My wife recommended Farin. Went there last week. I was the only one getting a hair cut. Salon was empty. They have reduced salon capacity. Felt pretty safe as Farin took all the precautions- sanitized chair, wore a mask, took my temp, made sure I was wearing the mask throughout the haircut. Entire area was sanitized before and after. Haircut : I didnt give her a whole lot of instructions and she gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Definitely worth driving 30 miles. This is gonna be my go to Salon! A $30 (plus tip) man's haircut should never be primarily clippers. I've been here three times, and this last time (late 2013) I had to stop her from continuing to cut my hair too short using electric clippers. I prefer scissors for layering and/or point cutting. I come in with my hair styled the way that I like. I don't like my hair like this. I'm going to keep searching for the perfect $25 haircut. I can get a clipper cut anywhere at 1/3 the price. I also had to clean up my last haircut at home with my own gear because my hair was now lopsided. read more

I got my eyebrows done here. Though the lady was really nice, customer service was great... quality of eyebrow shaping... meh.. it also took half an hour! The lady threaded about half of my eyebrows, and she was going to wax the rest off before i stopped her, told her i've had a bad experience waxing, and i came for eyebrow threading only. She proceeded to pluck the rest of eyebrows, it took awhile, granted I hadn't kept them up and though embarassing to admit, there was a lot up there lol, but still.. with all the plucking, my eyebrows still didn't come out looking very clean. She shaped them a little with powder to make them look nice, which i totally appreciate.. but overall.. it still didn't have the clean look that I usually get when I get them threaded. Don't think I'd go back again, though the people were super nice. Oh and it was $15 dollars where as other places I've been to are usually $9-12 read more

The yelpers for this business are so accurate! Farin is a hair-cutting artist, has great customer service, and good prices! I'm an easy customer but other salons make it so complicated. I'm clear with the cut I want and I always bring a picture. Regardless, they mess up my hair and it never grows out well. Finally, Farin gave me the bob I've wanted for a long time. This is by far the best haircut I've ever gotten for such a reasonable price. You can tell that she's an expert at what she does. Farin made me feel comfortable and we had some girl-talk going. She asked if I wanted a blow-dry whereas most salons go ahead and blow-dry your hair and add $15! She went ahead anyway because she wanted to make sure the cut was perfect with no strays. Very nice men's cut for a reasonable Bay Area price. It's $30 before tip for a guy. My appointment was on time. She took her time shortening my hair. I got a wash during the middle of my cut - maybe it's because I had gel so I'm not sure if that's standard. After 15 or 20 minutes, we were done and I was happy. Farin is very receptive to your ideas (or concerns). I know this because I wanted two areas shorter after my cut and she had no issues obliging - she had absolutely no issues with this. I wish I could give her six stars for this. NOTE: She works in a salon called Absolute Perfection (maybe there are other words in the title). This threw me off because I drove past it the first time around. The lot isn't big but there were a good number of parking spots. She works with several other people but the good thing is that both are on opposite sides of the room so that you don't get that claustrophobic feeling of seeing other clients in the corner of your eye. read more

She is AMAZING.....greets me with a huge smile and a hug, gives me exactly what I want, and remembers everything about me (kids, job, relationships, etc). Oooo God! Where do I begin! I had an appointment for 6:20pm and I showed up early at around 6:05pm. I spoke with Farin and she said that she was waiting for her 6pm client. I told her I could wait but she said that until that client shows up she can discuss what kind of cut I wanted. It was not much of a discussion. She just suggested a layer cut which I had gotten done like a billion times because I know that suits the best (I have curly hair). And there ended the "discussion". She didnt even have anything more to suggest as to what she could do for my hair. After the "discussion" I thought she was going to wait for her 6pm client to show but instead she started chopping off my hair.... BEFORE washing it!!!! WTF!!!!! She lopped for good 4" of curly hair!!! I mean.. come on!!! I have had haircuts before and not one stylist has ever done that. Then she proceeds to wash my hair. So I assumed that she is going to have her 6pm client wait while she finished working on my hair. But what does she do??? While washing my hair her 6pm client shows up.. so Farin hurries my washing, ties a towel around my wet hair and makes me wait on the couch with a dripping wet hair for good 15 mins.. So professional!!!! Was she going to pay my medical bill if I catch pnemonia!!!?? I waited there with wet hair, she finished coloring the 6pm client's hair. Once she was done with the 6pm client, she starts to cut my hair... And to no surprise she went rogue with my hair because she had to finish cutting before the hair color setting was done on the 6pm client. Now I am stuck half of my hair cut off with the so-called layer-cut (which it is DEFINITELY not!!!) Then comes the payment issue - She has one of those iPhone card reader attachment to charge your card from iPhone. And that thing stopped working. So what does she do?? She keeps swiping my card to no end!!! I dont know how many times she kept swiping my card. I told her while she was ill-treating my card that I will pay cash. She would not listen and she kept swiping my card saying "it will work.. it will work!!". I told her to give me back my card and finally ended up paying in cash. Took an appointment a day before for a haircut; I reached a few minutes early , Farin was out but rushed back in time for the appointment. I asked her about hair color suggestions as I have been getting some gray hair (am not even 30 yet :| )and she recommended just going for the highlights. She gave me a lovely cut and took the pain of covering up the grays with the highlights. She is a delightful person and very patient.
