There isn't a store front named "Brite Donuts and Baked Goods." If you want some Brite donuts, you have to go to their sister coffee shop, Metric Coffee. They do charge a 3% surcharge for using a credit card, which is why I deducted one star. The blueberry white peach donut is delicious, but the frosting is super runny. There is parking on Fulton St, but it fills up fast. Even between 7:45-8am, I had trouble finding a spot. read more

Visiting Chicago for Labor Day weekend and on one of the last beautiful days of summer here, I looked up the closest place to get donuts from my Airbnb. If I didn't look at their website in advance, I would have completely looked past the fact that they're sold at Metric Coffee and not their own stand alone storefront. They're known for making small batches of their baked goods, and have a small variety of donuts and pastries. None of them are your straightforward pastry, all of them having an enticing flavor profile; blueberry sweet corn cream donut, croissant pastry with goat cheese maple glaze and almonds to a rose cream puff. It was hard to decide! I did land on the two seasonal donuts that were about to switch out, the blueberry sweet corn donut and the peaches and cream donut. The donut itself was so soft and airy, incredibly moist, and the sweet cream in the blueberry donut was a smooth sweet custard. You can taste the quality based on the individual components of the donut. Definitely recommend checking them out, if I lived in the city I know I would. read more

So I stopped by Metric Coffee to try out the new Brite donuts and pastries. I was surprised by the selection, they had quite a few options. I went with the Earl Grey Sticky Bun, the Carrot Cake Donut, and the pineapple, canadian bacon croissant. The croissant was delicious! Very flavorful. The sticky bun was alright. Not enough cinnamon filling between the layers and on the edge of dry. The carrot cake donut was the biggest let down though. I didn't get carrot cake at all. They had orange gummies on top with a little flavor but the rest just tasted kind of like a greasy fried donut. I think if I went back I would stick with the croissant or try a more traditional donut. read more

I got these donuts from this new place that opened up during COVID and they were so amazing and great that I wrote some feedback to hello@enjoybrite.com "I just wanted to send some feedback that I really loved the donuts I got this past weekend. Didn't try any of the cake donuts since I'm not a huge fan of those so can't speak to those but their yeasty light and fluffy donuts were amazing. When you bite into them it's like a cloud. Very reminiscent of a lot of desserts I ate in Japan so that was great. The puffed grains were so texturally fun. The filling in the lemon black lime apparently is black lime????? It tasted very floral so I wouldn't have expected it to be a lime I'd say it's something more like rose or grapefruit tasting to me. Not sure how blackening lime makes this happen but I'm happy it happened. So delicious. Don't have a picture of the box outside but it's super cute!! And there's a cute sticker with a wolf on it to seal it all up :) love the branding of this place and the curbside pickup service was great too. The guy was giving a box of donuts to someone and was already on the way grabbing my donuts by the time I stopped to call. Super fast. The pick up area is in an unassuming place. We ordered for pick up online through Tock: https://www.exploretock.com/enjoybrite/ The donuts we received were: Horchata, London Fog, Lavender Cold Brew, Chocolate Sprinkle, Champurrado Crueller, Chocolate Thin Mint The family favorites were the Chocolate Thin Mint and the Champurrado Crueller. I also liked the London Fog. The Horchata had a filling that isn't usually something I love, but it was really good (though I would have loved it if the filling was a smaller amount, but I figure I'm in the minority on that). Presentation for each of them was great! Picking up the order was strange as I was to call upon arrival and the donuts would be brought down. I called the number twice and it wasn't picked up, which worried me. But shortly someone called my number back and they handed off the donuts right away! read more

So I am a frequent customer of Metric Coffee (which is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Chicago and possibly ever.) one day I took a chance on grabbing one of their brite pastries, and PTL I did because it was one of the flakiest and buttery biscuit I've ever had. I've gone on to have their ham and cheese pastry (which uses béchamel sauce..drool worthy) and their tomato pesto pastry which is legit some of the best pesto I've ever tasted. I tried some different varieties and didn't taste any of the flavors described. Really expensive as 4 donuts is $18 with a tip and were packed in paper bags instead of a box? To pickup directly from Brite you need to order at least 24 hrs in advance, so we got a 6 pack from Metric Coffee instead. Fun fact - they offer a 15% discount when you buy 6 donuts! We got there Sunday around 11am and there were a few people in line and donuts were almost sold out. All the flavors are great and not overly sweet. The flavor of the blood orange fritter was a little milder than I expected but still delicious and I wish there was more icing on the berry French Toast but I can overlook it because they're all very well made donuts! The donuts and baked goods from here were amazing!!! I waited outside of Metric coffee for more than 30 minutes just to try these and they were absolutely worth it. I got the pumpkin donut, harissa croissant, ham and cheese and formato jam croissant, apple fritter, earl grey cinnamon bun, and raspberry filled donut. All the goodies tasted great but I loved the creative and unique flavors especially. My favorite by far was the earl grey cinnamon bun. The earl grey flavor was so wonderful yet subtle so it wasn't overpowering. The dough itself was incredibly soft and the icing was perfectly applied. I've also never tasted anything like it before so it was an experience. My girlfriend absolutely loved the Harrisa croissant. It had so many spices and interesting flavors in it. She ate the whole thing in less than a minute and she's not really a fan of sweet foods so that tells you how good it was. The next item I loved was the ham and cheese and formato jam croissant. Again, such unique flavor combinations and it was like nothing I had ever eaten before. The mix of sweet and salty was perfectly blended while the croissant itself had such a wonderful texture that was soft and flaky. There was also a decent amount of filling! The pumpkin donut was also very good. The dough was soft and the sprinkles on top added a wonderful crunchy texture to it. The raspberry filled donut had a nice fresh and sour raspberry filling with soft dough as well. The apple fritter was my least favorite item, not because it was bad, but just because it was the most plain and not as unique as the other items. I also got a cranberry pie on the side and loved it as well. The crust was perfectly made and aesthetically pleasing while the filling was fresh and sour. Another great item. Overall though I was highly impressed and can't wait to try the new goodies they come out with! read more

Cold brew cream donut with blueberry glaze was amazing. I'm blown away, and I'm not usually a donut person.

My boyfriend surprised me with donuts from Brite this morning. I've tried A LOT of donuts. I'll go out of my way on trips to try the best bakeries a town has to offer. These donuts are by far the best I've ever tried. The highlights for me were the cold brew cream, pumpkin brown butter hazelnut sage, and very surprisingly for me the jelly donut. I typically do not enjoy jelly donuts, I find the cheap tasting jelly inside repulsive. These jelly donuts are amazing and a must try! Can't wait to try future creations from Brite! read more

I'd never heard of Brite Donuts and Baked Goods, but was searching for last-minute Thanksgiving pies. Placed an order on Monday; picked it up on Thanksgiving day. It's in the middle of nowhere. No one else was waiting outside for someone to bring their order to their car. Clearly this place is the best kept bakery secret in the entire city. I ordered just two pies: apple and pecan. A little pricey at ~$30-35 per pie. But when the quality is exceptional, and there aren't any leftovers, then it's worth every dollar. And that's exactly the case at Brite. No hyperbole on my part when I say that this was the best apple pie I've ever had. In my entire life. Apples sliced thin, cooked perfectly -- with just a little "bite" on them without being undercooked; a bit of chunky applesauce folded in. But those apples. I wish I knew what kind of apples they used because they were delicious. The crust is the kind of crust I've aspired to make for about 50 years. Flaky but substantial. This pie was perfection. And the pecan pie...just as impressive. The quality of this little out-of-the-way place is exceptional. Please do whatever you can to support them...once this pandemic craziness is over, I'm hoping they'll let me inside so I can watch how they achieve this level of deliciousness!
