This is my favorite place for pastries and baked items. It's my go-to spot whenever I'm craving cake. This location also has a seating area with tables, and during the summer they have outdoor seating too. You can pick the items you want on a tray and then go to the counter to place your order. I have ordered birthday cakes for my friends from here many times. One time I forgot to pre-order, but luckily they had cakes available to buy right away, which was really helpful. I was a frequent customer as I live in the neighborhood and loved having a PB so close. Unfortunately the staff seem to be more interested in socializing with each other than providing customer service. Recently, they claimed to not have received my preordered and paid drink order. I was assured that it would be made and to wait a few minutes, no problem, mistakes happen, especially during a rush. I was handed a drink by a worker and rushed to add sweetener and cream as I was already running late to work. A PB Employee then came behind me to snatch the drink out of my hand, despite me telling her oh I've adjusted it to my liking already and SCOLDED me that it wasn't my order, even though her colleague just handed me it 2 min prior. She then continued to say she didn't receive my order despite actually taking my phone and seeing that my order was placed on the app. I've emailed the store hoping to at least get an apology from management or a refund credit and NOTHING. Despite the tasty treats, I will NOT be returning again as a regular patron. Such horrible customer service! read more

So I had to do two of these as they make the perfect lunch or breakfast. My plan will be to eat for lunch tomorrow with a side of Bean Soup. Anyway on to the sweets. For dessert we picked a mini strawberry soft cream cake to share. My husband also grabbed a croissant donut. All in all, it was delicious. The price point was slightly higher than the one inside the Asian market. Quality was good overall and the drink menu was innovative. Definitely a nice cute bakery addition to the this neighborhood. Not only is this place always squeaky clean, every time I stop in the employees are all extremely kind! I can't recommend the chocolate cake or the coffee croissant donut here enough! Run, don't walk! As a donut connoisseur I can tell you this is one of the best donuts I've ever had in my life! It's fluffy, light, crispy on the outside but doughy and soft on the inside. This bakery always seems to find ME wherever I go! I don't understand it! Self serve location located downtown with an array of yummy pastries and to go food in the cold box. You walk in, grab a tray and wax paper and have at it! I got my goodies to go, but I'm pretty sure if you ask nicely the staff will warm your order for you. From savory to sweet, there is something for everyone here. For the past 2 months on our vacation, we come here at least every other day. We found the coffee and cappuccinos to be very good even decaffeinated, which is not always the case. Everything we have eaten from sweets (such cookies, cakes, donuts, etc ) and savory (sandwiches, flatbreads, etc) are very good to excellent. They will even warm up your item if you want. While I didn't love everything I tried (some dessert were just too sweet for me), the variety is extensive and everyone will find at least 1 dessert that they will love. There are many creative items not usually found in all bakeries. See pictures. Please note that there is a cut-off time of when they replenish your favorite dessert, so make sure to come earlier in the day. We have frequented the store after dinner and before they close and found the shelves to be pretty empty. Regardless, we don't go away empty handed and always find a new item we may not have tried. There are long lines during specific rush hours such as mornings and weekends but the checkout process is efficient. Even when busy, the staff makes sure your bake good are well boxed. Obsessed with everything about Paris Baguette! We arrived fairly early for morning coffee and pastries. It was nice and quiet at the time we went. There were plenty of delicious pastries to choose from. We really struggled to pick just 3. I loved that we were able to walk around and serve ourselves whatever we wanted out of the cases. After you choose your goodies, you head up front to pay. We also ordered a couple hot lattes which paired perfectly with our pastries. We picked out a raspberry almond croissant, cream filled donut, and hash brown ham and cheese bread. We really enjoyed everything we tried. My personal favorite was the raspberry almond croissant. I'm posting this review a month late, but I have thought about this fantastic little cafe so many times since our trip to Chicago last month. We stopped by super early on a Sunday morning (about 7:30) to grab some breakfast to go. I had looked at the menu online and was disappointed to see they had a very limited selection ready at that time. We got the following, which they offered to heat for us but we declined since we were not eating them right away. Ham & Cheese Pastry - very light on the ham and cheese, but the pastry had a really good cheesy flavor. Chocolate Croissant - nice chocolate drizzle but again very little chocolate on the inside. Raspberry Almond Croissant - so good. The best of all three. Flaky croissant with good raspberry flavor. Good but not great pastries that have me reminiscing about my trip to France last summer. Stopped by for a nice, casual breakfast, and all the pastries looked delicious. We tried the ham and potato pastry, pain au chocolat, and a twisty donut. We also ordered a vanilla cold brew and a cookie butter iced latte. The staff were kind and asked if we wanted our pastries warmed up, to which we, of course, said yes. Unfortunately, the pastries came out only slightly warm, with the centers still cold. The donut was even tough to chew. The coffees were okay; however, they were a bit too sweet for our taste. This, along with the fact that someone spilled an entire coffee on the floor and no staff came to clean it, brought down our rating. One of my go-to is the Jumbo Twisted Donut. The coffee isn't bad, I've tried a few flavors. I got the Iced Frappe less sweet and it's what you'd expect. Blended coffee with whip cream. I'm not sure what's with the WiFi but it's hit or miss. It didn't feel like connecting for me today so just a heads up if you plan to get work done you might not be able to without a hotspot. read more

Staying at the nearby Loews and wanted to get out of the hotel for a pastry/breakfast sandwich. Wandered a couple blocks and into Paris Baguette on E Illinois Street. Space was bright, clean, well laid out and welcoming and at entry you are greeted with several cases of sweet and savory pastries, along with cookies and muffins plus a small cold area with premade items and drinks. When you get done scoping all the goods. You can head to the small dining space to enjoy your goods. We ended up with a chocolate croissant and ham, egg and cheese pastry. Both were delightful. I decided to pair my pastry with a coffee and unfortunately I was not impressed with the iced coffee. This bakery is so close to the hotel that we are currently staying at, therefore I decided to stop here for bakery treats and coffee to go. There are quite a lot of selections on the bakery items, too many to name. It was not that busy at this time in the morning. The coffee has several options and decent prices. I got a regular brew coffee and a cappuccino coffee. Both taste great, very smooth. As for the desserts, I brought a couple including the pineapple brûlée pastry and a pepperoni pastry because they caught my eyes. The staff here are quick and nice. This place is incredible! A very bright and welcoming environment with delicious pastries and coffee. It's essentially a pick-your-own-pastry type of place with a huge selection of pastries to choose from. I went in the late afternoon, and everything was still incredibly fresh. You grab your own tongs and tray, walk around the store, and select which pastries you want. You then bring your tray up to the checkout counter, where you can also order coffee. Paris Baguette is your fancy neighborhood bakery. I've been to a bunch of their locations throughout the area and I really enjoy the huge selection of baked goods offered. This is a great location with plenty of seats although it can get very packed during certain times, especially on weekends. I've tried a few items from this location and it can be a bit hit or miss in my experience. For example, I've bought their raisin bread loaf but the batch I got one time didn't seem super fresh and I don't recall them putting a sell by date on the packaging. They're constantly bringing out freshly baked products and you can watch their bakers working in the back of the bakery. I'm a fan of their ham and cheese croissant- ask for it to be heated up and eat it right away, it's delicious! I've also tried one of their curry croquettes but mine was under heated and the center was still cold- I'm sure it would've tasted better if it was heated up to the right temperature. They have lots of incredible looking cakes that you can buy by the slice or whole. They always offer a limited edition cake for the holidays, which is pretty neat. I ordered their chocolate cake recently and everyone loved it. The process was easy to do online. However they don't do customized messaging on any of their cakes, so just be aware of that before you order a $50 cake. They also don't offer different sizes for the whole cakes. The chocolate cake came in one size and said it fed up to 8 people but I think it could've easily fed 10-12 people. read more

Was excited to check out this new bakery in the neighborhood, especially from the rave reviews. Upon walking in, you're immediately greeted with endless options of pastries. I wasn't totally sure what to do so I perused around before following the lead of others and grabbed a tray/tongs to make a selection. It was very hard to choose what to try since they had many classics but also unique offerings, both sweet and savory, and even a separate display at the front for cakes and other refrigerated desserts. I noticed most people were filling up their trays, which I didn't understand health-wise but the model certainly seems to encourage "loading up". Anyway, the process is to bring your selection up to the cashier where they will ring you up and bag/box up your goodies if you're taking to go. This is also where you can order drinks, of which they have a full menu of coffee, tea, and smoothies. In terms of pastry quality, the ones I tried were just ok. I would be willing to stop in again and try some different ones, maybe earlier in the day when they're fresher, or a cake for a special occasion. read more
