WOW were we surprised. The vintner grows all his grapes onsite. Production is limited. The quality of the wines was surprisingly good. We were all blown away by the how balanced and complex most of the wines presented. We had the Whites -Vidal, Chardonel, Edelweiss, and Reds - Marquette, Vincent, Frontenac. Most of the wines were aged 6-7 yrs. We bought 11 mixed bottles. They do tastings only, no food of opening of purchased bottles. For our first stop, we sampled wine and cheese at Hardwick winery while also being welcomed and lead through the historic main house by the owner himself. After a quaint lunch in Hardwick center (a cafe in the post office!), the farmer of Round Table Farm's creamery gave us an educational walkthrough of the facility and "caves". We sample their cheese products and met the cute goats. The trip was well arranged, nicely paced, and filled with knowledge along the way. Scarlett has a passion for her region that she was eager to share with pep and appreciation. Bernie was a pure gentleman and a smooth driver when the roads occasionally became windy or bumpy. Both were sincere and charming in their roles on the tour. Not only would I recommend taking a trip, I'm 1000% going on more. What a great day they made for us!!

She was even able to accommodate special requests such as needing exit rows (my husband is very tall and needs the legroom for a long flight). As someone who had never used a travel agent before and always thought it may be cost prohibitive, I was wrong! Lorraine was able to keep us under budget so that we had extra money to do little excursion tours to the Roman Forum, the Vatican, and Pompeii (all bucket list places for me!). She also was able to advise when tours weren't really necessary - our trip to Capri was a good example - we were able to easily tour the island ourselves and take a ferry. Above all, she made it so easy - presenting options clearly and booking everything quickly. The itinerary she gave us to follow was top-notch and had all necessary contact info on it. I spent $120 between food and drinks.. but the real kicker is *it's not a real restaurant* you go up and order like a Burger King and then you go up and pick up like Burger King but they still want a 20% tip. so I don't know what they want their 20% tip for when no one comes to you, no one checks on you. No one to ask you how it is. they don't care. also, they only sell single serve bottles of soda so there's no refills. We ended up spending like $22 on soda alone. * I noticed on their Facebook that they were complaining that people who were doing cornhole tournaments were bringing outside food and instead of reassessing their situation and what they're serving, they threatened to cancel the cornhole. If you served better food, people would buy it. It's not rocket science. Yours is 5/10 and there's other options out there that are cheaper and better than what you're currently offering. You don't take away the cornhole from people who are giving you any bit of business, you make it better for them.. so they want to buy it and they want to spend money and they want to eat your food. *since my teens aren't old enough to drink, there really isn't much to offer there in the way of food so we won't be coming back because there's no reason to.

A small fridge of cheeses, charcuterie, hummus, and veg allow you to make your own nosh board. BBV provides plates, napkins and utensils if you buy their snacks. Or you may opt to order 10" pizzas from the piemakers-in-residence. (Pro tip: order your pizza Before you get your wine and snacks. Pizzas are made to order and take at least 25-40 mins if there is a good crowd there). Bring your own blanket, totes chairs, and even cooler full of food if you wish, but order your wine at the register inside. Laid-back vibe, plenty of grassy picnic areas, several patio tables and metal chairs and a few picnic tables, clean unisex restrooms, and a few souvenirs in the gift shop. Industrial chic interior warehouse atmo. Take it easy on the dusty gravel access road to the venue. And mind the sheep! All in all, a charming sip, sit, and snack on a lovely day. Cheers!
