I saw a diamond online that I was interested in. I made an appointment with the Austin, Texas location to speak to a sales person and see the actual diamond "in person" that I am thinking about getting, yet I have not been informed if they have the diamond. I have a feeling they do not, as it's still for sale online. The way things are going, I do not feel comfortable driving over an hour to their store just to be told they do not have the diamond. And they don't seem to be interested in keeping me in the loop regarding if they received it or not. Brilliant Earth, the Austin Domain location, was an excellent choice for my boyfriend and I. I'd seen ads online and checked out their website. We looked at other stores also but ultimately decided to book an appointment here. Jennifer/Jenn G was our jewelry specialist for our appointment. And when we arrived, she was accompanied by Elise who was also very helpful. I had no specifics in mind other than I wanted something simple and timeless. Jenn had some items from my online wishlist pulled aside. I tried them on and we tried them with wedding bands as well. After being on the fence, she pulled some other rings by her recommendation and Elise's, which a few stood out for sure and matched the style/look I was going for. I appreciated they encouraged me to try on the rings and switch combos to my liking, even suggesting different band styles to see if it would help me decide on which engagement rings I thought were top contenders. It felt like they truly cared about how I felt about the ring and were not rushing me through. And they weren't trying to upsell or push other styles on me that didn't fit the look I wanted. After we found THE setting, we discussed diamonds, and both Jenn and Elise were so well informed. It was reassuring given I had no real knowledge of what the 4 C's were. They explained it all to us and answered our questions, and Elise even referenced her personal rings to show us differences in clarity. I was able to see some diamonds and try them on. We discussed budget and once they had our budget, they both looked to find us what we wanted on our terms. We were so happy and excited. They truly make it as easy as possible and special. They had flexible payment options. Jenn went above and beyond for us since we had some technical difficulties with the links to complete purchase. But any time we reached out, she and the BE customer service reps were so kind. I commend the BE customer service reps. They were transparent in their capabilities and did what they could for us in the meantime. Jenn got all our technical issues sorted out and we've officially made our purchase. My boyfriend and I are thrilled to take next steps in picking out wedding bands and were excited to learn we could continue that process with Jenn. So let me be completely transparent about my initial experience with Brilliant Earth, only because I want everyone to know that this is a real review. I went into their store in Austin to purchase an engagement ring that I knew my girlfriend would love. Walking in, I already had a good feeling. The staff was super nice and welcomed me. I was helped almost immediately. The lady that helped me (I wish I got her name so I can give her a shoutout) was extremely helpful and genuinely excited for my future proposal. Ordering the ring was very easy and a great experience. Unfortunately, waiting for the ring was not as pleasant of an experience as it was ordering the ring. The delivery date for my ring was delayed several times, all the way up to the week before my planned to proposal date. Mind you, this was quite a bit of time after I placed the order (close to 2 months). That created so much unnecessary stress on me! I was extremely displeased with this, and much more so, disappointed because this ring was exactly what I wanted. The customer service I reached out to were nothing but helpful. However, that did not stop the delay, which was the biggest issue for me. I had no choice but to cancel my order. After that, someone from upper management reach out to me to talk about my experience and find a way to resolve my issues. I expressed to her my concerns and disappointment. She was empathetic to my concerns and receptive to my criticisms. I felt like I was heard, which is all I can ask for as a customer. So long story short, I ended up proposing using a ring from a different company which was second best to me. I showed my now fiance the initial ring I ordered for her and she agreed, as much as she loved the ring I used to propose, the ring from Brilliant Earth was much more beautiful. So I went back to the store, and just like how it was the first time, the person helping me was helpful and the experience was great! The ring, this time around, was delivered close to the intended date (2 weeks after). My fiance and I went to pick up the ring at the store and both associates who helped me out the first and second time were both working! Both were excited for my fiance to have the ring of her dreams on her finger! Seeing my fiance excited for the ring and having the Brilliant Earth staff excited for us just gives me a warm feeling throughout. Overall, I'd like to say the Brilliant Earth did a great job with the ring and showed me that they care for their customers. I would've chosen to give them 4/5 stars, but I feel like they've redeemed themselves and deserve the five stars. Well done, Brilliant Earth. Here are some suggestions for your customers from an existing customer. Please create a better communication with your customers, especially in regards to the delivery date, tracking number, and even just expectations for when it will be delivered. My good friend got her engagement ring at BE, loved it and recommended I check it out. I went for an engagement ring 30 minute appointment and met with Veronica G. I went into the appointment really knowing nothing about rings, what I wanted, etc. and was excited to learn, try things on, and find a few styles I was interested in. Veronica was about as lackluster as you could get with the customer service - she did not make the experience enjoyable and to be honest I felt awkward during the appointment. She had her supervisor shadowing her as well which did not add to the awkwardness that I felt. Felt like she was checking boxes explaining the 4 C's to me and just wanted to get through the ring try-on time as quickly as possible. I went in teeming with excitement and walked out feeling weird, confused and not knowing any styles I felt passionately about, and defeated. I would do -100 stars if possible. This company has gotten it wrong from Day 1. My biggest regret was coming to Brilliant Earth from the start. My engagement ring? Not properly set, caused cuts/now scars on my surrounding fingers as the diamonds were loose and the setting was sharp and pointed externally. It was asymmetrical despite the symmetry being the intention of the chosen setting... Within 30 days (being their policy), they still charged us $100+ for the repair when it was their fault. THEN they quoted us a repair time, which would work out as it would be returned to us in 2 weeks for my dying grandmother to see as I was on my way to visit her two weeks later for the purpose of my engagement, and who knows, but nope, they extended the repair by 2 weeks after that so a very much missed life moment and memory (1/many). Fast forward to forgiveness...(on our end, they literally said, "sorry bout ya, bummer"...) My wedding band and my husband's wedding band - after we went into the store and had a hour long meeting with one of their "specialists," we chose exactly what we wanted, paid for that, and after ANOTHER delayed delivery (arrived 2 weeks later as we literally were leaving for our wedding that day), delivered 2 entirely different bands that we had requested and ordered - they were unwilling to make right until we paid AGAIN for the corrected ones. So we had our wedding anyways with the incorrect bands because what else could be done. THEIR SOLVE, was for us to pay for store pieces they could lend us (not the same ones we were going for), but could not just lend us something because their customer service is so poor. They nodded and said "uhhuh, we understand" followed by no action as well as their local/nationwide team continues to be MIA when they're needed, outside of asking us to pay more. My husband is truly just wanting to keep his at this point because who knows at this point how much further they could get this wrong. That sucks he won't get what he wants but is dealing with it on my behalf. Next part: We return to the store after we got married a week later in the incorrect wedding bands, pictures that will never be redone. We ask for a 1.5 week fix to return the incorrect bands for the ones we originally paid for, spoken to all management they could offer and were GUARANTEED delivery by 11/9, have now pushed it out another week, 11/16. Where once again, elderly grandparents will miss the opportunity to see the symbol of our love and future. I get it, sounds materialistic as it's not anything more than a symbol, but this company has one job. Centered around this momentous occasion in one's life. And they just can't get anything right? This company sucks, they don't care about you, and they will not do anything to make things right despite it being their fault and getting in touch with them is bull shit. Pretty sure the intention for us not being able to call the actual store we are working with is because this happens more often than not and they would rather send our frustrations to an off-site office that truly has nothing to do with them, vs. answering a phone call/email and owning their mistakes and working with us. Brilliant earth, in regards to rings, you have ruined every step of our engagement and wedding. Your desire to keep us away from upper management is concerning, as well as your false promises for those expecting high priced items in a timely manner with proper updates and communication. Do. Monica was a delight to work with!  My fiancé and I truly enjoyed her genuine excitement during our journey to find the perfect teal Sapphire for my engagement ring. Monica is kind, patient, and extremely helpful with her industry knowledge of gemstones.  After searching the Brilliant Earth website, Monica was able to get most of the Sapphires I requested in at the Austin location to view in person! AWESOME! We could not have asked for a more helpful consultant.  She was fantastic in answering all our questions. She also made sure we found exactly what we were looking for by showing us other stones for comparison similar to the ones I initially choose. First time visiting the store. I usually purchase online. In my opinion, the customer service was not welcoming. Nobody greeted us when we walked in nor did they offer help. Tiffany was the employee we interacted with. The rude manner in which she yelled for the next in line made it seem like I was at the DMV and the store was not at all busy. She had an unpleasant and unfriendly demeanor and appeared uninterested in helping/communicating while I was trying on jewelry so we decided to return my item and will be shopping for jewelry elsewhere in Austin. Brilliant Earth has lost my business as a former customer due to the negative experience we had at the storefront. read more

**update** After a disappointing in store experience, I was connected with an escalations manager (Macee). She was very thoughtful and responsive. Working with her gave me the confidence to ultimately purchase the ring my husband and I have been looking at for two years. She was able to arrange for expedited shipping, and sent it right to my house. And even got it there in time for me to wear to a family event. I appreciated having her direct phone line and email. And She stayed in communication with me the whole time. She is wonderful and I hope they clone her. Things I hope they fix quickly- Even though I had an appointment, the store associates helped someone else without an appointment ahead of me. They were ~20 min late getting to me. And only then because I asked when they could help me with my appointment. Then the rep did not make any notes of what size ring sample I tried on, so when I called back with questions, the customer service phone reps weren't able to help me order. The Customer Service reps were also not able to be consultative at all with tips on ring sizing, etc. (I ultimately got a $6 ring sizer on Amazon to figure this out) I am hoping it was just an off day for the folks in the Austin store location. I got married at the end of may and wore it until halfway through august. My ring has lost at least ten stones. I take it off when showering and doing any strenuous activity. That's TWO and a HALF months of wear. Brilliant Earth is garbage and their customer service is even worse. They blamed ME for the stones coming out. So basically they take zero responsibility for the quality of this ring. In fact the woman we spoke to let us know that I shouldn't even be wearing it while I shop for groceries. Her words, I kid you not. If I wanted a ring I could only wear on special occasions, it wouldn't be my WEDDING ring. My wife can tell you more horror stories about the horrible experience she had while ordering my rings. That was another nightmare in itself. My advice to to RUN the other way and stay clear of this company that clearly doesn't care about its customers and it's obvious that I'm not the first to have this issue with them. I just read some reviews of people that had the EXACT same issue with their rings. So basically I now don't have a wedding or an engagement ring anymore. They offered to melt it down and remake the ring, which is not going to work for me if I have to have the ring remade every couple months. My partner and I are starting to look at engagement rings to decide what kind of style I like. We decided to go with brilliant earth as they kept showing me ads after ads and upon some research with good reviews of their customer service, we finally made a ring appointment to go in in person to speak with their diamond expert and to try out rings. Note that they always suggest for you to book an appointment as they only have limited option for you to see and try if you do a walk in. They first time we booked an appointment, they called us a day ahead of time and once again the day of to make sure that we are still coming to the appointment. But shortly after their second call, they called again to let us know that our appointment is cancelled, because the diamond expert was ill. Given that it is Covid period, we understand that that's not out of the ordinary, so we booked an appointment for the next weekend. Come the next weekend, after repeated calls again to make sure we attend our appointment, they once again called us the day of the appointment to tell us that their diamond expert was ill and could not make the appointment. We decided since we were around the area, we'll just walk in the ask some questions. When we went in, two other couples were going for their appointment, and so we asked the representative what happened to our appointment since other appointments were still fulfilled. She told us unapologetically that the person supposedly serving us just "didn't show up for work". The staff weren't even apologetic about our experience with them and just told us to book another appointment. At this time, we have decided that brilliant earth just didn't live up to the expectations that their supposed reviews gave them. I honestly hope that this was just a one off bad experience, but given such experience, I'm no longer considering buying it from brilliant earth or recommending anyone there, because if our first few contact with them is so unprofessional, I wonder what will happen with follow ups such as repairs and cleanings after our purchase. read more

The jewelry - absolutely phenomenal. My fiancee loves the ring. But as the saying goes, the real difference maker is the service after the sale. It is astonishingly not great. 1st) when you go to get resizing or modification from silver to rose gold it takes weeks on weeks to the ring back. (You've already completed the purchase by this point). 2nd) they will refund you the warranty from the purchase of the ring and you have to repurchase it on the modified ring. They told me for two months they refunded the purchase, never saw the credit on my bank, never saw a refund receipt yet they tried to charge me repeatedly. After two months I got a confirmation of a refund and then a few days after that, I got the refund to my bank. Throughout that process, customer service reps dropped the ball on communication. 3rd) you have to call their specified number to repurchase the warranty on the ring, I've called several times, gone through the automated process (yes, there is no person, it's automated) and it's a broken system. It hangs up on you. I would still suggest the jewerly cause it is great, I just hope they can fix this process. read more
