We stopped here on our way out of Dallas. It's a nice little spot to sit down and chill for a bit. They've got a small bar and the rest of the place is filled with booths and tables. Our server was quick and pretty attentive which was nice. The drink menu wasn't anything special. Just your usual mixed drinks with random names thrown on them. The sushi was solid and the poké was all right. It wasn't really what I expected though. It felt more like a poké salad with too much greens and not enough tuna. It still tasted fine, just not my style. I'm also not big on crab or imitation crab, and I couldn't really tell which one they used, but I probably could've done without it. When I think poké, crab isn't exactly what comes to mind. Overall it was a good experience. The food was decent, the prices were fair, and the service was good. Nothing crazy but definitely not bad. Just a solid spot to grab a bite if you're passing through.

To go order: Very quick, friendly, the food was great, I will definitely be back to try lots more. I love that they have a deep fry option on their rolls.

This is a Japanese restaurant that is cater more to None Asian or Japanese because the food they serve is very Americanize. Not saying the taste is bad it's just not Origin from Japan. I wasn't impressed but I was desperate and hungry. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . ( must be inflation ) 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Japanese food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Japan Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Def a great addition to the neighborhood! Love ordering or eating in. I've gotten the ramen bowl, spicy salmon and tuna rolls, and chicken wings. Whether I've ordered in or for delivery, the food was made fresh, always hot and the kitchen was attentive to my requests. I can be pricey but I think it's definitely worth it. The ambiance inside is nice for all occasions. Family friendly as well.

Sushi was great Service was friendly and very pleasant Atmosphere was comfortable. Great place for a date or to take a friend This is the best place to get sushi south of Dallas as far as I know

Fabulous sushi find! The menu features over 20 different sushi rolls ($8-18), a sushi black board special ($20), salads, and appetizers! Enjoying the seafood ramen bowl($14) at dinner which did not disappoint. The broth was rich and done exceptionally well. Full of favor. Hubby and I were craving a poke bowl! And yes, we returned 3 times in the same week. But ordered take out for the poke bowls and 2 sushi rolls. This place is a welcomed addition to Red Oak!

The food was really great, our waitress was very kind and always had our drinks filled. It's a perfect place for a date night. We got a few appetizers and the yakisoba lunch special.

This restaurant has a great ambience, and aesthetic to give you a mini look into the culture that inspires the food. The food, sake and staff were nice.

I had both the ramen & a few sushi hand rolls. Everything was excellent. Tonkatsu Ramen & adding my own level of spice made it perfect.

Instead, one came sickeningly sweet with an unlisted cinnamon syrup, and the other still had a strong cinnamon taste. When we questioned this, the server casually mentioned the cinnamon syrup--something not disclosed on the menu. I had to specifically ask her to take one back rather than her responding promptly. Next, they brought our sushi rolls, but no plates, no soy sauce, and not even dishes for dipping. We had to ask for all those basics. I specifically chose two rolls without cream cheese--because I don't want cream cheese in my sushi--and yet one still had it. The server's response was to chat with a manager but not to offer any solution, compensation, or correction. Overall, if a menu lists certain ingredients, that's what should arrive. Adding things like cinnamon in a drink or cream cheese in a roll--especially when people might have dietary needs--is careless. They need to be more attentive to both the menu and the customer's feedback.

As soon as I walked in, I had a feeling that this was going to be much better than I would expect for a strip mall restaurant. We ordered the pork pot stickers, lamb dry hotpot, and the karage ramen. The pot stickers were perfectly cooked, crispy on the bottom, good chew, and great flavor. The lamb dry hotpot was a kingly meal. The presentation was impressive and the exquisite variety of ingredients made this a meal to remember. The karage ramen was lackluster, I would wager their other ramen options are better. The atmosphere was pretty good and the service was excellent. Overall, if I lived in Waxahachie, I would be a regular here.

It's that type of hole in the wall place that has you knowing it's going to be something. It served a wide variety of Asian dishes from Vietnamese to Japanese to Chinese to Thai, but I wager at its core it's Chinese. We started with the pork potstickers, and they were fantastic. It's hard to find places that cook the outside correctly with crisp on the bottom and chew on top, but Fun did it perfectly. My bf got the lamb dry hot pot, and it looked stellar. He got a lot of food for the money and really enjoyed it. I would recommend if you could handle spice. I tried the Chicken Karaage Ramen, and found it lacking. It tasted like eating pure grease, and though the Karaage was alright, it was weighed down heavily by the broth. The noodles were noticeably homemade, though. Overall, we would recommend coming here.

The space feels intimate and welcoming, the kind of spot where the steam from the bowls fogs up the windows and time slows down just enough to enjoy your meal. The ramen is where Kintaro really shines. The broth is deeply flavored and comforting, rich without feeling heavy, and clearly simmered with care. Every sip feels intentional. The noodles have that perfect bite, springy and substantial, soaking up the broth without going soft. Toppings are generous and well balanced, especially the pork, which is tender and savory and melts into the broth in the best way. What really sells the experience is how everything works together. The warmth of the space, the aroma of the kitchen, and the layered flavors in the bowl create something that feels less like a quick meal and more like a small ritual. It's the kind of place you want to linger, finishing the last drops of broth even when you're already full. Kintaro isn't flashy or overhyped. It's just solid, soulful ramen served in a space that feels like a refuge. If you're craving something comforting and satisfying, this is absolutely the spot.

I am surprised despite the popularity, the wait was not long at all and we were able to get seat almost immediately. For the first time, we ordered 2 appetizers - shrimp tempura and gyoza, not particularly outstanding, but they came out fast! As we were diving into our appetizers, the ramen was ready for us. I had the Spicy Miso Special (with mild spice) and my boyfriend had the Hinodeya special with medium spice. I personally like mine better because it was creamy and super flavorful compared to the Hinodeya special. My boyfriend tends to get stomach ache and fee bloated if he eats too much MSG. But he didn't feel any of those symptoms. To him, it was one of the biggest indicators if that is a good ramen or not. For the second time, we ordered takoyaki and karaage. Again, nothing too outstanding. This time, my boyfriend had what I had last time and I ordered the Tonkatsu special (no pic, sorry!). Maybe because of the lack of spice, I still prefer the Spicy Miso Special over Tonkatsu (Tonkatsu ramen is always my go-to in ramen spots). Regardless, we enjoyed our meals very much in both times.
