told they would check and call us back, but they never called us back. After calling at 8pm, they said they'd come the following day between 2-4pm. So, we waited again the following day. Called to check at 4:20, they said "realistically it'll be 6." Called at 6:20, no answer. Left messages, no replies. I'm more than understanding as long as you're honest and upfront about things... this company was neither. Wasted two days of my life. I was really surprised to see the negative reviews about this company. I originally had put out a request for RFPs on thumbtack to clean a sectional and sofa I had that were pretty badly damaged by our dogs. The price was right and they were able to come out later that evening. The crew that came out was AMAZING - very professional and friendly. I was impressed with how through a job they did. The owners son was part of the crew that was sent and he was great. Within the week I had called them back to come and clean all of the carpets in our new home, which they also did a great job with. This week we are having them come out to clean the carpets in our office. I would recommend working with this company. They are very responsive and have great customer service. read more

Stay far away. They destroyed my deck and refused to fix the damage. The deck needed a very light power wash and they completely stripped the deck down to the bare wood. When we discussed this with the owner, he originally offered to strip the entire deck and re-stain it. Our second call to them was different, the owner only offered to add a second coat to the whole deck, which would make the deck much darker. We allowed him to come out- but guess what, he never showed up. And our deck is destroyed. read more

I rarely submit negative reviews for businesses because I know how harmful they can be. But in this case it would be unfair of me not to. I hired this company a year ago to power wash my back patio. They did a very good job, and I gave them a nice review on thumbtack. However, when I tried to rehire them this week scheduling was a disaster. They told me they would be here Saturday or Monday, which came and went, and then they told me they would be here Tuesday. Then they did not show up. Then they called me at the end of the day on Tuesday and promised to be here between nine and 11 on Wednesday, and even said that they would pay me $100 if they did not show up on time this time. But wouldn't you know it, at 11 o'clock they called me up and said they would be 45 late! I told him I couldn't wait any longer than that and that I would cancel if they weren't here in 45 minutes. Well, 45 minutes came and went and another half an hour later they called me and said they were on the way. By that time, I had finally lost my patience and already hired another company. It was extremely rude of them to have me sitting here waiting day after day after day because of their promises, not show up, and NEVER update me on their status. It was always me calling them. They did the exact same thing to me that everyone is talking about. They quoted me a price on Thumbtack, demanded payment, and then did not return to complete the job. They quoted me "$150 Total Price" on Thumbtack to stain a deck. They came over, power washed it, and did not follow up. When I reached out to them to ask when they would finish it, they demanded more money and refused to complete the work. Think about it. You have a choice in businesses to complete a job for you. Don't go with the one that has repeated reviews of people saying that they did not finish the work, did damage, changed the rules, and were impossible to deal with. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. Absolutely horrible service. I hired this company for a move-out clean using the app Thumbtack and the profile showed he had 35 5+ star reviews. I felt very good about hiring them after I spoke with him over the phone and arranged a time. I was given a time frame of 2-4pm. He arrived 45 minutes late with no courtesy phone call. Once he arrived, we did a walk through of the apt and he made it clear to me that he was a professional and knew what to do. I signed the contract and paid him. He had four men with him to clean a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. When i returned to examine the work that was done, I was amazed at how dirty the apt was left. My carpets still had trash, dust and dirt all over. A dirty glove near the front door; The bathroom fixtures had cleaning residue and spots all over; dust in the corners of the walls and all along the light fixtures, baseboards etc. Basically NO dusting was done. My bathrooms looked dirty as if no one had cleaned them. He did clean the kitchen, stove, refrigerator, and ceiling fan very well. But other than that, nothing else was done. I took pictures of all the areas and promptly emailed him. He did respond and said he would address these concerns and call me. After 24 hours I received no phone call. When I finally called, he was rude, defensive, and argumentative about the quality of work. Absolutely unbelievable how this business has been getting 5 star reviews. He preceded to hang up on me as well. I am just amazed how someone could be so rude and even with picture documentation, still had the nerve to argue with me about the lack of their work. Case Created - PP- I hired this company in good faith that they would do an excellent job on my two wood decks ,stone patio, walkout basement area and pool surround. I am moving and trying to get my house ready to sell. They did clean up those areas very well but totally destroyed my stone pathways in the backyard, sprayed dirt and debris all over my chairs, plants that are just coming up and down into my driveway. Then the water was not running out of the basement walkout area because they sent rocks and soil into my sewer which caused my sewer line to backup into my laundry room and I had to pay a plumber to come unstop my sewer to get the pool of water and  dirt out of my house. Every time I called the owner Ray to ask him to send someone out to clean up the mess they made inside and outside my house he would say someone will be there to clean up. Well three times I called the last time I called he sent me to voice mail. I texted several times and he answered but the lie continued last time he said someone would be here between 11am- 2:00 pm. No one has shown up yet. I paid them &650.00 I wish I had waited until everything dried out before I paid him because now I have to pay additional money to redo my landscaping and the plumber all while I'm trying to pay the other contractors working on my house. I also told Ray I'm disabled by myself here and could not do the cleanup myself. He has disappeared and no correspondence exists. I don't care how many years they've been providing this service their customer service to correct the damages they cause is appalling. I would never use this company again. Also take your own before and after pictures to show what your property looked like prior to service and after service if you decide to use this service. They smile in your face and ignore you if they mess up and are made aware. Beware of this company. read more

Our neighbor and I both hired Briggs to power wash our siding. One of the highest prices we have paid yet. Siding was still wet when they left so I couldn't tell what spots they had missed. When the siding dried it was apparent they did a rush job, missing a lot of the siding on the back lower part of the house. Gave my husband a hard time about coming back out. Didn't show back when promised, so another call was place. They finally came back out. Won't be using them again. Going back to B&B Exterior Cleaning. read more

OWNER RAY BRIGGS is DISHONEST! I am a landlord trying to clean up my property after my tenants trashed the place. They had pets and the house smells terrible. I was very candid with Ray Briggs prior to hiring him. I consulted other carpet cleaning professionals and finally selected Briggs Floor Care based on the seemingly fair price and the owner's "can-do" attitude. I specifically requested a truck-mounted carpet cleaning service which he failed to use. The owner visually inspected my property days before performing the work and assured me that I would be satisfied. He assured me that he could remove the stains and pet odors from my carpet. I am so disappointed.... he charged me $30 more than originally quoted and, although the carpet looks a little better, it is still very stained and smelly. I would have preferred that he be honest and keep me as a customer. I would not use Briggs Floor Care for any future work. I had Briggs power wash my patio, deck, and front entryway. The crew was quick to arrive from the time I put out a request for quotes (came the next day), very professional, and did what seemed to be a good job initially. There were a few areas that didn't come clean on the first round, but they were happy to go back over things to make sure I was happy with the result. The patio and walkway areas still look okay, but once my deck dried from the power washing, I realized that, despite me cautioning them several times and asking them to use a soft tip before they started, they took significant amounts of stain off of a deck that had been stained and sealed only a year prior (the deck itself is only a year or so old). My deck looks terrible, and I emailed and called to see what could be done. The owner, Ray Briggs, told me that stain just comes off a deck, and the only thing they could do was touch up the spots where they carelessly removed the stain. Any reasonable person knows that's not a solution -- the stain will be different colors. He also suggested staining my entire deck again; but I don't want to put another coat of semi-transparent stain down as the areas with existing stain will just get darker and the spots where the crew ruined my deck will still be a different color. For any of these options, he wanted to charge me, albeit a "reduced rate" to fix the problem his crew caused. In any case, I arranged an appointment with the company for them to come back to my house to assess in person, but they didn't show up. My calls went to their voicemail. I'm not sure what this business is doing on Thumbtack, but given their BBB F rating and terrible Yelp reviews, I wish Thumbtack would have removed them before I found them, and myself in this situation now. My deck is ruined, and I'm now faced with stripping and re-staining it myself because of their incompetence in completing a simple cleaning job. Extremely disappointed. read more

Briggs power washed my 3 story townhome on 7/25/16. I was a little hesitant based on the reviews I saw on the internet, but my next door neighbor said they did work for him and he was pleased, so I thought I would take a chance. When they arrived, I was a little concerned because the gentlemen sent to do the work appeared to be very young. I watched them work and I was very impressed to see that they continued working until they were able to remove practically all of the build-up that appeared on the fascia as well as the front of my home. I am reviewing after the second time having Briggs do my carpeting. The first time I was very pleased in all ways. They arrived basically on time, courteous, efficient workers at a reasonable price. The second time was not significantly different other than the price quoted over the phone was less than they wanted to charge me at point of service. That was slightly resolved with doing another small area rug, but that didn't make up the increase in price. All that aside, I realized the workers left a huge, heavy container of some liquid solution. It has been a month and three calls to ask them to come pick this up. All I get is empty promises and the "drum" of possible hazardous waste still sits on my porch. I consider this to be an incomplete job and I am extremely dissatisfied the second time around. No customer service. Said he was coming to finish the job repeatedly. NO CALL, NO SHOW after I had paid him in full. Very sloppy work. Stained my deck. Some places too much paint with drips, other places no paint on deck. Got paint on windows, siding, chair cushions. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I gave him nearly 2 weeks to finish the job. I called daily. He wouldn't take my calls unless I called from a number he didn't recognize. TERRIBLE customer service because there was none. I had to call him, and then all I got were EXCUSES and EMPTY PROMISES. BEWARE!! A WASTE of hard earned MONEY. I will be contacting the Attorney General in Maryland and Virginia, the BBB, and 7 On Your Side.
