A few hiccups, but they were always dealt with in a respectful way and timely manner. We recently ended service with them only because we are trying to sell our home and we are trying to cut costs. We figured we could maintain the pool ourselves through the rest of the year. We called and were able to cancel our monthly service with them pretty easily. They were kind and helpful, but no information was given about the way they would leave the pool on their final service. Their departure, unfortunately, was disappointing and ended up costing us almost $400 to fix their mistake which actually defeated the entire purpose of trying to do this on our own to save money. I'm not sure if it's standard practice to leave everything with the pool completely OFF, but some notice and communication would have been nice. Everything was turned off. There was no power going into our pool. The filter, vacuum, pump, everything was turned off and in August heat this was a disaster for algae to grow. We didn't notice it until it was too late. I guess it grows quick in the heat because 2 separate trips to the pool store and $400 later we were able to get the pool back, but what a disappointment. I thought we had a week from the time Nevergreen serviced our pool until we needed to worry about it, but that was being under the impression that the filter, pump, vacuum etc was still running and keeping things clean. I do want to note that I really enjoyed our pool guy - I wish I remembered his name! Austin? He was super nice and helpful and when he learned we were cancelling he even took some time to show me a few things about the pool and equipment. Super helpful. I don't blame him. I don't imagine it would be his responsibility to communicate with me those details and he doesn't see me every week regardless. I am more upset with the back office and the lack of communication (no call or email explaining what to expect) when closing out an account and not going over the way things will end. Unless this is not common practice -- if everything should have been left on as it was, then I'm sorry to whoever services our pool lol I don't want to get him specifically in trouble, but this was a very costly mistake for us in an already difficult financial time. I watched him pour the acid directly from the bottle into my pool without diluting it first. Then, he proceeded to go around the pool with the pool brush brushing and splashing the water up onto the pool concrete coping. He said this is needed to circulate the acid. I went outside a couple hours after he left. I saw something that looked like black marks on the concrete coping near where he poured the acid in. Upon further examination, I realized they were holes in the concrete. The acid pitted by pool coping. Now I need to see if someone who does concrete repair can fill in the holes so they don't get any larger.

He was super friendly and was coincidentally already servicing the house we were purchasing so he was familiar with the pool. The work he said needed to be done matched what our inspector suggested. Mike confirmed we needed a new pump and quoted the same price our inspector estimated. This shows his pricing was reasonable and upcharge was minimal. Mike also said we needed a new pool sweep (which we desperately did) and told me the least expensive place to get it. I purchased that and he installed it at no charge. Being a first time pool-owner I had many questions and Mike always responded to my texts and calls. He also helped find us a great company to install solar panels for our pool! A few weeks after we moved in we purchased a spa and are having Matthews Pool Service service that as well. One day our pool turned cloudy and I called Mike. He had someone come out that day and take a look. A few hours later all was fixed! I would highly recommend Matthews Pool Service and supporting a local company. This pool guy is a scam! He has no integrity and charges you for services he does not perform…read more Lengthy but please read! I used Brian for approximately one year. We agreed to weekly (every Wednesday) chemicals and emptying the baskets. Over time, we noticed that the baskets always contained debris after Brian left on Wednesdays. Last Wednesday, I watched Brian do the chemicals, but he did not empty the skimmer basket or filter basket. Immediately after Brian left, I checked both baskets and they were full of bugs and debris. I gave him the benefit of doubt as it might have been an oversight. I wanted to confirm/dispel my suspicion if this was in fact an oversight by Brian. Today, I checked my baskets to verify there were bugs and debris inside. I watched through my window as Brian did the chemicals but again, he did not empty any baskets per the agreement. Immediately after he left, I checked the baskets and they were filled with bugs and debris. I called Brian to verify our agreement. Brian confirmed that our agreement was to perform chemical work and empty the baskets every week. I then explained that my baskets were full of bugs and debris. Brian told me "I'm pretty sure I emptied the baskets but Im not 100% certain. Brian told me he would returned 10 minutes later to empty the baskets. After Brian emptied the baskets, he apologized and said "I think I forgot". I went on to mention that I watched him last week and he did not empty the baskets then either. His  response to me was, "I'm pretty sure I did, but I must have forgotten".  I asked how he would make this right. Brian's response to me was, " I don't know what to tell you. I will make sure to do it going forward". Unfortunately, if Brian could not be honest now, I have no reason to believe that he was honest in the past and would be honest in the future. Therefore, I had no choice but to not move forward with him. If you're looking for a pool guy, don't go with Brian and his company. If you're already using him, I would caution you to hold him accountable to your agreement.
