Had a great time at Brightwaters. Good selection of pumpkins, cool animals to feed, play areas for kids and an ok hayride (not much to it). I am happy I went during the week and didn't have to pay an admission fee because I do not think it would of been worth it for us since we went just for pumpkins and to see animals everything else offered was an added bonus.

A hidden gem right in here Bay Shore, Long Island. We have been pumpkin picking here for the last three years and each time have had a great experience. The farm almost always has a coupon for admission on their website- typically buy 4 tickets, get 1 free- which is great when bringing the whole family. They have animals to see/feed and pony rides & inflatables for the kids. The also have a cute hayride around the perimeter of the farm. They offer great snacks for purchase including apple cider donuts, fresh baked cookies, lemonade, turkey legs and pumpkin beer. Additionally there is a gift shop that sells T-shirt's, fall decor, pies, apple cider and other fall items. The pumpkins are plentiful and it's easy to find what your looking for. It is best to go early, because parking fills up and it gets busier as the day goes by. We love being able to go here with the family and not need to dedicate the entire day to driving out east!

Love this place! Such a nice farm tucked in the middle of the neighborhood. Love the selection of baked good and pumpkins

I came here for some late minute family fun. I live about 45 minutes away in Nassau county and it was convenient to drive to from my house. They had ample parking and it was easy to find. They had a lot of staff which was great because they was always someone there to assist us if we needed anything. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and they charged us $5 per person for admission. They had two concessions stands. They sold turkey legs, cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, fries and many drinks. They have a country store which sold all the fall necessities such as cider donuts, apple cider, pumpkin and apple pies, fall decorations and candies. They also had pumpkin picking, hayrides, ziggy the clown, face painting and animal feeding. The place was kinda pricey to be honest but they gotta make their money I understand. I just wish it was a little less pricey and had more activities for people older than 6 haha. It is great for young families who have kids 6 and younger. It was also not too crowded which I loved as well. Would I recommend this place to people? Yes I would recommend it to people who have small children who want to have some fall fun!

Are the same attractions available during the week? I found out about this place too late, and I believe this is the last week. I would love to take my 4 year old :(

I ordered an Old English Panini ($13.99) and Snapple peach tea ($3.50). I suppose I was reading and clicking through the website too quickly because I missed the delivery fee was $6.99 and another fee for $1.00. It wasn't on the receipt that was e-mailed to me, instead I saw it on the receipt when I received my order. It took about an hour after I put in the order to arrive though I'm very close and it was off peak time. The Old English Panini was tasty and filling, but not worth all the additional fees. Another time, around Thanksgiving, I purchased an award winning old fashioned apple crumb pie for a family gathering. Since White Post Farms sells freshly baked homemade pies daily, I definitely wanted to try it. However, I thought the apple pie was okay and nothing really special unfortunately.

They had a children's play area where there were slides and piggy ride and haystack, a barrel which my kids enjoyed fully. Super muddy and dusty so bring extra change of clothes. My son ripped his pants playing in the wooden area... My daughter fully enjoyed the adult sized slide. Petting zoo $17 for 2 admission - including food to feed the goats and cow? Eck. Have you ever been on a flight with Spirit Airlines where they nickel and dime you? Yes? Imagine that but at Schmitts. $5 fee to use their wagon to carry pumpkins. They also had eggplants on the vines. Which I was very interested in, but they were all shriveled... Sunflower field was pretty though. The workers here were friendly. Cold cider was good. Hot chocolate was way too sweet IMO, my kids didn't even want it. If you live on LI this place is convenient for you. Less than 20 mins drive - Since I was short on time I decided to come here for my annual pumpkin picking w my besties. However they were not thrilled . One friend had a 2 yr old and my other had a 3 yr old. They def felt it was too expensive of an admission for their kiddos. The ambiance was nice for pictures as they have pumpkins set up in the shape of hearts. Maybe when I'm rich like Rockefellar I'll be back. Till then I'll take the 1+hr drive to Mattiticuk - Harbes where they have wineries and don't nickel & dime you.

You have to pay extra for everything there and there really is very little to do. There is nothing for older kids at all. They have a very small bounce house and barrel ride both which cost extra $$. You can only do each activity one time. We were there for maybe 15 minutes. The hayride was probably the most pitiful one I've ever been on. It goes around the pumpkin house on a small patch of lawn with pumpkins that you have to pay to purchase. The hayride and the plastic duck races were the only thing you could do with the price of admission. They should not charge admission at all imo. My backyard is more exciting. When I went to ask about the bounce house tickets I mentioned there wasn't very much to do. The owner was very defensive. We left shortly after that conversation. I told her we wouldn't be returning when I left. She followed us out yelling. I actually had to tell her to back off and leave us alone after she almost knocked down one of my two year olds. Someone else in the parking lot told me they would even let them in to look at the flowers with out paying admission. They were a couple without kids with them and they lived nearby. Honestly just AVOID.

Initially the farm's main crop was strawberries, and thus the farm was named Strawberry Hollow Farm for their main crop and for the hollow that it sits in. Harvey's government work as a research wildlife biologist took him out of the country and away from his farm in June, the most important month for strawberries. By 1981, Harvey transitioned from growing strawberries to growing members of the pumpkin family, because the growing schedule for pumpkins matched his work schedule. When he retired in 2001, Harvey realized his dream to farm his land full time. In addition to farming crops, Strawberry Hollow Farm also has a small gift shop where they sell various crafts. My family and I recently visited Strawberry Hollow Farm for the first time. There are so many different varieties of pumpkins and other various gourds on display, and their mums were just breathtaking. My wife and I dressed our son like Linus from "Peanuts". There were several spots on the farm for us to stage a "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" photo shoot. In addition to jack-o-lantern pumpkins and sugar pumpkins, Harvey cultivates giant pumpkins that can weigh up to 300 pounds (the kind that you see at a County Fair). The craft shop was really cool too; lots of Autumn and Halloween decorations. In the winter months, everything is themed around Christmas decorations. We purchased a couple of sugar pumpkins to take with us. We enjoyed our time at Strawberry Hollow Farm and we plan on returning in the future.
