I used to be terrified of the dentist!! I made an appointment because I had to and I have to say my fear is gone! The Doctor is cool but the girls there make it what it is. Doctor Parks is great at what he does and is VERY honest if he don't feel confident in doing a procedure he wont do it and explain why. They made you feel extremely welcomed, even from the first phone call when I made the appointment. I love the education the hygienist gave me while she cleaned my teeth, so now I can clean my teeth properly! Gabby was also so sweet to explain everything she was going to do before she did it. I had looked forward to seeing this dentist and went off of prior yelp reviews. His office staff is marvelous, that being said, he came to me with the face mask on that he had used on the prior patient, in the next cubby, and he failed to greet me. He said nothing and began rattling off what I needed. I didn't like the fact he is not changing face masks, never heard water run next door, could be mistaken, and not properly greeted. I couldn't even see his face. I had X-rays done and I am a cash paying patient. I have elected to not return for the work and will ask for my X-rays to go to another dentist. You can't please everyone all the time, but there are some basics that should be met. read more

Seems like an honest, old school type of dentist. I went here as a second opinion after getting some xrays done at another office, and the feedback I got from this office just confirmed what my gut felt about the other place. Had a wisdom pulled out on top of getting some fillings done and I was in and out of there within an hour or so. They are quick to seat you and explain everything in detail for those who like to learn a new trick or two. Short of say, cave diving (claustrophobic), the dentist would be my least fave experience in the world. I get so anxious. I do not like work done/utensils in my mouth. I floss and brush so much to avoid bad news and I get examined every 4-6 mos to keep the drill and needles away. Prevention! That said, I am picky and have been to 4 dental clinics in Bakersfield. This one is the best. I have had some nightmarish experiences at other local places. The best part here is that this practice understands. The front office manager, Keisha knows what the heck she is doing and treats you like an old friend every time. I adore her. Hours here are good. Kristin, the hygienist is very understanding and patient and tells me every step of the way, what she is doing. She is quick to give useful advice for best home care. The dentist is a good one. Maybe not a perfect 5 in bedside manner but I require gentleness that may be unprecedented!Ha! I would rather him be knowledgeable and not be overbilled unnecessarily and so far, no complaints. Thank you, Dr Park! The office is very clean. Water or coffee is offered in the little front lobby and you always get a cool toothbrush pack on your way out! Being new in town, I called This office because of a bad toothache.The front office immediately arranged for me to be seen the next day and checked my dental insurance. The front and back office were so helpful, kind and efficient. Dr Park immediately identified the problem after multiple X-rays and arranged root canal work the next day. Dr Park was gentle from beginning to end of my procedure that lasted about one hour. I recommend Dr Park for any dental work you need. I was pleased to be greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff, all of whom did their best to ensure my comfort every step of the way. It was my first time here so everyone made sure I knew what my options were, what they were going to do, and how they were going to do it. There was even someone who helped me understand my insurance and what it did/didn't cover. The exam and cleaning was pleasant and the dentist walked me through the issues they discovered (that my previous dentist did not) and gave me a few options to handle them. I don't like "the dentist" but really have had a great experience with Dr. Park at Bright Dental Care. The entire staff that I've encountered (most or all I think) has been amazing. The office manager up front is sweet and works hard to be as helpful and informative as possible about the giant pain in the ass that is billing and insurance companies. The two dental assistants and a third trainee were all amazing and hyper-communicative. The girls were friendly in between and checked in on me often throughout each time I was there. The doctor redid some old metal fillings quickly and without pain. They asked several times throughout if I was comfortable and were basically adamant I tell them if anything was too uncomfortable or hurt (it is worth noting that it never was). They really care about the experience patients have and it shows. I have also gone for two cleanings and the hygienist was just as kind, attentive and skillful as the rest. I hope to never have to seek out another dentist again - as long as Dr Park is around I have 'my dentist'. read more

Dr. Park and his crew were excellent. I had an emergency situation where I ended up having two teeth extracted. I was only in Bakersfield for work for the day, I was alone and dentists give me immense amounts of anxiety. I called to see if they could squeeze me in & Keisha was so lovely on the phone next to my panic, I already felt better. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and a reassurance that all would be fine. During the actual exam, Gabby was incredible. When I say I have dentist anxiety, I'm not joking. I started crying the moment I walked through the door. But Gabby explained every little thing to me, held my hand throughout the procedure and continually assured me that I was doing just fine. Dr. Park is a quiet, but smart man. He knew exactly what we needed to do, and while I'm sure I scared him with my exorcist-like reactions to the procedure, he made it quick and as "painless" as possible. From the moment the door opened it was great super friendly staff. No sitting around waiting to be helped checked me in and sat for about maybe 2 minutes before they took me back and started everything. I had not visited a dentist office in "a few years" due to a horrible past experience. After a few minutes of online research I came across this place and decided to give them a try. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcome and comfortable. I was a bit hesitant because I was to undergo a root canal but the staff assured me it wasn't as bad as it sounded. Once the Dr began the procedure, both his and his assistants calm energy helped me relax to the point where I almost fell asleep. The hygienist took over once the Dr completed the procedure and the deep cleaning with her was a breeze as well. I don't often post reviews unless it's a terrible or great experience. In this case it was a great experience and I would like to recommend bright dental care to anyone who has had a negative experience in the past. This place is like a breath of fresh air considering the horrible dental experiences I've had at Western Dental. All the staff are friendly and personable. The dentist, Dr. Park is knowledgeable and kind. Everyone had a smile on their face, everyone that worked there. I loved the way Desirae, my daughter's hygienist spoke to her and told her what was going to happen. Our wait time was almost nonexistent for our appointment, we showed up and our room was waiting for us almost immediately following our arrival. They didn't do any dental work without checking to see what insurance would cover and what our out of pocket expenses would be. Save your $ !!!!! This office is not the place to go! I scheduled an appointment after checking reviews and the price of a replacement filling where I was told I had a small cavity, BUT. This dentist told me I did not have a cavity......ran me thru x-ray's. 14 views and cleaning and polishing and then told me I had a small cavity that needed to be taken care of....I said that is why I came today!!!! By the time I paid for this unnecessary bunch of things today and IF I had scheduled for the cavity I have now....I am out much more money then I was at my most wonderful regular dentist who has a very clean office, wonderful honest licensed dental hygienists and is a very special office to go to. Beware....the difference is a VW. Vr's and BMW!!!!! Also just had my teeth cleaning in January, and now again in March!!!!!! read more

Horrible horrible dentist!! I got a cleaning done on my left side he was too fast and left right after like he knew he did something wrong!! It's been 5 days and my mouth still hurts I talk funny and it hurts when I brush my teeth and eat!! I've never had pain in my mouth before letting him work on my teeth! I had a second opinion and they said he must've did something wrong cause my mouth isn't suppose to hurt, maybe tender for the day and the next day at the most. My mom also had her teeth done here and he hit her muscle with the needle and her jaw went to the side and he bruised her face up! Horrible work!! They don't even deserve one star read more

Saved me a weekend of pain! I had a cavity in a tooth that had cracked a few weeks ago which I had been putting off getting taken care of. Well I woke up one Saturday with a horrible toothache. Not very many dentist offices are open on Saturday, I called about 6 offices, including my regular dentist office, and no one was open. I called Bright, and thank goodness they said they could get me in as another patient had canceled. I found out later by the girls up front that they are normally closed on Saturdays but the doctors had been on vacation and were seeing patients that Saturday only, so basically I got lucky, but I still appreciated them taking me. I got my tooth taken care of and got a prescription for pain for when the numbing wore off. I felt much better the rest of my weekend. The dentist did a great job, the girls up front are friendly and professional, and the office was nice and clean, and I'm big on cleanliness. I will continue to use this office for my dental needs. read more
