I went to Fujiya Ramen for lunch and had a really solid experience. I'd give it an 8/10 overall. I ordered one cocktail, calamari, and a Philadelphia roll. Everything came out pretty quickly, especially the drink, which I appreciated. The calamari was good and the sushi was fresh and enjoyable, definitely some of the better sushi I've had south of downtown Dallas. Service was also pretty good. I had a few questions and they were all answered without any issues, and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. It wasn't too packed when I went, almost on the slower side for lunch, which honestly made the experience feel very relaxed. It's a really family-oriented, community-run type of place, and I'd actually love to see them get a little more lunch traffic because the quality is there. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it. Will not be going back again. This was the 3rd time I went to Fujiya at lunch and my food as either not prepared or came to the table after the rest of the people were done! To clarify I have been here more times in the past, but this is a 3rd strike and you are OUT experience. This time I just ordered a single sushi roll and still no food. Waitress did nothing to try and remediate the issue. I order 1 sushi roll and others at the table ordered multiple, even the hot food came out. We had 13 people at the table with 2 more tables of our group who came after us and still not food! Those tables after us were all served and finished and still my sushi did not arrive at the table. Had to ask them to make it to go and still had to wait! To make it worse the sushi was terrible. I ordered the Godzilla roll, no flavor and it was soggy. I placed a to-go order here recently and was thoroughly impressed! My husband and I both ordered the Big Mouth Rolls, and they definitely lived up to the name. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and they traveled surprisingly well for a takeout order. We stopped here on our way out of Dallas. It's a nice little spot to sit down and chill for a bit. They've got a small bar and the rest of the place is filled with booths and tables. Our server was quick and pretty attentive which was nice. The drink menu wasn't anything special. Just your usual mixed drinks with random names thrown on them. The sushi was solid and the poké was all right. It wasn't really what I expected though. It felt more like a poké salad with too much greens and not enough tuna. It still tasted fine, just not my style. I'm also not big on crab or imitation crab, and I couldn't really tell which one they used, but I probably could've done without it. When I think poké, crab isn't exactly what comes to mind. Overall it was a good experience. The food was decent, the prices were fair, and the service was good. Nothing crazy but definitely not bad. The deco is super cute. Met some friends here for lunch today as it was kind of an in between point for us all. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and spring rolls. The spring rolls were fried, which I wasn't expecting, but were excellent. The entree was also delicious! The restroom was a little dirty, especially on the floors near the walls. And to get to the restroom, you had to walk through this weird curtain where your head hits the cloth unless you duck down to walk under. The hibachi itself was average -- about what you'd expect from a drive-through style spot. For the amount I paid, I honestly could have gone to Benihana and had a much better experience. The bigger issue was the California rolls. I tried to eat them -- I had one tonight but they just weren't good. When I mentioned it, the staff member was nice, but there was no offer to remove them or provide any kind of discount. It was more of an 'oh, okay' response. Great find on a cold chilly evening! We had a big group coming from a paintball tournament in Waxahachie and we're dying to find a local spot to warm our tummies! This place definitely delivered!
