The venue is cute, the little pond with fountain is cute and there's chairs to sit and relax. I brought some family who were visiting from Puerto Rico and they seemed to enjoy the place. However, we went at the end of September, and the place was horribly overrun with wasps. They're literally everywhere. It made it hard to sit and want to enjoy your drink. My drink was absolutely delicious I will say. The pumpkins were slim pickings which was a little disappointing and there were next to no flowers to pick either. It wasn't a bad visit, but I would probably try other places prior to suggesting coming back here. read more

Finally it was a sunny day in New England and what better place to be than outside at this lovely establishment. We did not partake in the apple or sunflower picking but certainly will return in the near future. The grounds are so relaxing. We went to the distillery where we chose flights that included wine, bourbons, and moonshine. Then we had a few specialty drinks after our flights. I recommend a flight first then you can decide what spirit you liked and choose a mixed drink that has that spirit. They had two food trucks. We had some tacos which were pretty good not great. The store inside is amazing selling all their products plus soaps, candles, and home decor. My husband is not a winery fan and he had an amazing time. We may even go back again this week. The area is full of things to do such as Sturbridge village. This place is definitely worth the 2+ hour drive it to us to get there. read more

Had a really nice time here with my family. I like that they have food vendors come out and offer snacks and things to eat cause one can come out pretty hungry after all the climbing and apple picking. Well, during my visit it was apples that were in season but apparently you can pick different things depending on the time of year. They also had pick your own pumpkins. Also took advantage of their freshly made booze to take back home and share with friends. The gift shop also has a lot of neat hand made items, and the overall place is super cozy and just beautiful. Echo Hill Orchards and Winery & Distillery was a great experience! They have some great drinks. My fiancé not a big wine person, so wasn't the biggest fan of some of the wines, though I liked a good amount of the wines. The mixed drinks we both thought were amazing! The ambience was great, they had a nice food truck there and many places to sit down and relax. I would definitely recommend taking a trip as a couple, group of friends or family's. Nice size orchard with a decent variety of apples to pick, apples on the small side (drought related I'm sure). After apple picking, we checked out the shop and tasting room. Hubs and I each ordered a flight (5 choices for $10) and according to covid rules (what?!) you had to order a food item (precut cheese/pepperoni/crackers was $6). Ordering was easy online! The good--hard cider "moonshine" (approx 20%).... the bad-- all the wines we tasted. The "moonshine" tasted like candy it was so sweet! I would buy a bottle of that (apple pie and pumpkin pie were our choices). Would return for "moonshine" but not for wine.... and would prefer picking at another orchard read more

Recently came here and was extremely pleased with everything! Originally just came to pick some apples but ended up spending most of my time admiring the beautiful sunflowers! Oh my goodness. We absolutely loved this spot. Stumbled upon Echo Hill on a lovely Sunday afternoon and stopped in for some cocktails. I don't want to be too harsh because this place has a lot of great qualities-- however my biggest complaint is that this is the worst wine me and my 5 friends have ever had. If this place was only marketed as a orchard and distillery then I'd give it a solid 4 stars. Overall headline is this is a fun place to come and sit with friends to share some donuts and drinks in the fall. But I wouldn't have any high expectations and honestly I'd recommend just finding a better spot. The picking was a little chaotic--They have no signage for what trees have which apples. No signs for where to go. They have beautiful sunflower fields, but they don't seem to have any system for people to harvest the flowers. There are no paths so you're forced to trample through the fields or cut the few left on the perimeter. The farm store is super cute...The one thing I'd recommend is their apple cider donuts are great!! But their cider isn't from their farm which was disappointing. The grounds are fun and beautiful! Lots of places to sit, very charming set up, and two food trucks on the day we went. They have a big sign of amazing and fun mixed drinks and a great place to sit and enjoy them. The winery....this is where things get dicey. My five friends and I are not picky. We are in our late 20s and have almost never met a wine we didn't like. We've done tons of tastings and this was the first one where NO ONE finished ANY of their 5 wines they selected. We could not even finish a TASTE of this wine. It is so unbelievably sweet, tastes like fake flavorings, and has no resemblance to wine whatsoever. We all agreed they would probably be good in a mixed drink. read more

What a great harvest this year! My family has been coming to this orchard for years now. Last years crop wasn't great, but this years apples were awesome! They charge a fair price for pick your own apples. They've got tractor rides up to the upper orchards which have a few different types of apples and pears. You can't beat the store inside either! Homemade apple cider donuts are amazing! They're so delicious and usually gone by the time we get home lol. We'll definitely be back soon! read more

The lady working the pick your own apples was sweet and helpful. Apples were picked over but that's on us for going later in the season. Giving them 2 stars mainly because of their winery policies. They only seat you outside if you have a "condition" that prohibits you from sitting indoors. Nice in theory so that high risk individuals get the outside tables but at the time, only 1 of the 10+ tables was taken. Our party did not feel comfortable drinking inside (one lives with a person who works at a nursing home and another has close contact with grandparents). When we asked politely again, they rudely told us that no medical condition = no sitting outside. Now that I'm reading other reviews mention their lack of social distancing policies, this now adds up. Pretty sad given how much space outdoors they have. read more

It was incredibly windy in the outside patio and our entire wine flight blew over (a patio umbrella blew over as well) and when we asked to replace the wine we were told "there's no refunds." Huh? Such a bummer, we paid for wine that we didn't even drink. At least have a sign warning people. Sit inside, even if there appears to be no wind, or you'll be out a drink and a plastic cup. read more

I went to echo hill today with my friend and our 4 children. We bought 3 bags to pick apples. It was a very long walk and once we got there there were no apples on any trees for as long as we could see. We walked around for a half an hour looking for apples and found none. The only ones we found were rotten. When we went down with our empty bags to ask for our money back, a man very rudely told us they don't refunds and that there are plenty of apples. He ended up giving us some already picked apples and most of those were rotten and not edible. This place is a little hidden gem. Their wine tasting is $10 for 5 samples, and you get to pick from everything they have to offer. Their menu had the wines separated from dry and sweet which was helpful. Lots of their wines were infused from apples, which makes sense as they are using the products local to them for the most part, and gives standard wines a unique spin (Merlot with apples! Was actually good!) They had a gift shop with lots of cute products as well. Wish they had indoor bathrooms but I understand that they are a farm. The grounds are beautiful, but be ready to wait in an enormous line if you want to do anything here. The place was packed from the minute they opened. We waited for 1.5 hours to get a table outside to have some wine. Ordered 4 different kinds...half of them made us gag upon tasting. We also ordered the "cheese platter" which was what tasted like cheese whiz put into a mold and we could not figure out what the pepperoni was made out of but it was also gross and we did not eat it. My boyfriend and I came here for a wine tasting today, and we had so much fun! For $10, you can sample five different wines, and you also receive a bit of popcorn and a couple packages of oyster crackers. For that price you also get to take home your glass! We ended up each getting a different set of five wines so that we sampled ten total, for only $20. It was a great deal as far as I'm concerned. We genuinely didn't dislike a single one! Like another reviewer said, they are mostly (if not all) infused with apples and are quite sweet, so that may not suit all palates, but we really liked them. We actually ended up buying two bottles; we usually limit ourselves to one at a tasting, but we just couldn't decide between two great ones. The atmosphere was very rustic and so quaint. They had a TV playing country music videos, which was a cute touch. Tables for tasting outside, as well as plenty of space inside. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. We also bought some cider donuts, which was a complete surprise given that it's June and we only expect to see them at Echo Hill in the fall. It was just a great date for a summery afternoon. This is a family run business that pours their heart and soul into their work. My wife loves the gift shop / store attached to the orchard. Taking a tractor ride up the hill with the family is always fun. I just love the location. Although the late frost hit them hard their are still some great apples on the tree. This was a cute orchard however most of the apples were picked over at this point I know it's a little late in the season. We did not get to try the winery so I may return to try some of their wines. Just FYI they have a small store where you can buy cider donuts etc. and that was extremely packed when I tried to go in. I would say there was over 75 people in the store and there was no social distancing. They did ask that you wear a mask when you were in the store and picking in the orchard I'm surprised they did not have someone to count the amount of people in the store as I felt it was not safe to enter. read more

I like the way it works; you just buy a bag at the checkin gate and can either ride the tractor (on weekends) to the orchard (we were there for apple picking) or walk. It's on rustic wooden benches rather than hay, so no itching, yay. Reasonable selection of apples, and they're either labeled as to variety or color-tagged and the tractor driver explains. Beautiful views of the nearby mountains, and an awesome sunflower patch which is also pick-your-own and you can pay for that on the way out. There are also pick-your-own pumpkins and melons, depending on the season. They didn't seem to be making cider donuts hot on-site, but they were still good and there are tables inside and outside to munch on those, and they also have cider from a different orchard. Pretty kid-friendly (there were many running around) though it wasn't a circus of attractions like some of the orchards are. Lots of gift shop items, though I could do without all the Christian stuff. Pick-your-own prices are considerably lower than similar orchards closer to Worcester. Bathrooms are port-a-potties which is not all that nice, but seems to be typical for pick-your-own orchards in the state. Lots of wines and other alcohols available for sale, and wine tastings in a big indoor area with tables you can sit at with friends. read more

Went here to go apple picking with my niece and nephew. Took a long time because the majority of the apples were rotten. When we finished we got hot dogs and donuts, which were pretty good. Once they left, my wife and I wanted to try the wine. The line to get into the wine tasting area was quite long, but we waited to get a table to try some: I have to say it was some of the worse wine I have had at any winery. Stopped in for a nice fall afternoon of apple picking. Place was packed! Beautiful setting. Nice hayride to orchard...lots of huge apples. Still some nice pumpkins in the patch for picking. Finished off with some tasty sugar coated cider donuts and a couple of jugs of moonshine. The apple moonshine was really enjoyable...warmed us up when the evening got cooler. For years I have gone to Echo hill every season with family. This year the farm is for sale, but still open for business, never a good sign...On 9/24/16 we made our annual trip. This year was truly a disappointment! We were convinced to get a "large" bag of apples as there were more that two people in our party, even though the child was the only one picking. So we paid $25! for the bag. Generally when the tram ride stops the driver says cortlands this way, macs this way and gives us some direction...this year the driver never got up just chatted with some high school girls. Also we paid a "cover price" to ride the tram. The bag we picked was HUGE, when I got home I began cutting up the apples to make apple sauce and pies...I would say 95% of the apples, had rot, worms or were brown and spotted inside. I was extremely disappointed and upset, what a waste of money. I called and complained and was asked if I picked the ones that were on the ground...SIGH! Also advertised "our own apple cider" the cider is in fact NOT made there but made in CT. Doughnuts had a different flavor than in years past, wine that is made there had a low alcohol content...but same price, no inside restrooms...Hope that farm sells and the new owners are able to sort all these things out.
