We've stayed in Maggie valley twice in the last year and legends is basically the only place we'll eat at. All the food is amazing. Ranch and blue cheese are homemade and the potato skins are the best I've ever had. They do get quite busy at night and sometimes during lunch but the service is still always good! Our favorites are the club sandwich, ribeye sandwich, fried pickles, potato skins (obviously), wings, and the homemade chips! It's a cozy restaurant and kid friendly as well which is a plus for us. read more

As I began my holiday trip, I ventured over to Maggie Valley for a quick, overnight stay. I went to Legends for some wings and a cold beer or two. Legends has a vast selection of local brews and favorites. I enjoyed my wings. Very large, meaty, and not drowned in sauce. I look forward to returning the very near future. read more

We decided to get some lunch on Super Bowl Sunday and was very pleasantly surprised. Best Reuben I have ever tasted as well as a delicious margarita. My husband got a cheeseburger and he said it was very good. The waitress was very sweet and attentive but not too much. We WILL go back. read more

I have never left a review of any kind before but our experience was TERRIBLE! The staff that we saw were incredibly rude. I was served (finally) a warm mixed drink with no ice and I joke not..no liquor, just the mixer. We thought we would try the place under new ownership. I will never walk through the doors again. I think this is kind of an unfair review. You know that hunger feeling when it's 17 degrees outside and you have been tromping around in the snow all day? Most of us would eat a cardboard and bark sandwich. The Good: On a cold snowy day they were open and they had good beer. Two very important things. The atmosphere was pretty good. It is a sports grill after all. They had the required many TVs on the walls and sports grill food. The Bad: The Bad was not their fault but it really didn't work for us. We had a large party and they had a hard time accommodating us. The wait was supposed to be around 10 minutes and it turned out to be 45. The place is small and loud, but again, it is a sports grill. The food was ok - nothing to write home about, although as I said before it could have actually been cardboard and bark sandwiches and we would have eaten them. The Ugly: They gave away our table to another party that came in after we did. I was a little irritated, but decided to calm down at the bar with a good beer. Other people in my party however did not calm down and it greatly affected their experience. Everyone knows that is a no-no, but mistakes do happen. All in all for me it wasn't a terrible or even a bad experience. I would say it was just ok. Small mountain town in North Carolina + cold + snow + lots of people = just an unremarkable experience. If I find myself there again I will probably try someplace else just to see, but if they were the only place open again I would pop back in for sure. They did have good beer after all! read more

This place was it. I am vacationing in NC from Florida and was looking for a place to watch the Dolphins game. There were a lot of TVs and had all NFL games on. The food was fantastic! We ordered wings and they were meaty and delicious! The fried pickles were perfectly friend and not oily. The beer selection was large and the bar staff (we sat at the bar) was friendly and quick on the refills/orders. They made me feel like this was my neighborhood bar! We come here every time we go to Cherokee casino. Love this place. And the food is always awesome

We stopped here for a quick lunch on our way to Cherokee and it was just perfect! They had a great menu, the bathrooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and responsive and the food was all fresh and came out quickly! Even our very picky kids were complimentary. Great burger in size and looks delicious but one you bite it the taste is flavorless. The French fries, and fried pickles are great and the onion rings are to die for. Was right next to our hotel and had far more cars out front as compared to another place nearby. The service was excellent (Savannah) and the food was average in my opinion. From the outside, we were wondering whether this place was any good. We stepped inside and BOOM! Legend's is super clean and welcoming. Tons of beer choices on tap. TVs for every game! Fun local eatery with live music and good food. We were visiting Maggie Valley for ski trip and happened upon Legends. Service was friendly and attentive. I tried this place a couple of times, told myself not to come back, but they have lots of TV's to watch. Food is exactly like another reviewer said.. Meh... Prices are high and very slow to come out. Almost forgot I ordered food the 2nd time I went there. The first time, I sat at the bar, ordered a cocktail (mistake) I could see why everyone else drinks beer there after I looked around. I commented to the bartender that I did not order just a coke, she immediately copped an attitude and mumbled something behind here mask. I could not tell if she was joking or being rude. I rolled with it and did not order thing else, I was not there to drink, which was fine with me. Burger was basic and overcooked, it was .. meh.. ( I like that expression, it sums this place up very well) The 2nd time I ordered a beer. Sat a table, with my luck had the same server. Ran into a friend, so decided to stay and ordered some fries and another beer and forgot I ordered the food it took so long to come out. 2 beers and an order of fries was over 25.00 No vale in that and why does everything come out overcooked and take so long. Same attitude from the server and I asked my friend about the place and server, they said its a crap shoot with the servers there. They only like regulars. Which is funny, when its a tourist town. We were lucky enough to happen upon this place still open at 10pm on Saturday night. Our server was a real delight and effective multitasker. She was our hostess, server and food runner (each server seemed to thrive in the same approach). The food came out in what seemed like no time. The burgers were large, the wings were crispy and perfect. Great service, great food, plenty of tvs with a huge variety of sports to watch, and I would recommend this restaurant 10/10 times. Very, very disappointed. We walked in the door at this place at around 8:45pm. They said they were open until 9pm. A waitress came by and told us that she would be back. She returned and had taken our order a few minute before 9pm and some rude women came from the back and proclaimed that the kitchen was closed. It was not until she told us that we had just walked in at closing time and I informed her that we had been there for almost 15 minutes that she really upset me. A few things crossed my mind like. Why did the waitress not know the kitchen was closed? Does she really think calling your customers liars is the right approach? Does she think after that encounter we would ever spend a dime of our money in this restaurant? This is an excellent choice for the sports fan--and doesn't pub food just pace perfectly with the roar of TV sports events? The sports theme is apparent in the 22 sports-tuned TVs, dozens of sports photos, servers in referee uniforms, shiny wooden bartop and paneling, and ice-filled canoe. Legends has clearly put much thought and effort into making their specialties hearty and memorable. I tried the jalapeno poppers, wings, and two burgers (split with a dining companion, I assure you!). The poppers were very good, though not made fresh in the restaurant. Legends offers 13 flavors of wings, each of which is showcased behind the bar in large bottles resembling motor oil containers. Though the bottles made me think of a racetrack, the taste didn't. Both the garlic and nuclear were potent and finger-licking good. Nuclear--their hottest flavor--was "American hot," bringing tears to the eyes of Americans but not to a native Mexican, Thai, or Indian. The burgers were the most unique menu item. Besides the basic hamburger and cheeseburger (with five choices of cheese) are eight great combos. I tried the wildest: a burger topped with egg salad and one with peanut butter. The burger was excellent--thick and juicy and worth returning for. As much as I enjoy burgers and egg salad and peanut butter, though, I don't think I'll put those flavors together again. Next time I'll settle for the BBQ burger or mountain burger or go wild with the cordon bleu burger. The beer selection was standard macrobrew and wine selection typical-sports-bar weak. read more
