One of the staff had been through it herself on moving to Bend from PDX. All of her pets developed bladder crystals due to the high level of minerals here in the water. She told me what I would need to do (switch to distilled water) and what supplements to use. My pup is allergic to corn and the vet told me he would have to be on a special corn diet for bladder crystals for the next two months. She found me a food over Chewy that was not corn-based and recommended another food brand that has been a game changer for both of my pups to supplement with until the Chewy order arrived. Fast forward to the 4th of July. I spoke to another knowledgeable staff member about my other dog's anxiety with firewords and she made recommendations that were so effective, we decided to curb his anxiety naturally from now on with the 2 products she gave us samples of. My pup was like a puppy again, playful, cuddling, tender, soft. We appreciate their return policy, too, that allows us to make returns if needed. They have never judged us as we have been honest about pet concerns, which can be emotional.

Water was luke warm, they handed me a 1- small hand towel to dry my 19 lb dog. That only covers the face. The vacuum set up was very hard so didn't use it as my dog was freezing cold. When I'm paying, gal Told me to tap and saw they're asking for tip. I did the work so no tip. Anyway, i would not come back.

You don't pay over a thousand dollars to a breeder for a pure bred dog and then instantly have $500 in vet bills the moment you get home. Ridiculous. Deanna was completely indifferent to all of my questions about the dogs health and possibility of infection. The dog was aggressevly eating his poop at all times all over my house. Deanna blew off my concerns. She pushed it all on me to pay for fecal samples, drugs and to cure his poop eating through training. If the giardia had been treated by her prior to pickup, none of these issues would have arisen. Horrible experience. We decided to cut our losses and return the sick pup to her. We lost over $1,000 due to losing our deposit and vet bills. I will never speak to her again.

Everyone I've met at events and meetings is super nice and not snubby as tends to be the case with groups such as this. I've visited a few in the other places I've lived and the Oregon Ferret Shelter was definitely the most welcoming. If you're looking to adopt a ferret, and have researched what it means to keep one as a pet, I definitely recommend adopting one from here. They also offer ferret boarding for a very reasonable price and you know your ferrets will be well taken care of. If you need a place to surrender your ferret where you know they will be cared for until they find a great new home, then this is good place as well. Like I said, its clean, cozy, and you can tell everyone there cares about ferrets. My other favorite pet store (Pet Express, an independent) doesn't carry Science Diet products, for instance. Getting prescription cat food is not a big hassle, either. Just present your vet's prescription to the counter in the back and you'll get a PetSmart card good for a year.

We both love cats but agree that it is too much fur for us to deal with on a regular basis and it wouldn't be fair to kitty since we travel quite a bit. We were looking for something fun to do indoors to escape the afternoon heat in Bend and found ourselves here. The cat room is set up very nicely - plenty of toys, cat towers, cat walks, and space for the cats to be. There were about 10-ish cats of varying age when we showed up. Coming in the afternoon meant most of them were pretty sleepy, but we had a rambunctious bonded pair of kitties who eagerly needed some play attention. It seems you can make online appts to visit, but we walked in and it was fine. We lucked out and had the place to ourselves. $20 for 50 min of cat time (they give you a timer) and a free bottled beverage from their fridge. They have a restroom and place to wash your hands. It is shoes off inside the cat room so bring socks. And yes - you will be covered in fur so bring a lint roller for post-cat time if you don't want to track all the fur back into your car/home.
