I wanted to get two O Cedar flip mops at Ace Hardware since I had a 25% off coupon. The website said that this particular store in Bristol had 19 in inventory so we decided to go and get them. I could not get them online since the maximum was ONE mop per transaction. So we stopped at the store and went to the mop and broom section. No O Cedar flip mop to be found...when I asked one of the staff members about the item, I showed her the item on their Ace mobile app and she went on their system to check for inventory...she said, they had none in the store...but the mobile app said they did.... Confusing... She said, I can order from our warehouse and you might be able to pick up next week, I said, yes...so I can use my coupon. When she went to get the special order entered, the system said that they are no longer getting any more of these mops.... Weird how the mobile app inventory and the store inventories do not seem to talk to each other... Unfortunately we left the store empty handed.... read more

We ordered online for sidewalk service after consulting multiple times with Ben via phone. We then placed three different orders and then called to add more. Ben brought everything out to the car and even took two remotes back in to replace the batteries. He was pleasant and friendly throughout this order process complicated by our repeated updates and changes. He is knowledgeable and helpful. RoofMelt, potting soil, paint and pepper spray. You can buy just about anything at this Ace Hardware. They have a good selection of all of your basic and not so basic hardware needs. They may not have as much as one of those warehouse stores, but most likely they will have something that will work for you. The thing that sets this location apart is the employees. I have never been in this store without someone offering assistance. I've gone in here looking for some fairly obscure items and they can easily lead me right to them. This holds true from the full timers to the part-time high schools kids. I've really been impressed with the floor staff here. read more

I typically don't doll out 5 star reviews, but this one is completely warranted! I was in the market for a Big Green Egg and the website pointed me to the Bristol Ace store. I sent an email and was quickly responded to by Ben. He guided me through the pricing and process for getting an Egg. It was great that this location provided me with a .pdf of a flyer with pricing, after taxes, with all of the needed accessories. I went to the location and paid for the Egg and was told it would be delivered on Thursday. Long story short that Ben had to handle the delivery on his own and not with the floor sample, as it had a band that wouldn't tighten properly. Ben spent hours outside in freezing weather putting my Egg together. The next day I noticed that there was smoke coming from the side and the back of the grill....which shouldn't be happening. I reached out to Ben and he was at my house the next day to fix the issue...successfully! Bottom line.....very few things go smoothly. The question is, how will you handle the problems that you encounter. Ben and Ace Bristol really went above and beyond my expectations. After a paint fiasco at another Ace store and needing to rectify the situation after the store had closed (at 3PM !!) I was nervous upon entering the Bristol Ace. But alas, all my fears were calmed and I got what I needed, no issues whatsoever. Friendly, helpful staff and there are always PLENTY of people to help you. Sure, prices can be a bit higher than the big box stores but it's also way less stressful to visit here. They carry Benjamin Moore paints, they've got TONS of lawn and garden care items, electrical, plumbing, lighting...basically everything you'd need for all of your home improvement projects. They also have tool rentals. Generally speaking, I'd say Bristol Ace Hardware is worth the drive. read more

Worst customer service experience I've encountered. I tried to exchange a Husqvarna weed whacker that I purchased 2 days ago only to be told, for the first time, that ACE doesn't accept returns for gas powered machines. Considering I was sold the one that was assembled at ACE and pulled off the wall for me, and after 30 minutes of use the engine struggled terribly, I didn't think taking it for a new part to the service station made any sense. It was a weak product by an otherwise wonderful brand (Husqvarna not ACE), and I tried to purchase the more expensive one but the MANAGER BO TOLD ME HE DIDN'T WANT MY BUSINESS... I've never been more confused and offended at the same time. Bo said I "would just try to return the next one too". Bo, you're bad at your job. You have the customer service skills of an ISIS fighter. I would love the opportunity to continue speaking with an owner, not that embarrassing representation of a manager you have.
