My boyfriend works nearby and has been raving about this place for years, and I finally got to try it recently! I definitely had high expectations, and Maui Teriyaki met every single one of those expectations. The ordering process was easy by phone, and the food was ready quickly. I got the short rib + chicken combo plate, which came on a bed of rice and with salad and macaroni salad on the side. It was delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection. There is tons of parking available in the open lot outside. Also, there is indoor and outdoor seating, but somewhat limited. However, we went at a good time and there were many tables and chairs open. Nevertheless, we took the food back to work and ate outside at a picnic table on-site.

Favorite place paired with a favorite dish? Why not? While settling into the LA area, I see this from the street as wondering what to eat for dinner. It's a small place, but warm and inviting. I was just open to a new experience. Maybe I was misunderstood but I was served in a to-go plate. I ate in the dining room. Wow. The food was amazing. I almost had one of those life pausing moments as I ate. Really well prepared. Nothing to complain about. 4 stars now. Will update as I go back and sample more dishes.

The first time I came here I didn't know what to get. So the young lady suggested the Deluxe Sampler Platter: chicken, beef, ribs, shrimps, rice, green salad & macaroni salad. I was hooked. Today 6/22/24 is my 2nd visit & I got the same thing. The service & ambiance is great. Thank you for the great food. See you next time

Really good chicken teriyaki. I've been going here for the past year. Today I found a piece of wood in my salad. Unacceptable

People who read my reviews know that environmental conscience run the headlines alongside customer service and a great product. I had a chance to chat with the nice lady who owns this store and she told me that the #6 containers they use cost 4 times more than the Styrofoam option and other businesses in areas that have banned the stuff stock up on it and use the excuse that they are "still using up their leftover inventory" to keep using it. But she cares about the ocean and understands that certain materials in food service is carcinogenic. It's so great to meet like minded people even if they still use thin form plastic bags. This clean little shop lives in a large strip mall with a Vons. I picked up two teriyaki chicken bowls to have leftovers. They were pretty good, but I should have held on to the teriyaki sauce she offered me because there isn't enough on the chicken to coat the rice. I appreciate the addition of veggies even if there aren't many. One bowl is enough for one meal for me and I'm not a big eater. Price is about $8 a bowl. Prices are fair considering the extra measures this place takes to offer safe food and I would return if I were in the Lawndale area.

The service is incredible, I have been here a few times at different times of day and the owner is always there she is very friendly and welcoming, the food is just as amazing, fresh ingredient's, tons of flavor, I got the special number one. The shrimp, wantons, and chicken were delicious, the rice is fresh and not clumpy. There also a great variety of bottled drinks. The seating area is perfect plenty of indoor seating as well as a couple outdoor tables. I highly recommend ordering some dine in or takeout.

There was some live music playing outside while we were waiting. The furikake chicken was good. I haven't had this at any other place before. Katsu chicken was nice and crispy. I liked the short ribs here because it isn't as salty as some other Hawaiian food places. The shoyu poke was okay; definitely not something I would order again. The ube cake was delicious! It was very moist and not too sweet. I definitely recommend trying this cake. I don't think waiting 75 minutes for the food is worth it, but I would come back and possibly order online/do take out. They also offer burgers, sandwiches, and poke bowls as well as breakfast dishes. I finally came here for lunch and it wasn't too busy on a Wednesday. Hubby got the Ahi Tuna Poke Salad and it was a generous portion! The ingredients were fresh and the ginger miso dressing was delicious. I got the Chicken Katsu and Fried Chicken Combo, which came with salad, rice and mac salad. The Fried Chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection! So juicy too. The chicken katsu was a bit disappointing though. The chicken was pounded paper thin and the panko crust, although it was crispy and not too oily, separated from the chicken. The sides were pretty average. I heard they also have live music on the weekends and evenings, which is great in their spacious dining area. Love the cute drawings and messages from locals and the collection of ladybugs and lucky cats. I would come back since I work close by. I would definitely get the fried chicken again and try other dishes on their extensive menu. Friendly and efficient service. Free parking lot in the back.
