Instead, one came sickeningly sweet with an unlisted cinnamon syrup, and the other still had a strong cinnamon taste. When we questioned this, the server casually mentioned the cinnamon syrup--something not disclosed on the menu. I had to specifically ask her to take one back rather than her responding promptly. Next, they brought our sushi rolls, but no plates, no soy sauce, and not even dishes for dipping. We had to ask for all those basics. I specifically chose two rolls without cream cheese--because I don't want cream cheese in my sushi--and yet one still had it. The server's response was to chat with a manager but not to offer any solution, compensation, or correction. Overall, if a menu lists certain ingredients, that's what should arrive. Adding things like cinnamon in a drink or cream cheese in a roll--especially when people might have dietary needs--is careless. They need to be more attentive to both the menu and the customer's feedback.

To pay $80 plus for hibachi that was nasty is crazy. 1st the customer service by the waitress was good. She did get our order wrong but she was nice. The cook came out with everyone's order wrong but ours because I went to her and got her to fix ours for before the cook came out. He checked everyone's order and that was the only time he interacted with us. He never even asked if anyone had an allergy . He then proceeded with cooking. He did his thing with the knife and spatula. Then, he spun an egg and put oil around it and lit it. That's where we felt heat. He then proceeded to cook the rice and vegetables. Then, he cooked 1 steak at a time. There were like six orders of steaks, but he cooked them one at time. He used the same knife and spatula to cook every piece of food on the burner. He used the same spatula and knife to dip it in the butter and to serve everyone their food. He cooked steak, chicken, shrimp, rice, and vegetables with the same one. He never wiped it off and never changed his spatula or knife for a different one. The only other trick that he did was stacked two pieces of onions together, put water in it, and it was supposed to be the train that they do... But he allowed it to go for 2.5 seconds then cut it and continued cooking. Everyone at our table were not pleased with the show nor the food. I spoke with the manager and he gave me some food from the back and that was horrible as well. My husband did pay for our food and we gave a tip to our waitress to then come home, and my husband has been sick since then. I did inform the manager of what happened and how disappointed we was with the service of the Cook. Now, I am at home trying to ensure that my husband recovers from what I believe is food poisoning. That was the only thing that we ate that day and he has been sick since then. I hope they can get it together so no one else can experience what we did, but we will never go back to this establishment.

Good thing the lighting was dim. The air was stagnant. Box fans on floor need to be cleaned and put to use. Also, using dining area to store overflow supplies (see pic). If this place is upscale, Waxahachie is in trouble. Secondly, I requested the combo fried rice ($13), which I was told included steak, chicken and shrimp, but was instead served the Hibachi combo dinner ($36), which included the same proteins and less fried rice. I suppose I should have noticed when the waitress asked if I wanted the soup and salad (which I never received, contributing to my confusion), but I dove right in when the food arrived. The food, especially the appetizers of vegetable tempura and gyoza (pan-fried) were tasty and well-prepared, that's why I 'm rating a 2 and not 1. When I received the bill and reported the misunderstanding, as well as the absence of soup/salad, I was merely offered soup/salad to go but chose instead tempura cheesecake (gross). Overall, food was decent, but service and ambiance were horrible. My advice: go to Hibachio down the street, see if you can pay an extra $20 to watch them cook your food, and you'll still come out way ahead.

They had to search for it and then finally after we went through and I showed the order she took it over to the service line where they promptly informed me it would be 20 minutes to make the chicken. I wasn't in a big hurry and the woman who was in the line doing the serving was also very kind and had a nice smile and she make me feel like it was going to be taken care of properly so I waited. You can also tell the person working The Grill on the line was experienced. After about 25 minutes, my food did come out, but my order was wrong. I paid for a substitute to get the salad. I had to go back in and let them know. I was missing the salad. The same girl at the register then handed me a salad with the blue cheese dressing and walked in the opposite direction. I don't recall hearing an apology or anything kind or come back welcoming. Just the opposite. The salad that she handed me was disgusting! It was about halfway full, and most of the lettuce was brown and wilted. there were no carrots. There were no tomatoes. It was just sad. It looked like it had been served and then put back. So I'm sitting in my car and looked at this and decided I spent extra money for this and I wasn't going to accept it. I went back in and let her know that the salad was not appropriate and showed her what it looked like. She immediately threw it into the trashcan, but did not offer to look for one that was fresher when I asked if there was one that looked better. So I stated that I would just take the grilled vegetables. At that point, she said that's going to be another 5 to 7 minutes. At this point, I've been There nearly half an hour between waiting for my order and waiting in line to get my order and then waiting to return things that we're not right in line. So I. told her no, I wasn't gonna wait another 5 to 7 minutes for vegetables when I've been there that long. I started to walk away and then she said well what if I have another salad? She reached in and brought out a perfectly good, nice looking salad the difference was night and day! I have no idea why they served that junk that they handed me the first time. Again, no apology no graciousness. Just handing me the salad. I'm sorry but this place needs management training. Serious management training. The chicken itself was tasty. In fact, it was good, but I have a feeling that the macaroni was too warm as I've had it before. Based on my experience, I don't feel safe coming here in the future. The calamari was good and the sushi was fresh and enjoyable, definitely some of the better sushi I've had south of downtown Dallas. Service was also pretty good. I had a few questions and they were all answered without any issues, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. It wasn't too packed when I went, almost on the slower side for lunch, which honestly made the experience feel very relaxed. It's a really family-oriented, community-run type of place, and I'd actually love to see them get a little more lunch traffic because the quality is there. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it.
