Lovely restaurant in Cherokee Casino. Before being seated I asked about ordering from the kids menu. I'm a senior, didn't want so much food, was told yes, no problem. I ordered the kids lasagna with asparagus. I mentioned 3 times that I was ordering from the kids menu. Other orders at the table were the mushroom ravioli, grilled salmon, kids Mac and cheese and kids chicken tenders. Great reviews of the ravioli, Mac and cheese and chicken fingers. The salmon came with a medley of vegetables. They were very disappointing. My meal came. A huge plate of lasagna, I said this can not be the kids portion. Waitress looks at me with frustration. Oh, I'll check if it's okay that you ordered from the kids menu, we will adjust the pricing. Two other people at the table looked at her in disbelief, they heard me twice say kids portion/menu. Asparagus wasn't just grilled it was burnt, inedible. The lasagna is amazing. Just disappointed with our waitresses attitude as a whole. But would go back again. More good food than bad! read more

Wow, GET the lobster and shrimp fettuccini and you won't regret it! That "light" cream sauce was on point. It was exactly as I imagined from the pic. Saucy, yet creamy, and the lobster was bursting with flavor. I couldn't have had this as a better dish in many other places. I think the chefs, whoever they were, were on point tonight! This was a Wednesday. For my "dessert" I had an espresso martini. Also excellent. I don't give these good reviews lightly, but this place was on point! You won't regret this dish. I WILL get it again! The only drawback @brio is your bread, it's too hard. I couldn't mop up my sauce and clean my plate if I wanted to, which I did! We used to patio dine at Brio's in Charlotte frequently...but so disappointed to see that it was replaced by another Italian joint. Fast forward several years, and I realized that they had this place inside the Harrah's Cherokee Casino...just 3 hours away. We wanted to do a quick tour of Cherokee, NC anyway, so this fit perfectly with our plans. Well, this was a nice, lofty version of Bio in Charlotte (but without the authentic patio dining space...I say "authentic" because they did have a fake patio area lol). The menu seemingly stayed the same...and I ordered one of my old favorites, Pasta Brio...and my husband tried their Lasagna. We also got the Fried Calamari. First of all, this was one of the fanciest presentation of Fried Calamari I've seen...and it was quite tasty too, with a good batter. Loved my pasta too...and so did my husband. The only thing that could have been better was the service. Our waitress wasn't bad (quite perky, in fact)...but she seemed a bit stretched thin. I didn't see too many waitresses. Not sure if it was because it was Sunday, but the casino seemed to be thinly staffed in general. Went to Brio Italian Grille and had a great experience. I ordered the lobster and shrimp fettuccine, my friend had the vodka pasta, and our other two friends got the Brio pasta--everything was delicious and full of flavor. The drinks were great as well. It's located inside Harrah's Hotel and Casino, and there was live music playing, which added to the fun atmosphere. Great vibes overall with friendly, attentive staff. The service and ambience was amazing, as was the delicious food we ordered on a weeknight, during our vacation. My wife "loved" her Grilled Salmon Fresca, while my generous portion of lasagna was spot on! The Shrimp & Eggplant appetizer was to die for and our dessert was scrumptious, as well (they were out of crème brûlée, but the alternative was an excellent choice on our part). The first time I dined at Brio's I was blown away but my most recent visit was disappointing. We had a reservation yet it still took about 25 minutes to be seated. Back in May, I ordered the lobster bisque and truffle risotto, and both dishes were incredible. I ordered the same dishes again a few weeks ago expecting the same quality, but this time everything was subpar. The bisque arrived lukewarm and tasted watered down, like it had been diluted with too much cream or stock. The flavor was flat compared to before. The truffle risotto was extremely dry, and the shrimp were dry & rubbery. I think the kitchen was in a rush and had skipped the final mantecatura step that gives risotto its creamy, glossy texture. I wasn't going to mention it to the server or go through the trouble of sending it back, mostly because we were in a time crunch to watch the football game and I had gotten full off bread. However, the manager came by to check on our table and when I mentioned the difference in quality all he could say is "there's no reason it should be different, it's the same recipe." Considering I only ate about 20% of the dish I felt like it should have been taken off the bill. The photo with side of broccolini is from May when the meal was excellent. We're in the hotel and found several good looking restaurants. We came here last after being at 2 other restaurants for drinks and apps. We ordered drink and our waitress Shelby was super fun and engaging. She made my tequila and pineapple juice shaken with lime was perfect! Asked her for recommendations on the apps. Took her advise and ordered the shrimp and eggplant and a margarita flatbread. At first bite everything was really good. The shrimp and eggplant was a flavor bomb and the flatbread tasty. But as we continued to eat, they were so salty that I needed a lot of water after finishing my drink. Usually restaurant will over salt to get you to drink more. Did not order a meal so no clue on the mains. Drinks good, bartender good. Food could've been better. read more

We had a casino staff member recommend this Italian restaurant to us, so we decided to check them out. Upon our arrival we discovered that they were by reservations only, unless you were to seat at the bar. So we decided to eat dinner at the full service bar, because we didn't have any wait time. We decided to order two pastas, and a couple of drinks. Our pastas came out very fast, but we felt like they were kind of dry. Our overall experience was good and we enjoyed our dining experience. Brio had a very nice atmosphere with okay service. Food was good overall but hit and miss, far below expectations. Have no idea why this place is so popular. Calamari was okay, a bit chewy with tasteless coating. Grilled salmon was overcooked spoiling what could have been a nice entree. Grilled pork chops were thick, but somewhat dry and tasteless. Pasta Brio was cold and the the chicken breast dry with a leather like char. Pasta Alfredo was decent while the lasagne was quite good, cheesy, and flavorful though the Pasta was a bit overcooked. We got there early which worked out to our favor. The closer to 5-6:00, the longer the line & wait. The complimentary sourdough loaf was served warm and was very tasty. The calamari appetizer was lightly battered and fried. It was served with a marinara and a creamy lime sauce. Highly recommend if you like calamari & baby squid. The Lasagna was so creamy and it was a hearty portion. So much so, half went home for the next day! The grilled salmon was perfectly grilled and the veggies (sweet potatoes, red peppers, asparagus & cherry tomatoes) paired well with the balsamic glaze. Feeling indulgent, we ordered the warm chocolate lava cake with vanilla gelato. It was good but not what we were expecting...we'll get the cheesecake next time. We were first timers and this place is huge! We were seated immediately and the ambiance is delightful. You feel like you are outside at a cafe in Italy. I started with a dirty martini which was made perfectly and chilled just right. We started with the spinach dip. We loved the crackers but the dip was bland in flavor and presentation of spinach. I ordered the mushroom ravioli and it pounced with flavor and was wonderful! We also had the risotto but it was average and tasted overcooked based off the texture. It's actually pretty quiet even though multiple seats and it is open windows out to the walkway that goes it. The food. We had calamari as our appetizer. I must admit it was very tough, but the flavor was good. Definitely cooked a little too probably won't get that again. I will say the lemon aïoli sauce was very good. You can't teach common sense or hospitality and unfortunately the manager they having running this place has neither. We asked for two mocktail versions of cocktails on the menu and were charged full price for the cocktail versions. That's $16 for Gin neither of us drank. When the drinks were on our bill the manager said they couldn't be moved off of our check and took $10 off after verbally arguing with us in a rude and condescending tone. This guy should be nowhere near management at a McDonalds let alone a place with these menu prices. Do better Harrahs I know you can, I've seen it. 3/6/26 I received a call a few days after my review from a different manager wanting to hear my side of the story. She said she was going to refund my check for the way the manager disrespected me. It's been a month. I'm assuming nothing will be done now that the establishment has closed its doors. These drinks are available at the bar out front and have a very long line, but not line when ordering from your table, I highly recommend. Table for 2 for Dinner  Wifey booked a reservation through the Total Rewards app for later in the evening. When we arrived at the reserved time, we were seated right away. We kicked things off by ordering a couple of beers and reviewing the food menu. I ordered the Chicken & Spinach Fettuccine, while Wifey opted for the Lobster & Shrimp Fettuccine. The dishes arrived promptly and were delicious. I polished off my plate well before Wifey - it was that good. Wifey commented that the pasta was al dente, which was a positive. She enjoyed the shrimp and tomatoes but wished she had tasted the lobster a little more.  The food, service, and ambiance at Brio were top-notch. This restaurant is located up the escalater from the casino floor. We were on a waiting list but only waited 30 minutes. We ordered two very good appetizers: the Shrimp and Eggplant and the Sausage, Pepperoni, Ricotta flatbread. Both were savory and full of flavor. The flatbread was my favorite dish of the afternoon. I chose the chopped salad and the Pasta Brio, my friends ordered the Lasagna and the Salmon Fresco. Loved the chop on my salad and the taste was pretty standard. The pasta dish however was so bland. What a huge disappointment. I picked this dish as it was supposed to be a patron favorite...yeah, no. My friend let me have some of her lasagna - it is a huge portion - and it had much more flavor, but we both agreed the flatbread was the best. Our other gal pal really enjoyed her salmon dish, however, she never got her cocktail. The day we were there, the service was so slow and very inattentive. We had to ask another waiter for refills. After two visits this year, the first in February and the second in April, I've been so torn on what score to give Brio. Maybe my review will help sort out why I'm torn! First up, the restaurant is upstairs at the Harrah's casino and has an open air seating design. Great for people watching if that's your thing! First visit JD and I had pretty late reservations and had a table in the middle of the restaurant. We could see the kitchen and all the people passing by. The next visit in April we had early dinner reservations. They walked us in and kept going and going. We thought where in the blankety blank are they taking us. We ended up behind these gigantic curtains at a section of the restaurant we didn't even realize was for seating. We felt like we were in trouble. Being put in timeout! There was a restaurant full of empty tables, so why in the world are we being hid back here? We felt so weird the entire time and that's all we could talk about. Service was fine both visit, so nothing to report on there. The food. The reason we went back a second time is because of three things. The complimentary sourdough bread. The shrimp and eggplant in black pepper cream sauce. And the margarita flatbread. IMO you can't ever go wrong with a warm fresh bowl of sourdough bread. As you can see in my pictures we ordered the other two dishes both visits! That black pepper cream sauce is something I would bottle up and use all the time. And even outside of tomato season, the margarita flatbread was fresh, seasoned, cheesy, crunchy, and full of flavor. The food. The reason we almost didn't go back a second time. The lobster bisque and all the pasta dishes. After a bad lobster bisque experience downstairs at Ruth's the first night of our February visit, we were excited to see that Brio had it on their menu. The server brought the bowl out and I instantly looked at JD and asked him if it was a bowl of Velvetta queso! (See picture!) I tried two bites as did JD and we sent it back. It was worse than Ruth's. Frankly it was the worst "bowl of lobster bisque" I've ever come across. First visit we got the Pasta Brio and the lobster and shrimp fettuccine. I believe I read on the menu that they serve homemade pasta. (I might be wrong.). But I thought it was dry/boxed pasta. That's not a terrible thing as long as it's cooked properly and seasoned. This pasta wasn't. Plus on their namesake dish, the Pasta Brio I expected it to be handled with care. But the spinach stems were served and the peppers weren't peeled. The extra steps and attention to details you would expect from a nice Italian restaurant. Same for the other $36 bowl of pasta. I wanted to be wowed but can't be with an under seasoned dish. And the second visit when JD got bland lasagna we knew this was not the pasta place for us. When we retuned at the first of June we did not make Brio reservations. And as we plan for our upcoming visit in August, we will also not be returning to Brio. read more

This is inside Cherokee Harrah's resort. It is upstairs from the casino, so it's a quieter setting. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and looks upscale. Prices are what you would expect. The lasagna was solid and it was a good portion. The salmon fresco was overcooked and therefore a little dry, but the veggies and sauce were good and helped with that. Brio Italian Grille was a fantastic dining experience for us. This Italian restaurant is in the upper level of Harrah's Cherokee Casino, closer to the hotel section and away from the food court area. Reservations are recommended, even for lunch, and just about a necessity for dinner. R and I found out that we could wait in a short line for lunch with seating in the bar area. They could accommodate up to 2 customers per party. We had to wait only 10 minutes in line. There was another line for lunch in the regular dining area, and customers were told that there was going to be at least a 45 minute wait for those without reservations. R and I just wanted food, good Italian food, so eating in the bar area was mighty fine with us if it meant there was a lot shorter wait. We were seated at the bar, and the tall stools were comfortable. All of the stools were spaced out, so each group of two people were able to distance themselves away from others. One of the bartenders, a very funny, quick and efficient employee, was also our server, and we lucked out having her great personality, quick wit and great customer service skills. Throughout our meal, she was constantly refilling our glasses, and many times I didn't even notice. She checked on us a few times just to make sure we had everything we needed. I ordered lasagna and R ordered Pasta Brio, both of which were served within 15 minutes. Before our entrees arrived, our server/bartender brought us a basket of deliciously warm sourdough bread. It was a perfectly baked round loaf - crisp and flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. Our entrees, hot all the way through, were also perfectly seasoned/flavored. My lasagna had a lot of cheese and the right amount of sauce. This entree was mouthwatering and very filling. R said the same of his Pasta Brio. One of the best places to eat at the casino. It's actually outside the casino area so you can bring kids. Very nicely decorated restaurant. Highly recommend the corgonzola crusted beef medallions. Full bar, beer and a decent wine list. Just note, you are at the casino and hotel so expect the prices to be a little higher than elsewhere. Last advice, make a reservation. read more

Well now we know why the food here has gone down hill. Brio is not renewing their lease and they have stopped cooking the food to the standards of the Brio chain. Last night was our last night eating there, they don't close/leave until Feb 16, but the food was absolutely awful. Starting with the bread;which has changed three times in the last few months, it was a brown doughy clump of awful. I cannot even begin to describe how bad the main dishes were. They need to just close and get real cooks and tested recipes back in the kitchen. Huge waste of money and time. read more

I don't think they have recovered from Covid. The food has continued to go down and the prices keep going up. Ate there Monday for my husband's birthday. He had the Shrimp with Alfredo. Less shrimp and the pasta was just bland. Better out of a jar at home. I ordered the Ravioli with brown butter sauce. The sauce I got was some runny cream sauce. Our waiter was quick to make it right but even he said the Chef agreed that it was not brown butter sauce WHAT? And he let it leave the kitchen like that?? Took well over an hour to get the food out of the kitchen and one item of the three another 15 minutes. My chicken masala was awful, two small pieces of chicken breast either cooked well in advance to cooked until it was like eating cardboard. Add to that they charge $6 for peach ice tea and the refill is also another $6 for a total of $12. Not an expeience I would recommend to anyone. I understand that they were understaffed in the kitchen, but please make sure that the food is cooked correctly. read more

We got several plates with our group and the stand outs were the Capaccio (Largest platter we've ever seen) and Grilled Steak Salad. Both Excellent. The Gorgonzola Crusted Beef Medallions at $41 were quite a disappointment. Three small (1/2" x 3") medallions that were over-cooked and chewy. When staying at Cherokee Harrahs there are a lot of restaurant to go too. Me and my friend decided to get Italian. And I am glad I did. The food was honestly way better then I was expecting. And I'm not sure if the waitress forgot to charge us for somethings but the final bill was very cheap. It was $90 for an appetizer which we got calamari, honestly not the greatest. 2 entrees, 2 drinks, 1 glass of wine, an espresso and a coffee. Everything tasted pretty well. This is our favorite restaurant at Harrah's! We have eaten dinner at this location on numerous occasions and always been very pleased. If the restaurant is full, you can order and dine at the bar, or you can always make a reservation. Sourdough bread and butter are presented at the beginning of every dining experience, there is a full bar, a decent wine list (champagne by the glass is limited to just one prosecco, sadly) but the food menu is fantastic. As other diners have mentioned, the beef carpaccio appetizer is nearly a meal in itself, and each entree is large enough to share. We have the carpaccio appetizer every time we go, and on different occasions we have enjoyed the ribeye, cooked to order, the pasta alla vodka, the Brio pasta, the caesar salad, and the tenderloin medallions. I will say the craft cocktails are simply "meh", and the lobster bisque is nothing to rave about - but everything else we have tried has been consistently phenomenal. Food was great. But they need to hire more staff. We had reservations for six thirty, got to the restaurant ten minutes early but didn't get seated until nearly 7 pm. Obviously there were a lot of empty tables but the host said they Did not have enough wait staff or cooks. Waiter took our drink food order right away but food took fort minutes to arrive. Everyone was complaining about the wait times even with reservations. Food is always good, but I think we will avoid it until the staffing is upgraded read more
