JGA is great! We called on Jonathan initially to evaluate wiring our garage for EV charging. He referred us to the rooftop solar installer who won our selection process. His courteous and well-spoken men installed the EV, relabeled our panel, and on several occasions have capably handled corrections to wiring issues created during the remodeling of our house five years ago. Today Jonathan himself came and corrected an EV charging problem (not his company's fault), waived half the usual fee, then gratis, on my wife's request, fixed an unrelated problem where fan and lights (dangerously, it turns out) had not been separately operable. He is a very fine young man! He grew up locally in the trade. His company serves the rich and famous, and yet he is as prompt and considerate and kind to commoners like ourselves. I give them 2 stars with a bit of sadness. I have used JGA for over 10 years for three properties here in the Valley, and Jonathan, the owner and most of his guys are just great at their work, and great electricians. Until one guy went rogue... and we had to dismiss them. After having had a long relationship with JGA and having several house electric system revamped, this one guy came and installed a Tesla charger in front of our garage, after which, I pulled in my car, and got a flat immediately, and I looked at their work area, and found 9 nails, screws and shrapnels of metal. Management kindly waived the couple of hundred dollars they were going to charge for the 2 hour work. More work was done by JGA at my properties, until last week I need a charger installed for a different electric car, and called JGA, and the same guy that installed the Tesla charger came. He looked a little and said he can install it for $2500, many many times what they charged a couple of years ago, citing material price increase, and management tried to defend him. I told them what they should do is to fire this guy and defend their business. There was another job that this guy had tried to con me, but I called their office and they sent someone else and did the job for a small fraction of the price this guy wanted to charge. Sad for JGA and sad for Jonathan. They really should fire this crook. And I got a lovely electrician from another company to install the charger at a fraction of the $2500. read more

Wow can't rave enough about Rene. I'm a big diy'er but leave anything electric or plumbing to the pros. However I thought upgrading light switches to be smart switches was a task I could handle. It wasn't! After finding 9 different wires coming from a plug, shocking myself, and tripping the power to half the house I knew I was way over my head. Called Rene and he showed up within 30mins. I experienced a unique problem over the weekend with the electrical system, in my house. I had actually never heard of this. The location where the power comes in from the pole, the DWP connector corroded to such a degree, it shorted out one side of the breaker box. I was put in touch with Johnathan at JGA by a contractor that I know, it took Johnathan all of 5 minutes to run down this issue, a few minutes later, power was restored, with a new connector. VERY happy that I got JGA electric to help me install an EV charger in my condo parking spot. The struggle was definitely real when looking for an electrician to do the job. Not only did they have to install the charger and run a line from the main electrical room to my spot, they also had to get approvals/permits from my condo's HOA and LADBS (Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety). I got quotes from 15+ electricians on Yelp, and some of the quotes were just... amusing to say the least. A few ghosted me after i sent them my HOA's paperwork, a few gave me quotes of $5000+ due to the "complicated nature" of the job. But the most memorable was the electrician who told me I had to connect the EV charger (on the parking floor below ground) to the electrical breaker box in my living room (on the 4th floor), and NOT the main electrical room on the parking floor... we do live in some interesting times. Needless to say, I was tired of talking to these clowns and decided to give JGA a call after stumbling on their yelp page. I spoke to Jonathan, who gave me a sensible quote and explained the whole process of installing the EV charger in a condo managed by an HOA. I was very impressed - he was transparent, knowledgeable and patient with my many questions, so i decided to go with this company. There were three phases to this project, and JGA smashed it out the park in each one: 1. HOA Approvals/Paperwork - My HOA required electrical plans and a bunch of paperwork to be completed before the project could start, JGA completed this very easily and were able to submit the paperwork in a couple of days. As i mentioned earlier, I actually had a couple of previous electricians stop responding to me after I sent them the HOA paperwork, so getting over this step was huge for me. Needless to say, my HOA approved. 2. EV Charger Installation - On the day of installation, the JGA team arrived on time and went to work quickly. Everything went smoothly and according to plan. I had a working EV charger at the end of installation! 3. Permits from LADBS - This was all arranged by JGA - they set up the appointment, met the inspector at my property, and emailed me proof of the approved inspection when it was all over. I didn't have to do anything! Huge thanks to the JGA team for helping me through this long and complicated process, i will be contacting them for any of my future electrical needs. read more

JGA saved my butt Labor Day weekend. Some crazy person ripped out my homes weather head and we had live wires all over the place (we weren't home). The weather head is the metal pole that holds the wiring that runs from your electrical box to the street poles. Anyway I called JGA when I got home. Got an estimate and arrival window time quickly. The quote was $400 lower than I received elsewhere. It took them a total of 4 hours from the time they arrived, went to 2 different Home Depot's and fixed the damage.
