GET THAT SUMMER PEACH! My husband and I love visiting this winery each year - especially for their sweeter wines. We always grab a flight, and set up a picnic blanket on the hill. They have seating - but it's not the most comfortable, especially if you have kids. We have a toddler, and we didn't want them picking up the gravel rocks, so we choose the grass. We've grabbed food at a few of their visiting food trucks, too. We found them more expensive than the ones in RI, but very good. read more

Visited Taylor Brooke Winery Saturday. The winery is actually closed and they divert you to the brewery. The downside is I don't think the brewery is as pretty. There's plenty of outdoor seating and you can always tag pop-up chairs. There was music playing and it felt very festive. I had a glass of the Roseland read. It was a little sweet and fruity tasting just the way I like it. They also require you to buy a charcuterie board which came with cheese meat and olives. It was a nice addition to the wine. I don't drink white but my friend had the Cayuga white and liked it. I will definitely hit this establishment again once the passport is open! read more

I was introducing my friend to the CT Wine Trail Passport program and gave him some options but told him if we went to Taylor Brooke it would probably be a one winery day. He chose Taylor Brooke because they have Brandy and boy were we glad that he did. The drive is beautiful and the winery is perched on a hill and beautiful property. The day was damp and cold yesterday but the winery wasn't overcrowded inside and we were able to linger and calmly enjoy a wine tasting. Staff is warm and genuine. The wine dogs make you feel like you are visiting family. They are very hospitable and generous at Taylor Brooke. You may even sample 2 wines for free, or 4 for $5, or $10 for $10, We chose to go for the 10 which allowed us to almost sample their complete selection. If you love sweeter fruity wines like us then this is your place. We loved their selections. Their dessert ports knocked our socks off, namely the Chocolate Essence 18% alcohol and Raspberry Rendezvous 19% alcohol. We ended our wine tasting in the covered pavilion where you are allowed to bring your own picnic. We enjoyed our with a glass of their Green Apple Riesling. I'm not a Riesling fan but I am now. It was the best Riesling I've personally ever had. It's a little out of the way but well worth the drive. read more

This winery is a bit out of the day, and in cold, icy seasons I imagine an adventure to get up the driveway. The tasting room is bright and open, and in October decorated festivally for Halloween. They also (reportedly, because I didn't actually go looking for it) have a brewery, so the trip could be a good 2-for-1. There is also a wine dog on the property! read more

We stopped in here on a fairly busy Saturday afternoon. The property is scenic, the tasting room is charming and the staff we encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. They have a very large portfolio of wine for you to try. You can try 2 for free, 5 for $6 or 10 for $11. My husband and I each tried 5. Unfortunately we were not fans of the wines as a whole. We did like the Sparkling rose and bought a bottle, but really did not enjoy any of the others we tried. Wine is so subjective though. Don't let our opinions sway you from visiting. There are picnic tables and a small covered area with tables where you can have a glass or bottle and relax. There was also a food truck the day we were there. They have a nice setup. read more

VERY NON DOG FRIENDLY! Dozen signs each way when you arrive saying to come in. Visit. Not one that says no dogs. My two small dogs were viciously attacked by a non leashed dog when we entered the winery. They said "support pets only. Again, no leash, place had customers. Demanded I leave. Taylor Brooke Winery is a lovely place to visit. Nikki the winemaker is an incredibly kind and gracious host. You can tell she truly puts her heart and soul into her wines. Personally the Wine Dog Cayuga and Summer Peach Wine are my favorites. Both are tasty, flavorful, and refreshing. Taylor Brooke Winery has an amazing selection of wines - well worth the trip to the scenic northeast corner! Their specialties include fruit-infused Rieslings, including their best selling Green Apple Riesling and their seasonal Summer Peach. The Woodstock Hill White this year (2010) is their best blend yet, and is perfect for those who enjoy a dry Chardonnay. For reds, all three varieties are wonderful - from the lighter Cab Franc to the deeper, richer Woodstock Valley Red that stands up to any Cabernet Savignon (and a few Zins!). But save room for dessert! The Late Harvest Riesling this year is AMAZING - it has a light, honeyed, round flavor that dances on the tongue but doesn't overstay its welcome. What an excellent stop! We've never been to this winery and never heard much about it but after having such a fun time, we'll tell all our friends about it. From the get-go, the staff was friendly and inviting, making us feel right at home. Everything was very casual--very reasonably priced tasting options, with a total of 12 wines to try. We bellied up to the bar and settled in to try 8 wines. Jess was pouring our samples and she had great tips for each wine we had (adding fruit to it, meal pairings and ways to bring out the flavors of the wines). It was good quality wine, with many of the fruit enhanced wines feeling perfect on a summer day--Green Apple Riesling, Summer Peach and Sunny Sangria were some of our favorites. Warm welcome Lively staff Intriguing wines My wife had been to Taylor Brooke previously when she and I decided to stop by, and she was excited and hopeful as we approached that she'd be able to repeat the fun time she'd experienced before. We pulled into the lot (after ascending a dramatic little switchback hill of a driveway), and headed in. The place was an open, welcoming, boisterous space full of people enjoying themselves, so we joined right in. We were matched with Barry, a high-energy, friendly, knowledgable guide through the wines on offer. We sampled all of the wines available, from whites to reds to dessert, and Barry's exemplary explanations legitimately enhanced the experience...he really hit on where and when each wine would activate the palate, and his context on the science of the process was also evident. My wife and I also appreciated the suggested food pairings listed on the wine menu. As we finished the main slate of wines, we were treated to a sample of a new sangria that the owner was kind enough to share; also enjoyable, and a nice upgrade over the one we'd had...nice to see the winery read and react to customer sentiment. In the end, we really enjoyed our tasting and the company, and we took several bottles to go, each of which we've enjoyed. Next time, I'd spend more time in the veranda area and take more of a look around the grounds, which looked nice. Lovely vineyard although under construction. Nice tasting room with plenty of room to taste with no waiting. Pleasant staff and wonderful wines. Nice gift shop. Very reasonably priced. My family and I had a very pleasant wine tasting experience here this past Mother's Day 2018. Our mom knew she wanted to go to a winery, but finding the right one, and a location convenient for everyone was tough, we found Taylor Brooke Winery and we couldn't have been happier. My fiancé and I arrived a little late to the party but we were still able to participate in the wine tasting with our family. We had our own personal wine steward pouring us our wine and she was very lovely. They had a large variety of wine selections available for being such a small winery. We tried all 10 they had available at the time, and enjoyed almost all of them. I am not partial towards all dry red wines but I could drink these ones just fine. In the end my fiancé and I purchased 4 bottles of wine, two of which were their Green Apple Riesling because it was absolutely delicious, one of their Summer Peach and finally for desert, their Chocolate Essence. My other 12+ family members also purchased many bottles of wine for themselves. We all had such a pleasant experience here and the quality of their wine is very good, with yummy, exciting flavors you cannot find in many liquor stores. We had a great wine tasting at Taylor Brooke. They had sold out of a handful of wines-- we were there on the very last day of the season-- and the owner was nice enough to provide a small discount on the tasting as a result. So, we tasted ten wines for $5. The tasting room was nice, bright and comfortable, and the owner was very friendly and provided a lot of great information on their wines. She mentioned that they make every attempt to keep their operation local, by using grapes grown at the vineyard and purchased nearby, and even hiring local artists to design their labels. It's nice to see Connecticut vineyards working with what they have to produce a great result, and not outsourcing everything to other regions. Taylor Brooke produces a number of fruit-flavored whites, and there really wasn't a miss in the bunch. (We learned that the fruit essences that they add to the wine is also produced locally.) What's better is they're all very reasonably priced. I generally prefer reds, but we went home with a bottle of Green Apple Riesling and Winter Pomegranate (also a riesling) because they were too good to pass up. The dessert wines also stood out, and the Chocolate Essence and Raspberry Rendezvous were some of the best I've tried. I'd highly recommend a visit to Taylor Brooke, even if you have to drive a bit to get there. We're looking forward to going back in the spring to try some of the wine they were sold out of on our visit. read more

So, I think I have a new favorite! My friends and I had a great time at Taylor Brooke on a Sunday afternoon, thanks in part to our wonderful host Barry. He is a riot, but also really knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. He and the other staff did a fantastic job of making us feel right at home, and it was clear that they all really enjoy their jobs. The vibe is really friendly and laid back, without any pretentiousness. We had the option of tasting 8 for $5 or all 12 for $8. Great value, especially considering that we enjoyed most if not all of the wines. I've been to wineries in CT that charge $10 for 4 tastes, none of which pleased my palette, so this was pretty great. The bottles are also very reasonable, and only the fancier dessert wines were in the $20 and up category. The wines are mainly on the fruity side, but with so many options, there's bound to be something for everyone. We shared a bottle of Traminette outside, took a walk through the vineyard, and met some nice locals that are "regulars" at the winery. Oh! Another nice thing- we had forgotten to bring a cutting board and knife for cheese we brought along, and they provided us with one. Their raspberry and chocolate dessert wines came home with us, which blended together are totally outrageous. This may seem like a silly detail, but I really liked how all the staff wear name tags. I really like to know the names of people who are helping me, and I often forget to ask. Taylor Brooke is a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth the drive. read more

Taylor Brook Vineyard is pretty tasty. I love their fruit infused wines, all made from concentrate but only a few drops gives it such a nice aroma and taste. With summer around the corner, I highly recommend picking up bottles of their Summer Peach. Its soo good and a really nice taste of peach without it being too sweet. The staff here is awesome and their dog, Zima is adorable. She greets you when you walk in. You can taste all 11 wines for a bargain price of $6! If you are not in the mood to sample all, you are offered 2 complimentary tasting or can pay for just 5 tastings. If you want to keep the glass, its extra since most people who visit may be travelling and don't want it. Its nice to have that option. They have some dessert wines, chocolate essence, a raspberry rendezvous which are simply fabulous. The alcohol content is pretty high, so these are a pretty good sipping wine after a nice meal. All of their wines are worth trying. You can also adopt a vine and this entitles you to a bottle of wine for he next three years. This allows you to learn more about the harvesting process and a pretty cool experience if you can do this. read more

Good bargain on the tasting here. We both tried 12 wines (+ 1 bonus) for $6 each. The usually complimentary logo glass is extra here. But we always wonder what to do with the second glass, so having to pay a small fee to take one was actually a welcome change for us. The rose and the raspberry dessert wines were the two that stood out the most for us. Both had unique and summery flavors. While our general rule is to only buy one bottle of wine at a tasting, we ended up getting both. The tasting room was a bit small. It was full and quite loud when we were there, but we've found this to be the case most of the time at CT weekend tastings. There is a separate seating room, some tables and chairs out front and more along the back side of the winery next to the grapes. read more

This place is beautiful. I enjoyed tasting the wines. Nothing I didn't like. It's a great deal. 2 for free, 5 for $5 or 10 for $10. The samples are somewhat small so if you usually go with a partner and share I would advise against that. After we tasted we bought our favorite bottle, Lazy Day Red and drank it out by the vineyard. When we left this winery we repeatedly said, "wow, that was top notch!" And it was. Although this winery is off the beaten path and took a while for us to get there, it was totally worth it. We were welcomed inside and didn't have to wait for a tasting at all. Henry, I think the owner, waited on us and was very knowledgeable and friendly. We tasted all 12 wines for $7, which was a great deal, and cheaper than tastings at other vineyards. We were able to take our time, and Henry explained each wine and offered suggestions for food pairings. The wines were all very good, our favorite being the summer peach. We left with multiple bottles, and will definitely be going back at some point! You could really tell that this was a place that everyone really enjoyed working at and that they all took pride in their winery. Very enjoyable experience! I RARELY give 5 star reviews, but when I do...I mean it! Can I say how personable the staff is? They make you feel like you are right at home. It is not conveyor belt treatment as some wineries can typically be like. Every wine we tasted was explained in detail and we tried it with either a piece of chocolate, cracker, or cheese. Love LOVe this winery. One of my favorite Connecticut winery. The wines this year were all delicious and their staff are just wonderful! Lots of different wines to chose from-whites, reds, roses and dessert wines. They even have one wine that donates a $1 to an animal foundation on behalf of their recently departed pup. The only downfall was the crazy steep driveway that may be scary and is one way. The location is beautiful and has outdoor patio seating and indoor seating. Wine tastings available for very cheap! Been here before for wines and just tried the brewery side. Scenic spot for sure and a great staff. I do think the beers are a little one dimensional. All appeared unfiltered and the all the beer is malt heavy. As served a New England IPA is less hoppy than a session pale ale. And it's served honestly because the session pale ale was the most palatable. The IPA.... was a hopped up Sam Adams lager. If you like stouts theirs is okay, any other style of beer get a pint of the session pale ale and move onto the next place. read more

Was a nice winery and also had a brewery. People were pleasant. Wine wasn't the best but we enjoyed the beer.

We were traveling in the area and found this place. We decided to try some sample tasting. The person behind the counter was very knowledgeable on the wines. While we liked some of the whites and a rose, we did not care for any of the reds. I like reds normally but not here. We did buy 3 bottles of white. My one complaint was the small amount of ounces for the sampling tasting. I have gone to a few winery tastings and this was barely more than a mouthful. One thing to look forward to is the micro brewery they are opening soon. I would rate 3.5 stars based on the tasting experience. Overall, I would give this place a try. read more

Taylor Brooke was our favorite winery of the day! What a great experience! The owner and his friends were so nice and funny. It was very affordable and you got to try a number of different wines! I didn't like all of them, but the ones I did like were very good. One of the owners friends was pouring wine and he chatted up our group and entertained the whole place! (Of course he did tell me I look like Kelly Clarkson :( ... not sure how I feel about that) It was friendly and fun, almost like you were drinking wine at a friend's house.. .not a business. To quote the owner's friend (I wish I remember his name) "I don't understand why people come in here and don't smile. You are drinking wine, this isn't a rectal exam." It was a great experience! We bought a couple of bottles and spent an hour or so eating snacks outside overlooking the vineyard. My favorite wine was a white blend named after their family dog. A dollar of your purchase is donated to the Worcester animal shelter. so you don't have to feel guilty about drinking a whole bottle (or two) Side note.. the driveway is intense! If you are coming in a large vehicle.. make sure you know how to navigate steep curves. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to this vineyard. As so as we entered we were greeted by Addison the vineyard dog. For dog friendly people this is great. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the product and process. We did our tasting with Barry and he was awesome. He kept our attention and answered all our questions. His personality made us very comfortable and gave us an at home feeling. The overall feel is very casual, warm and inviting. You an truly feel relaxed while doing or tasting or enjoying a glass of wine here. Their wines are fantastic. To us they are mostly sweet wines. They did consider one of their wines to be on the drier side. We did not find this. The Rieslings are perfect. A large mount of their wines are Connecticut grown which is great when you are drinking local. Their dessert wines are perfect. They don't have the heavy syrup mouth feel that a lot have and also don't have a vapor to them. Wether you are drinking their red, white or dessert wine you cannot go wrong. We did purchase a half case here. Even though the drive is over an hour for us to get here we don't mind making it for the experience we know we will have. read more

If there was a 0 for stars then it would have been selected, especially after the experience today ! I have not once been to a wine tasting so this was the first, as with a few others in the group of 13 we had. To start we were approached with two woman that had no smiles nor did they make us feel welcome. We were not in a proper setting to all hear about the wine we were tasting and we were also rushed. When asked about more tasting we were told they could not provide. We offered to pay more to try another wine and was instantly told the owner would be asked to see us. We had a reservation for 13 in the pavilion area (!50 deposit). We went into the pavilion area and there were tables that sat 4 or 8. We took a table and added next to the others so we could accommodate everyone and sit together. We all brought appetizers and spent well over $500 in additional wine to go and within a half hour the owner came in and told us we were not allowed to put tables together nor were we following policy. Mind you, there were only two other people in there that were interacting with our party and having a great time. The owner (Linda) was extremely rude and spoke to our group with the utmost disrespect they we all felt unwelcome and left. Our day was instantly inconvenienced and we brought our group elsewhere. I do not recommend this winery to anyone. The atmosphere is not inviting nor is the staff. If you are looking for a place to go and have fun as a group then this is NOT the place ! In addition, their website prices are not honored and they will not accommodate anyone ! read more

I was so disappointed with our afternoon at this Winery. The small outdoor patio area was reserved for my daughter's bridal shower, there were only 11 of us; a quiet, reserved group of women. All arrangements and details had been confirmed ahead of time. We were told we could bring in food and could spend the afternoon. Our time there started when we were loudly scolded for moving a small table, then instructed we must remove 5 balloons from the venue and take them to our car so it didn't look like an "event." There apparently was a lack of communication with the owner and staff over our reservations. That miscommunication should have been handled privately with the staff and not made us to feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. It was disturbing to be spoken to in such an unpleasant manner in front of other patrons. We then proceeded to our scheduled wine tasting. 3 had never been to a tasting before and there were no explanations given on how a tasting is done. The two young staff appeared annoyed the entire time, did not rinse the glasses between and did not offer small talk or make any of us feel welcome in any way. One guest was never offered any wine at all. She was waiting patiently but was completely overlooked. I needed to point out to the staff she had not been tended to. I have never been treated in such a poor manner at any establishment, especially a small business of this size and nature. I was prepared to spend a great deal of money to purchase a bottle for each of our guests as well as gifts for the bridal party. After the treatment we received, I would not purchase one thing. It's so sad my daughter's bridal shower had such a damper put on it. Thankfully our group was just so filled with love and happiness for our time together, that is what made the day for us. I would not recommend visiting this establishment for a special event with a small group. read more

This place is our favorite weekend spot! The winery features some of the most delicious, enjoyable wines I've ever tasted. Our favorites are the Sparkling Rosé, Summer Peach, and the Chocolate Essence dessert wine. And the wine slushies they have in the summer are so refreshing!! There's nothing better than a slushie on a hot day, sitting in an adirondack chair overlooking the vineyard. And the family that owns it is so nice too!
