My son would come home saying he heard cussing by them all day and being told countless time that they cant wait until the kids leave. They have zero control over the environment and have a lot of throwing of toys and other objects. There was an incident of inappropriate behavior that was never properly addressed or handled. They tend to ignore any issues and just agree that it isn't ok.... yeah we know. I had advised them that we will be leaving due to all of this and the teachers inappropriate behavior. The next day I was charge for the next month a week and a half early. Overall, this is by far the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I have ever had with child care. Completely unprofessional environment. I am still in shock with the things my son would come home and tell me he overhead or was told from the "teachers" There is not an ounce of this place I would recommend.

The staff truly love the children like their own, and their goal each and every day is to make sure that the children are in a safe, fun learning environment. The academic curriculum surpasses all others. I love that my children are able to learn how to read, write, speak Spanish and French, but also learn about respecting others and cooperation outside the home. I participated in this school for one year. I left because the school age teacher was unkind to my child. I spoke with the teacher to try to get a better understanding and the manager of the school. I don't think the teacher was reprimanded. I like the location of this center, if it weren't for the teacher we would still be there. Children under three and infants are well cared for.

There have been oftentimes classrooms are over ratio to state guidelines. When it comes to communication among teachers, it's not quite there. It has become common to hear "I don't know" when asking a question in regards to my child's day. There have been times I have seen teachers not paying attention to kids whether it's taking over the fence while kids are on the playground and their back is turned to them or being on their phone. There was a time I came to drop off diapers and all the teachers were just sitting in chairs. Not one single of the new teachers and assistant director ever bothered to introduce themselves and I can guarantee don't know my name as a parent. Incident reports no longer go home. My child got hit and had a bloody nose and no one bothered to call or send home an incident report but rather just updated in the app. After having a sit-down, the owner and assistant director were not very welcoming in bringing up concerns so not all concerns were brought up. It's very much a "can do no wrong attitude" even when my daughter came home with fingerprint marks on her leg that looked like it had been from holding too tight during diaper changes. Upon leaving, I could overhear them gossiping about me as a parent when they thought the door was shut. It's not the first time though that concerns got brushed under the rug. Sasha has been the only asset to this company and we have appreciated all that she has done. I have attached pictures of the fingerprints, the bite mark from when my daughter came home with (I had to tell them it looked like a bite mark for them to even look at the cameras because they weren't watching and didn't see it happen), a teacher on her phone, as well as the threats. *Since posting our review on google I have received quite the message about being sued for posting our experience which should indicate how well parental feedback is taken.

Just a little over two months ago my son started at Once Upon a Daycare (right behind Jersey's) in green and I cannot tell you the night and day difference I have seen with him. While atkas is only 2, he has shown many milestone delays, especially with speech, as well as showing several austisic traits. With all of that said-- Miss Rosie has such incredible knowledge with the extra help that he has needed and I have found myself able to breathe a little bit again. I cannot say great enough things about finding this place and Miss Rosie-- but if you're looking for an affordable, helpful, fun place for your kid to go I highly recommend Once Upon a Daycare!

The teachers in the two Infant classrooms are fantastic. I have heard all sorts of horror stories from other daycare centers, and was so glad to have found one that really strives for quality. The odd time an empty food container isn't sent home or the wrong crib sheet is put into my kid's bag is irrelevant. I know my child is being taken care of, and the teachers there really love him. And I love seeing him progress with things like sign language or the noises he makes, and knowing they are helping him developmentally as well. Goddard also uses an app that allows you to get updates during the day, pictures sent to you throughout the day, and for you to send the center messages if you forgot to tell a teacher something at drop-off. Other daycare centers in the area use paper/pencil for daily reports, and provide much less information. And the pictures really help me get through my work day sometimes!

I do not recommend the Akron Goddard School for many, many reasons…read more First, my 15 month old was transitioned to an older room by himself (not in a group of peers) abruptly, with no overlap or plan in place to help him adjust to the new routines and teachers. His drop-offs got worse and worse until we removed him from the school. I later learned that there is supposed to be a written transition agreement plan signed by both the school and the parents. Second, when we made friends with other families in the same room, we learned that we were being charged $200-300 more per month for the exact same service (same number of children, same number of days/week, same room, no meals). These families were not part of any corporate or income-based discount, were not aware of being on any promotional rate, and started at the school after us, so they weren't being grandfathered into a lower rate. When we spoke to one family and asked what they paid for 3 days vs 5 days a week, they were perplexed because they had been told it was a flat rate no matter how many days they sent their child. When we tried to ask the owner why we were paying $200-300 more per month than other families, the owner would not make himself available to discuss the issue and we had to go through the director. She was kind about it but couldn't give us any explanation. When the owner finally contacted us, it was through email to tell us he would not refund our pre-paid August tuition since we left voluntarily. In the same email, he accused us of threatening the director and cced his attorney on the email. Finally, the owner lied to us during our initial tour. He told us (bragged about it, actually, which is why I remember it so clearly) that all additional activities (like soccer, dance, gymnastics for example) were free to all students because he does not want children to feel left out. This is why, he claimed, they charge a larger yearly registration fee-- to cover the additional activities. This turned out not to be true. They did charge us a larger yearly registration fee ($300) compared with other schools in the area, but we learned that any extra activities cost extra. I do not recommend the Akron Goddard School. If you are already there, I recommend asking others in your room what they pay for the same service and being very proactive with making a plan for your child to transition between rooms, because they did not look out for my child's well-being in the transition and I did not know enough at the time to insist on anything else.

They remember you and build a great relationship with your child. The preparation our daughter received at Medina Goddard for grade school allowed us to send her to Kindergarten with confidence and most importantly she was a confident 4 year old ready for kindergarten. The facility was clean, the classrooms are nice and again, the STAFF WAS AWESOME. Many of the teachers who were there when my now five-year-old started as a baby are still there now taking care of my three-year-old. They did a great job keeping everyone safe during the pandemic and managed to close for only two and a half months. It has all the convenience of a corporate daycare center, but has a tight-knit family vibe, which is nice. Probably the biggest con is that they don't provide lunch, so we have to pack their lunches every day. They do provide breakfast and an afternoon snack, though. You can tell the teachers genuinely love and care for the kids. My daughter had some behavioral issues when she was three, and they were so patient with her and worked with her and us to get her through it, which I really appreciate. My daughter will be going there a few days a week this summer, and they have fun field trips planned three days a week for the school-aged kids. Next year will be my son's last year there full-time, and I'm genuinely bummed about it!
