We have gone to The Smile Center for multiple family members and have always gotten the best care. They treat my son like he is their only patient and I love the fact that we never wait longer then 10 minutes for our appointment. They are efficient, friendly, and personal. They worked with us on payment plans which was very much needed. My son and his health and the issues that bring us to the office are important to them. My first consultation with Dr. Regalado exceeded my expectations. I know very little about dental and corrective care and Dr. Regalado did such a great job explaining why exactly my son needed an expander before braces and what I like most is she never promised a specific length of time it would need to be in. She wanted the focus not to be on the time but on the correction being done right and not rushed. She kept asking me if I had any questions and wanted to make sure I felt secure in the process before we jumped in. It's a lot of money to put towards something and she didn't want us to be blindly handing money over. She wanted us informed and excited! The office is very kid friendly. It has toys and treats and games in the waiting room and the walls have a huge ocean mural that my son loves to look at and points out all the ocean wild life. They also have a great program for kids where with every visit the kids get Smile Dollars and at any point you can bring your Smile Dollars back to the office and exchange them for a prize from the treasure box. My son has been saving up all his dollars to have a great shopping day in the treasure box . My husband has also been a patient of Dr. Regalado's. At the age of 34 my husband decided he needed braces and started wearing Invisalign. We started his process at a different office and felt that he was not getting the personal care or real answers out of the Orthodontist. He was told it would only take 18months to fix his teeth and after 18 months they kept telling him, "just a couple more months." When we switched to The Smile Center Dr. Regalado sat with him in a free consultation and told him they should have never promised him such a short timeline. It took 3 almost 4 years to finally correct his teeth and Dr. Regalado really took personal care and interest in his case. She wanted to make sure he could trust her and the work that was being done. I do not have one negative comment about our experience with The Smile Center. From scheduling appointments, making payments, our free consultations with Dr. Regalado, and our visits in the office has been the best health care office we've ever been to. I have never been to an office that made us feel so personally cared for from both the doctor to her assistants to even her front desk staff. I have raved about this office to friends and on different Facebook posts and thought I'd make it official here on Yelp. Highly recommended!!!

I had a root canal and still ended up losing the tooth a few months later. I know this happens…read more They were friendly and its ok. I was upset that I had the root canal and before I left, I was asked for a $250 co-pay. They were lucky I had it. The lady told me when I called to question it that if I had read the paperwork I signed, I would have seen there was a copay. The "paperwork" was on a tablet and the wifi shut down three time while I was filling it out and had to start from scratch so again, I guess I can say my fault but a simple heads up would have been appreciated. Then I started getting bills for the remainder of the payment which again I had no idea about. The tooth really wasn't that important. I made a payment arrangement and the payments are automatically taken out of my bank monthly. I am still getting demanding statements saying payment due now or face collections and must pay within 30 days to avoid further action. I'm on a payment arrangement!!! What more do you want?? It's just bad customer service. The harassment isnt necessary.

Nicole never returned my calls, and honestly, I don't think she's good at her job or cares much. From the start, I made it clear that no treatment should be done without prior authorization from my insurances. On the day of my appointment, I was told they were doing something I hadn't authorized and my insurance didn't cover, so that was scrapped. We moved on to a plan they said was covered, and I spent hours there getting two crowns replaced--the kind made in-office, so you don't have to come back, which I didn't know beforehand. Afterward, they scheduled me for a cleaning the next day, but I canceled because I was still uncomfortable. That same day, I saw a charge hit my bank for a service I didn't sign for and was supposed to be canceled, with no out-of-pocket cost to me. I received my EOB in the mail for service rendered from my insurance stating that they were not covering the service. I panicked and called; Nicole said she'd submit it to my secondary insurance--but what if I didn't have one? I also noticed the EOB listed scaling/cleaning, which I didn't receive. Nicole said she'd remove it, but then resubmitted it to my secondary insurance after I'd already told her I didn't get my teeth cleaned. Now, months later, I'm still waiting on my refund from July 30th. Where is my refund?

I called Mastroianni Orthodontics and asked if my son was too young to be screened for braces, as I wanted to catch any problems early. The staff members answering the phone were friendly, knowledgeable, and explained to me that most kids should be screened by 9 or 10. So, I was on target. They also explained to me - to my shock and surprise! - that my initial visit, exam and x-ray for the screening was free of charge. Before my appointment the staff sent me informational literature about braces and their office in the mail and entered me into their online system where I was allowed to fill out all of the paperwork for insurance, etc. online. What a godsend to not have to sit in the office and pull out all my insurance cards on a clipboard! Loved that! The day of the appointment I arrived at their offices and was pleased by a bright, modern and cheery decor. My son was immediately put at ease and went to go play in the game room they have for kids. Since I didn't have paperwork to fill out I was able to sit down and relax watching their flat screen television. Most surprisingly to me? We were called in to meet with a technician and the doctor at exactly when our appointment was scheduled. WOW! No waiting around for 30 minutes. I didn't even need to bring the book I had carried along to occupy myself during what I thought would be a long wait. Dr. Mastroianni came in and immediately introduced himself to my son and myself. He put my son at ease asking what grade he was in, what sports he played and if he had any questions for him. My son, who is usually shy around strangers, immediately responded to Dr. Mastroianni and opened right up. To my surprise my son expressed concerns (and excitement) about braces to Dr. Jeff that he hadn't even expressed to me! It was right then and there I knew I was in the right place. As promised, my son was given a thorough exam and x-rays. Even more surprising to me was the doctor's assessment that I should wait a while - and that action wasn't needed at this time. I wasn't "sold" or "scared" by this office. I was told my son's teeth may very well straighten out on their own and to bring him back in 9 months for a follow-up. I cannot say enough how pleased I was with this office. My son was happy and didn't want to leave. He loved Dr. Jeff and was a little disappointed he didn't need braces at this time. The office staff was so nice and made me as a parent feel very comfortable. They didn't talk in "doctor speech" to scare me - they took their time to explain absolutely each thing to me in plain language. I really appreciated that. I would highly recommend Mastroianni Orthodontics and intend on using them should my son need braces.

Then the insurance billing team sent claims to the wrong company despite having photocopies of correct insurance cards. Follow-up a couple months later and reprovidkng correct info... they resubmitted to the wrong insurance companies. Here we are almost a year later and they haven't yet submitted to the correct companies, don't return phone calls in a timely manner ... So, AVOID this provider.

This was surprising because their stated policy is a 48-hour cancellation window. For additional context, I had previously declined to sign their policy regarding fees. I did not confirm via text--but I did show up on time for my appointment and received services as scheduled. Despite that, the office communicated that failure to confirm could result in cancellation and a fee, which does not align with their stated policy and doesn't make sense given that the appointment was ultimately kept and used. This creates an uncomfortable situation as a patient: Policies appear inconsistent (24-hour confirmation vs. 48-hour cancellation) Fees are referenced even when no appointment is missed Expectations are not clearly agreed to The clinical care itself was fine, but the administrative and billing approach makes it hard to trust the process.
