And just like some other tool companies, they have a life time warranty on their brand of tools, which cost way less. For the hobbyist, or home owner, who just needs to have a few tools around, that's a win-win. If it breaks, stop in to any location with your broken tool, and they'll swap it out. Boom, done. I bought a pressure washer at this location at 6:30pm yo use it at night after my store closed, but the washer is a dud, the hose pressure without pressure washer is stronger, i went back the next day because to refund, they gave me a refund but they charged me for "RE-STOCKING FEE". I asked why i am being charge for that fee and i was told because i opened the box???? Seriously??? If i knew the pressure washer is broken i would not open the box!!!! I was told to call the customer hotline to get the "re-stocking fee"... I called them right away, waited 1 hour on the phone to talk to someone, and they told me that they cannot issue a refund!!! So they set me up a "supervisor call" they said they will call within a few days... Its been 2 weeks now since the incident happened, until now i have not heard from anyone... My point here is not about the amount of RE-STOCKING FEE, but this policy should not be applied on item that is broken... This place has every type of grinder, router, polisher, driller or sander that you could possible want. Saws, hammers vices, cramps, gloves or huge millers or massive presses. Every kind of tool or accessory that you could ever want and many that you didn't know you wanted. They even have wheelchairs, canes, walkers, toys, kites and a assortment of unusual things you wouldn't think a store like this would have. I'm not as enthused about this place as most of the other reviewers. Let's just say it's not the mainstay for my tool and equipment buying needs, but rather, a supplement. Don't get me wrong - I'm not a tool snob. I like to save money as much as the next guy. But, depending on what the tool is used for, and how often it's used, sometimes, it's false economy to cheap out on tools. For professional use, especially on a tool I used daily, I would hesitate to buy a tool from here, especially a power or battery operated tool. But for someone who is a weekend/backyard mechanic, like myself, they have a place. I bought a floor jack and jack stands from Harbor Freight, and they've served me well for the past few years. And for some things, like a wire brush or set of pick tools, quality is not critical, so why not save a few bucks? While they have a good selection of general tools, and decent selection of automotive tools, if you are looking for something really specialized (like a pick for removing stuck-on radiator hoses), they will probably not have it (and, in the case of this example, they did not have one). One thing that really annoys me with this place is lack of customer service. I don't know the layout of the store, so I always have to ask an employee where to find a certain item, but, I can hardly ever FIND an employee on the merchandise floor. And, the cashiers seem like they'd rather be anywhere else but here. Another peeve: they have flyers and catalogs with discount coupons, but, those coupons have exclusions in little tiny print. I once wanted to buy an air impact wrench, but did not buy it after I was told it was excluded from the coupon. read more

Received a tool cabinet set as a gift. Upon opening, found the frame bent and dented so badly that the lower drawer and the cabinet door do not open properly, not to mention it looks horrible. I contacted the store and explained the situation. They refused to exchange or return. I explained I was away at work. I was in the south Atlantic ocean working to search for the lost Argentinian submarine Ara San Juan with 44 souls on board and can verify this. By the time I got back the 90 day exchange limit had been exceeded. All they care about was that it was beyond the return window. I'm harboring a lot of resentment over this. No good deed goes unpunished I guess. Now I understand why my friends and coworkers call it "Harbor Fright". I don't plan to shop here again and recommend paying a little extra for higher quality products from competitors with better return policies. read more

I've picked up numerous tools here including my most recent 18 pc wrench set for 12 bucks,52 PC socket set for 12 bucks,and a 12pc star socket set for 10 bucks. I love coming here to increase my tool collection because not only do they have the cheapest prices but LIFETIME WARRANTY!!! Don't even need a receipt!! Amazing! I've been here a lot, mostly because of the coupons for free stuff.. But once I actually started shopping around, I was impressed. Basically, there's a whole lot of tools. It's a pretty big store but certainly not as big as Home Depot or Lowes (a good thing if you're like me and lost in those places anyways). That being said, it really is a tool store. They don't have home improvement type stuff like faucets or switch plates ect. I'm more of a crafter than a person who actually needs tools, so its disappointing when HFT doesn't have something and I have to go to one of those stores. However, when they do have something I need... like say heat shrink tubing, they have a better selection at a cheaper price. The store is a very clean and organized, they offer amazing deals, and have plenty of friendly staff. Lastly, when going in the store or looking through the paper, you'll see some pretty interesting stuff you may not expect. For me, I was ecstatic to get a coupon for a $4.99 pepper spray, I've always wanted some for safety purposes but had no idea where to get one! Harbor Freight is such a guys store but I don't mind running in there when we need some type of tool or something. Everything is priced ridiculously cheap but the products don't seem like junk. You can find tarps, tie downs, security cameras etc. way cheaper then walmart which is hard to believe. This location is great, plenty of parking, close to everything...not to bad. Their web site shows regular guy reviews of each tool or item which I read before buying and find very helpful as well as coupons for discounts and freebies.
