This company is a rip off. I thought I was saving a few bucks going from ADT to Brinks. You have to sign a three year contract, okay, but when your equipment fails after 8 months they inform you it will cost $270.00 to come out and fix or replace. Oh, you have another option for $8.99 extra locked into a year contract and a $75.00 service fee or your third option is to have one mailed to you for $30.00 and do it yourself. They certainly didn't tell me this when I signed up and how is faulty equipment less than a year old my fault? They should be replacing it at no cost. I'm going to see what it takes to get out of this contract and go back to ADT. Very unsatisfied customer. read more

Brinks installed our system for us. The technician who installed had very little time to go over how to use the security system for me. He didn't bother to help me step by step!! I'm not technically savvy! He was rude and left. Then, the security equipment did not work for months! We called numerous times to have a technician come out to fix the problem! The technician's never came back and we were still charged, $76.75 a month!! I finally, called Brinks to cancel the service. The representative was really rude. I was told it would be $277.50 to cancel because we apparently, didn't meet their agreement. Yesterday, I got a letter from Brinks saying I owed them $2777.50 to cancel!!! They are not a security agency. My camera went out hasn't been working for months. I call for a technician never to repair the camera. They told he'll be here between 10 and 11. I called to complain the technician never showed up. They told me that he'll be there between 3 and 4. Very very bad service now we regret for agreeing to a contract. I have brinks home security for my home. I am disappointed! The sales department is great however, once your a customer beware of there terrible technical support appointments. My security panel has been malfunctioning for the past three months and it's nearly impossible schedule an appointment for them to come out to repair the issue also, They scheduled me three separate appointments and flaked on me three times and they sent me a text to call them to reschedule!! Very Bad business. Trying to get a hold of a manager in technical support is near impossible. I've left messages for managers to call me back at least four times, and no one ever called me back. One of thier sales representatives drove in behind a tenant and began going door to door trying to sell cameras etc.I was notified and went over to ask him to leave. We have a NO SOLICITING policy and a clear sign stating PRIVATE PROPERTY.He got agitated but finally left after telling a concerned neighbor to F----OFF! If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They NEVER answer the phones and even if you call during their official business hours, you will get a message saying they are closed--that's if you're lucky. If you're unlucky you will wait in a cue that can run easily over an hour, only to connect with a totally inept representative who, if they do not drop your call, will definitely never solve your problem. I cancelled my service via Docusign with them in early March and they are still charging my credit card. I had to have my credit card company block them. They don't answer the phone you can't give a live agent on the line and when you do they do not understand what you're saying. They were repeat themselves over and over again. Brink's Home Security Systems I was a Protect America Alarm customer service until they sold out to Brinks Home Security Systems. To begin, wireless alarm systems have come very far where they are very easy to set up and use. The progress in developing today's equipment is vastly improved over yesterdays. Therefore, basically, it gets down to who provides the best service. I am a fairly savvy and advocate over the systems available today, in fact, I believe most home/apartment dwellers should use one for safety and security. I wanted to make some simple changes to my alarm system and I contacted the Brinks support line. I called 4 times and 3 of those times, the connection was either so poor or the customer service representative was difficult to understand. On the 4th call, I finally got a decent connection with someone I could halfway understand. I should also note that while I gave the first three representatives my call back number in case we were disconnected, none of them called me back. After finally making contact, I spoke with a representative who was obviously ill-prepared or untrained and was unable to help me. A few days later, I called again and again my call was dropped and without a return call. On the second call that day, I got someone who I could understand. By this time, I had obtained a manual of my alarm panel which Brinks was unable to help with, and had already figured out how to make the changes myself and really didn't need Brink's assistance. The purpose of my call was two-fold which was to ask them to update the zone information on my online file which is not a function the user can perform. And to share my previous experience and dissatisfaction with the company's customer support. I was amazed to find that it was clear that the representative did not have information on my file that she should have had to adequately help me. Moreover, she could have been more helpful in conveying that information. I should also mention that Brinks offers a "chat line" however, this does not connect you with a live person, rather a "virtual assistant" which is very limited in any kind of support that is offered. The bottom line here is that I am being charged $39 per month for a connection to a monitoring service and Brinks is getting paid for the monitoring. If you are happy with that, sign up for Brinks. However, if you would like more than i.e., the customer support that can be more helpful when making changes to your system, find a local company that has been in business with a solid reputation. A company that can provide online access to your system and offers over the telephone support as well as a "my alarm company" interactive site. I believe that because of these online alarm services, one does have some leverage to negotiate a discounted or special monthly rate. Other than that, there is one online company out there that is rated #1 that commands most of the alarm business. I have no experience with them, yet, they come highly recommended. read more

I cannot stress enough what a HORRIBLE company this is!! I had AT&T security and signed up with Brinks. Every time I call and have to wait a minimum of 25 minutes. Then the rep I speak to cannot help me so I am transferred to technical support and the same issue, I have to repeat myself to every agent I speak with. I have been on the phone now for over an hour and have gotten nowhere with them just to have my door lock replaced that I have had for many years from AT&T. Oh my god. I just transferred from digital life to brinks home security. First I had to pay an additional $500 to make sure that I had a second panel as well as the siren that I had with AT&T. It took three weeks for them to come out. The install tech was nice but but he tells me that the second panel that I paid for I really wasn't a panel but that playing keypad that doesn't even have an alarm in it. He tells me I have to call the office to see what they will do about it. Then I checked the devices after he left and important devices like smoke detectors carbon monoxide detectors motion sensors are all off-line. I called their support And sat on hold for almost an hour with the tech trying to figure out what was going on. Then he disconnects me and he never calls me back. Then I called back I'm on hold again for another hour and a half and they tell me the earliest they can come back out to fix the devices that are not communicating is five weeks out. Really?
