Love this cozy and cute little salon. I came to color my hair for the first time. I was super nervous as I'm very picky about my hair especially cause I have very curly hair. I had read a lot about this place and the different stylists. I really like that they have an active Instagram and Facebook page for every stylist. I could definitely look at their work and get more comfortable with the stylists. I had an appointment with sienna and she immediately knew what to do once I showed her a picture of what I want. I got red balayage and she helped identify the right shade which would make me feel comfortable for first time coloring and still standout for curly hair. I've been putting off getting a haircut because I haven't been able to find a stylist I've liked in the area and always get nervous for haircuts. Her Saturdays are pretty booked (and waitlisted only when I checked), but last minute cancellations happen so I would call / keep an eye on her Instagram. I was able to snag a last minute appointment on a Tuesday afternoon after she posted on her Instagram Stories :) The studio is tucked away in a corner - I missed it the first time. Cute and clean, and was playing good music (a plus!). The receptionist asked me if I wanted water/tea which was also nice. Tara is amazing - she made me feel super comfortable and was thorough when she asked me about how I usually wear my hair, what style I wanted, picking up on little details from the photos I showed her, and did an amazing job. The owner and all the employees I came in contact with were very nice and professional. And after they tried to fix my hair and I was still unhappy, I got my money back. But I think people need to know before coming that this place charges by time instead of by service. I've just never heard of a salon like that. So my total was over $500 + tip by the end! It would have still been worth it if I had gotten the balayage hair I wanted, but it looked nothing like the picture I brought. Sienna is beyond talented and such a life saver! She squeezed me in on the same day within hours of calling for an appointment! My long hair was over processed and in desperate need of some love. She did an amazing color correction, neutralizing a bunch of stubborn brassiness and giving me a more natural, lived in blonde. We also did somewhat of a drastic chop, removing over half a foot of frizzy and damaged split ends. I ended up with one of my favorite hair cuts of all time! I was already one of Emma's clients before she transitioned over to Bristle and Blush and let me tell you - she does wonders that you will walk out satisfied with your results. About Bristle and Blush: It's pretty cool how you can text the salon to schedule an appointment and you would get a reminder notification to confirm your appointment. I felt welcomed by the Bristle and Blush team the moment I walked into the salon, asking me to have a seat while waiting and offered me water. While I was getting my hair done, I was offered drinks and a variety of snacks. Service: My appointment was for hair coloring. I never had purple hair before and I decided to take the plunge. I feel that Emma is part of the reason for the confidence to go bold over the time I would go to her to dye my hair. I showed Emma sample photos of how I wanted the purple hair and it turned out exactly identical from the photo and I was amazed since results may vary. Over time, purple hair doesn't last. I scheduled my next appointment with Emma, but this time I decided to toss some blue and pink streaks to the purple touch up. Since this bold change, it took me awhile to adapt to it. I received compliments everywhere I go and I've given Emma's contact to a number of people who loved it so much to ask. I was really excited to try out Bristle and Blush since there's so many positive reviews on the page. When I came in it turned out there's no warm water and from the words of my hairdresser she knew there was an issue from the day before. I think it's unacceptable not to give the client a heads up that there's no warm water in the salon due to plumbing issues. I could have had an opportunity to reschedule or evaluate this in advance. I had to suck up the ice cold water since I was already there and wanted to get a haircut. At the end of the service I was not deliberately offered a discount for the huge inconvenience - I had to ask for it (I was given 10% off at the end). Besides this, and the biggest issue is that my bangs are completely screwed up and I almost cried at the salon when I saw them. I showed a picture of what they looked like before and my hairdresser proceeded to doing the work without asking any questions about them. She completely thinned them out and I look like a chicken with pinched feathers. So awful.... i don't even know how to style them - they're super uneven and don't stay in place like they used to... Horrible experience and I'm really disappointed with my hair :( read more

First time here and Amelia was great! I called earlier in the afternoon and they were able to fit me in for a same day appointment. I came in without any idea of what I wanted, and she gave me a cute haircut. Layers in the back and a cut that framed my face. She patiently answered all of my questions and gave me tips for dealing with my thin hair. She recommended a couple products (vegan and natural) but wasn't pushy about them, which was good. I got my ash brown balayage done by Kelly Sisco. She was awesome! Super patient and put in the extra effort to make sure my hair was perfect. My hair was taking awhile to tone, but she made sure to go through enough toning to get the brass out of my bleached hair. She also gave me a lot of advice on how to maintain my color and hair health. She informed me that Tara is still working on a client and had offered me a drink while I waited. I was 20 minutes early anyway so I didn't mind waiting. Tara was very welcoming and listened to everything I said. She even gave some input and said that long layers may be better for me. I agreed and I have no regrets. Just had another appointment with Amelia Marques and I highly recommend her for all your hairstyle needs! Amelia is extremely personable and professional. I saw her previously for a haircut and came in with my Pinterest ideas. She told me how to adjust it to suit my fine hair while also staying true to the style I had in mind. I loved the end result and I'm glad she talked me out to trying to exactly duplicate what I thought I wanted. She really knows what she's doing! Today's appointment was a balayage touch up with baby lights. It turned out really well and my appointment was a lot shorter than expected which was a pleasant surprise. I had been going to another salon in South Bay that I wasn't super in love with, and I'd been wanting to give this place a try after my sister-in-law went here! I initially scheduled an appointment with Amelia, but then received a call that day saying she needed to reschedule, which was totally fine! The next day, I got a call from them saying another stylist could accommodate me earlier!! Tara was super great! She was very detail oriented and asked me several questions about my hair and my usual styling! She is probably the only other stylist (besides my hometown one) that is THIS meticulous with my bangs, which I totally appreciate!! They do cost a tad more than the other salon I had been going to, but honestly it's so worth it and I can definitely tell the difference in terms of value, quality, and overall knowledge of the stylists :) read more

It's super hard to find someone as amazing and as trustworthy as Leighann. Booking is easy and convenient here are no extra steps to take, just go online book yourself in. She 100% knows what she's doing and goes above and beyond. I told her within about 7 minutes of her starting my brows for the first time that I had for sure found my permanent brow specialist. As a man it's hard finding a place that isn't honestly geared towards one gender and is understanding of what you need and she gets it right every time. Amelia is the best! She's been doing my hair for a while now and I've always been super happy walking out of the salon (which is in a great location and super cute too!) I have thick, curly hair and kept it really long for years. When it was finally time to cut it short, Amelia was who I trusted to do the job right. And I love it! She's also done fabulous work lightening my hair and keeping it healthy throughout the process. My hair can be a lot to deal with- there's just so much of it, and it can be tough to manage- but Amelia is a perfectionist and always gets it just right. Come See Rachael!!!!!! I don't normally trust anyone to just free hand my hair, but she is like Michelangelo reincarnated. She is quick, very skilled and can execute exactly what you are looking for. My wife started seeing her when she was in Campbell and referred her to me, I also started seeing her while she was in Campbell (which is extremely close to my house and a huge convince factor), but Rachael is so good at what she does, I followed her to this place and I now drive 15 miles to go see her (well worth the drive). It's been a month since Kellie did my hair and I still love it! We opted for a balayage and a trim, and I couldn't be happier. Usually I'm a bit iffy on going lighter because of past mishaps and results from other salons turning out brassy and I'm a lazy sh*t and don't really have the time for properly maintaining a blonde 'do...until Kellie came along. She really turned around my initial reluctance to go lighter and we were able to achieve a nice ashy blonde that hasn't faded much -- if at all -- since my visit at the beginning of July. Not to mention, she's the sweetest hair stylist I've ever had and talked me through the process, what to expect, all that hair stuff while working her magic. Where to start?! Each time I come in, I am increasingly more impressed with how knowledgeable, patient, professional, and insanely talented Rachael is!! I am very curious and interested in what she is doing because I see a focus that artists have when engaging in their passion. Rachael will work miracles with your hair! One of the biggest struggles of moving to a new town is finding someone you trust to cut and style your hair! I was so fortunate to have Rachael recommended to me. She is professional and knows her way with hair. I have always had long hair but she was able to style my hair with a long bob and I absolutely LOVED it! Not only does she do wonderful thorough work, but she is also extremely friendly and passionate about her work. Emma's been my stylist for about 2 years now and she always does an amazing job. I trust her 100% with adding color and dimension to my hair. I always leave happier than when I walk into the salon. Making the trip from SF for an appointment is always worth it. Since Emma mentioned that she had moved to Bristle & Blush, I was excited to see what the new salon would look like. It's such a cool and hip salon. I loved the rustic/industrial interior design and their home-y waiting area. Also loved the use of filament bulbs for lighting/decoration and the shampoo bowl had a really comfortable neck rest too. They use UNITE salon products and they all smell amazing. I couldn't resist buying the grape scented purple shampoo. The other staff members were really nice and friendly too. It was a great way to unwind after a long work week.
