I liked the doctor being so thorough , however the service was exceptionally slow . It took three weeks to secure an appointment for the eye exam and another three weeks to get the product (contact lenses) . It did not seem that busy or that they were over loaded . read more

The front desk woman was absolutely awful. She refused my request to speak with management, probably because she knew I was about to file a complaint about her. I called to set up an appointment, and she didn't even bother to verify my information before telling me that my insurance was no longer accepted, even though I've been a patient here for almost ten years. I was completely baffled when she then suggested I seek other providers. I was very upset and requested a call back from Dr. Brinley. On top of that, the language barrier made it difficult to understand her. Ten minutes later, she called back and it was clear she had been looking at the wrong account and speaking to the wrong person, though she never admitted to her mistake. Only then did she finally confirm my name and date of birth, something she should have done in the first place. Now, I'm seriously considering finding a different office. I've been going to Brinley and Morad for a couple of years. They have a great selection of frames, the staff is always friendly and they have free parking. I should have written a review last year but this year I definitely have to because they went above and beyond, My lenses were scratched. I called them to get an appointment to inquire about replacement, and they said that they would replace them for free. I did not need to go in! They placed the order and within a couple of days, my lenses arrived. I went in, no appointment needed, and they replaced them at no charge and in less than 15 minutes!!! incredible service, and a very merry Christmas to me!!!! Thank you very much!!! read more

I was reminded it make an appointment in December 2022 and so I called on January 9th 2023 to schedule an appointment. No one answer since they were closed so I was asked to leave a message and I did on January 9th 2023 requesting a call back for my appointment. Never got a call back at all and so I got a reminder again and so I tried calling today February 21, 2023 to to only be told that they have an availability for April 4, 2023. I asked why they never called me back from my last message I left in January and all she said was oh I don't know and just "sorry for the inconvenience" but that now changes how long I have to wait for an appointment because they never got back to me. As someone that schedules things and plans things in advance, sucks that because of someone that just says "sorry for the inconvenience" makes it feel they never cared and made a mistake that can be fixed but never tried. I wish this would be any different but just ruined my experience and I wish them luck. Off to find another optometrist that cares for their clients/customers because I feel like the customer retention doesn't matter to them. read more

Never again!! I been coming here for a few years. A little pricey but Doctors are really nice. As far as staff it's hit or miss. Older Asian lady at the front not too pleasant. I went in for lenses with my own frame. I asked if I can leave a deposit and pay the remaining $20 when I pick up my glasses. She told me no! That's is such BS! These were my own frames. So there I was, in a new city, when the time came for me to find an eye doctor because I was running out of contacts and wanting some new glasses. I've learned that the best way to find a new doc is to ask people around you (and then checking Yelp). I found myself having to ask my coworkers because I was new in town and didn't know a soul in this city of Long Beach. It seemed that Dr. Brinley was quite popular amongst my coworkers, and since we are in the healthcare field, I thought I would give him a try. They're also less than a minute walk from my home...a total score, especially after those dilation appointments. It was easy to make that first appointment. The staff is great, and Dr. Noah Brinley, O.D. is amazing! I have never been able to see as clearly and comfortably in contacts as I do now. I have worn prescription glasses the majority of my life, but I have never had luck in wearing contact lenses. He is consistently fitting me with the best contact lenses that I have ever worn. I started wearing contact lenses while living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The optometrists always I saw there always forced me to wear custom made sets of contacts costing over $300 "because I have astigmatism". Dr. Brinley fits me with contacts for around $100...well, because I do have astigmatism. I only know Dr. Brinley at this office, and I highly recommend. The office is located on the SW corner of Long Beach Blvd and 1st Street. They accept most major insurance plans such as VSP, Eyemed, Anthem, Cigna and United Healthcare. Their selection of designer and affordable eyewear has something for everyone. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they offer parking validation as well. Give them a try. read more

I have to say that the optometrist here is actually very good. I was going here for probably 2 years and even though there were issues, I kept coming back because of the optometrist. They don't give you a call to let you know your contact lenses have arrived in the office. The one time they actually gave me a call to let me know my contacts were ready, there weren't. I ALWAYS had to call to ask if my contacts came. So if you don't call, you won't get your lenses. Today, I had enough. I came in for an eye appt and the front desk told me my appt isn't until Sept 6. I go, no, it's today Aug 6. I showed her a text mssg with a confirmation of the date. They told me they can't see me anyway because I'm not eligible for a new exam and lenses until Sept. I clearly remember talking to someone on the phone confirming I'm ok to come in for August. I don't know who's in charge of the lenses and the appts but it's very disorganized. It's a shame because like I said I really liked my optometrist here, but my day was wasted, so not coming back anymore. read more

Don't waste your money at this business buying eye glasses. They offer no warranty or customer service for defective products. I've purchased multiple pairs of expensive eye glasses at this business. One of the pairs, Mont Blanc, the nose piece was defective and broke. I took them in for warranty and I was told too bad. I need to buy new glasses. Kiss my $600 goodbye. These glasses weren't dropped, stepped on, or miss treated in any way. These Mont blanc frames are overpriced garbage. Don't even bother wasting your money buying Mont blanc inferior eyewear, or from a business that does not stand behind the product they sell. read more

I recently moved to Long Beach and my optometrist back home just retired, hence I started to look for a new optometrist. I found this place close to my home and decided to give it a try. They are very accommodating with dates, they also send you reminders of the scheduled appointment. The day of my appointment, I arrived five minutes earlier to my appointment and they took me in right away. The staff in the front office was very nice, they answered all my questions and were very professional. I did not specify as to what doctor I wanted, so I was a little apprehensive about the actual visit itself. I saw Dr. Ly, and I was blown away by his professionalism, patience (I inquire lots), time and knowledge. All my questions were answered and I left feeling comfortable. Very helpful doctors and staff! I have gone multiple times for eye check ups and every time have had a wonderful experience. They are patient with your questions, and thoroughly explain what each piece of equipment does or what they are measuring. I came here for the first time after switching from my old optometrist (too far away). The staff were very friendly and Dr. Morad was very nice. I was in and out in about 45 minutes (no new frames for me). I was surprised and happy that Dr. Morad gave me the option to try out a contact for astigmatism for my left eye. Usually doctors just push the option to get the same prescription for both eyes because it's "easier for me." (Is it that hard to keep your left and right contacts separate?!) I needed to reorder my original pair of glasses I received from them because my original ones broke. I reordered them and have waited 2+ weeks and still haven't got them (that's not the issue I understand shipping times can take a while). My issue is that I have tried to call the office SO MANY TIMES and I am met with an automated voice that tells me the office is closed! Why post your hours if you don't stick to them!? Ohh I was also told that when they get shipped I'll be called to let me know when to expect them. I haven't gotten a call so either they weren't shipped or they were shipped and the office didn't care to call. So, point is I will not be returning here and possibly canceling my order. read more

They are so very friendly here. When you aren't blessed with 2020 it can be nerve wracking knowing you're going to take tests you'll be failing. The Dr's are very warm and reassuring the entire process. They explain everything clearly from what they are going to do to the results. Very sweet staff all the way around. I was referred to this location by two of my coworkers whom both have been going to this location for years and had all good things to say So I decided to schedule a appointment I called in on 2/3 around 1120 scheduled appointment for 2/21 at 9am I received a text message on 2/14 requesting me to confirm my appointment for 2/21 at 9am by replying back to text with "C" I do so and received follow up text thanking me for confirming my appointment Today 2/21 I arrived few minutes early receptionist asked for my name stated she did not have appointment for me today she asked for my date of birth I provided it she again told me she has no record of appointment for me today I showed her my confirmation text and asked how would I have received this text she replied she did not know and that the gentleman whos name was just called is the only 9am appointment The receptionist did offer to reschedule my appointment based on my availability due to work schedule the next appointment would be 3/21 a whole month later I kindly declined advised I will go else where and requested to have my parking validated This is totally unacceptable I dont know what happened how up until a week before my appointment you system had record of it an now today no record However this occurred fix it so that the next person will not have to experience the same thing I did and waste their time read more

Dr. Brinley is a great doctor, my whole family goes to him. He really takes the time to answer any questions and help the patient out as much as he can. He is personable and cares about his patients. During one of my eye exams we even discussed what antioxidants that I can include in my diet to help my eyesight. Dr. Morad is a great doctor as well. Luu helped me get my glasses fitted on 06/18/20. I went to LensCrafters to try and get them fitted because that's where I ordered my glasses online. LensCrafter spent over nearly 2 hours and they still couldn't fit my glasses to my face correctly. I went inside Brinley & Morad and Luu was able to help me and adjust my glasses in under 15 minutes!! I recommend coming here. Parking was really easy too! read more

I've been paying for optical insurance for 6 years now, but I thought I should finally take advantage of it. I prefer to support local businesses, so I reviewed the list of optometrist offices in Long Beach that accept my insurance. I came up with Brinley & Morad. I initially chose them for a few reasons: 1. They are within walking distance of my home. 2. They accept my insurance. 3. They take American Express - love my points! 4. They have more than one doctor so that it would be easier to get an appointment. I called this past Saturday and was given an appointment for Monday at 2pm. I arrived to a very nice office with a very friendly staff and clean waiting area. I had an appointment with Dr. Ballard who saw me promptly. He made it very easy to follow his instructions during the various eye exams. I felt that his questions and overall examination were appropriately thorough. He explained why he was checking my eyes for certain things and asked me questions about my eyes' history, as this was my first appointment in their office. I thought he did an excellent job and made all the very technical parts easy to understand. From there I had to get my new lenses for frames I already had. They did not try to sell me anything crazy and were very helpful in explaining all the charges. I was given the final say on all the details of my glasses and the costs involved. They didn't try to 'upsell' me on any special coatings but asked just the right questions to make sure I was getting the absolutely correct lenses. The girl who'd helped me even called me later just to double check on an aspect of my lenses for my sunglasses (wish I could remember her name - she was wonderful). Again, very thorough, polite, and professional. This office is kind of tucked away at the corner of Ocean Blvd. and Long Beach Blvd. so they might be easy to miss. I highly recommend them for their service, professionalism, and care. I will update my review once I get my new glasses back in 7-10 working days. read more

Little annoyed by this place today. This experience was much different from my last year experience. Thought it would be a convenient place to get my glasses and contact lens as I work nearby. Sounds simple enough, right? Usually I would see Dr. Ballard, but he was booked for the next couple weeks so I decided to just go with who could see me soonest (mistake). Well I go in on my lunch break, at my appointed time, check in, and sit in Dr. Brinley's exam chair. I'm sitting, waiting, scrolling my phone, waiting, waiting... 25 minutes roll around and I'm done scrolling -- I've finished the internet! Dr. still didn't tend to me, I even made eye contact with him while sitting in his office on his exam chair! Needless to say I got up and left. I don't think I'll be taking my business back. I'll update if they bill my insurance for keeping the exam chair warm. I used to refer people to this place because of how thorough of a job Dr. Ballard provides (hence the 2 stars) but maybe I'll keep my reservations to myself from now on. Someone dropped the ball. Great experience! Dr. Ballard did a thorough and painless job administering my eye exam and tests. He even put contacts on me and I didn't even realize it at first, thought it was just another test. He's good, probably would have taken forever if I knew what was next. Theresa help me in the end picking out new glasses and teaching me how to properly place and remove contacts. She is so patient, stayed after hours to help me and gave a lot of tips and details about contacts. Just an extremely pleasant woman. Prices were the same that I've always paid with insurance. Hello, This was my first eye check up after my laser operation back home. Since I really have nothing to compare with but I think they were good. Doctor was really nice and he explained all those tests and difference between those tests. People at the reception were friendly enough as well except the main lady whom doctor handed my prescription to. I did not like her attitude and it seemed that she was in some hurry. she also did not give my prescription and other docs until I ask for. Three yearly visits, three pairs of glasses, two years worth of contact lenses, and two point five years later I'm still glad I came here. Dr. Brinley is a very thorough, patient, and helpful optometrist to say the least. You'll feel comfortable and a sense of genuine care as he explains everything that is going on in and around your eyes. He will inform you of any potential risks to the health of your eyes and if he finds any other related health issues during the exam, he will disclose them. This is the MOST important factor when seeing an optometrist. Regardless of how the experience is with the staff, you have to feel like your eye care needs are met. And that's how I feel each time. As for the staff, they have always been helpful and efficient. I do not wait too long here granted my appointments are kept. They are quite willing to help me find the right pair of glasses and are thorough as they take careful notes of my visit for the next time. Options are laid out when choosing frames and lenses and I feel comfortable to making my decisions. What else can you ask for. The most recent pair came and it was fitted perfectly. My old pair was also adjusted. I received my glasses, some microfiber clothes, and a bottle of lens cleaner for free! Sweet! read more
