I have a terrible phobia of dentist from my childhood experiences. I had not been to the dentist in literally 20 years and my dentist had retired since then I was supposed to come back in. And get a root canal and my dentist put a temporary cap over that tooth and told me to come back in after my vacation and have it taken care of. You know, 20 years later and the cap is still on that temporary cap mind you. Like four years ago, I ended up having stage 4 1/2 cervical cancer, which comes with a lot of radiation and chemo and none of it is friendly with your teeth nor is the medication's that dry your mouth out severely. Fast forward 20 years and I had the worst toothache. It was the whole right side of my mouth. My dentist had since Retired but there was still a dentist at that phone number. I feel kind of strange calling him a dentist because he's more of a angel. He was so patient understanding and just generally cares about people. If there was one problem with this, it's only because he made me feel so ridiculous for being afraid of the dentist when he was so gentle, and so not what my brain had wrapped around as a dentist. And it doesn't hurt he is so handsome. But truly, if you have a fear of dentist or even if you don't, this is an awesome office with people that care. I had work done yesterday and last night I received a text checking in to make sure I was OK. This morning, Dr. Ahmedo called himself to make sure I was doing OK and taking my antibiotics. I truly am so thankful that they were there and they took care of me please if you need to awesome dentist to cares about you cares about your pain and suffering this is the guy to go to. I cannot say enough good about this dentist. He's the best I recommend him 100%. And the only reason why he only got five stars is because they won't let you give more. I came in for a veneer consultation, but instead of discussing my teeth or the procedure I was actually interested in, Dr Ahmedo spent most of the time critiquing unrelated aspects of my appearance. I was told I should get rid of my fillers and that I had a "gummy smile" that could be corrected with a laser--something no other provider has ever mentioned to me. The comments felt unnecessary, judgmental, and honestly a bit out of line. I left feeling more self-conscious than informed. Just had a great experience at Brite Smile Dental! I had been putting off going to the dentist, but it feels so good to have clean teeth again and peace of mind that no new cavities came up. Staff was very friendly and Dr. Ahmedo explained some improvements I could make to my routine. Besides cleaning and x-rays, I also had a chip repaired that I had been told about before. Coming from somebody who has been in the Dental field for 14 years. Dr. Ahmedo has not disappointed me. From the front office to the back office, everybody was very kind and friendly. I am always greeted with a smile. Not only is Dr. Ahmedo an excellent dentist, he is also very caring and makes sure that his patients are comfortable 100%. As much as i have helped patients, i have never been comfortable being in the dental chair myself. I've always been afraid of needles and being in a doctors office in general. Dr. Ahmedo is very gentle, especially with the anesthetic! I have only had two visits with them, but they definitely won't be my last. Initially we loved everything about this office, as we only had basic exams and cleanings. My husband had gone to them, so I finally decided to. I had exam, x ray and cleaning. Dr Bashar Ahmedo gave me info regarding dental implants for the 2 teeth I had removed years before. I wanted to pursue my dental implants now. 2 dental implants and bone grafts thru their office cost approximately $4500-5000 with insurance. Insurance pays $1000-1300 of that amount. So it's a big chunk of money! I asked on two different occasions to confirm that my insurance pays a portion (which Maryann confirmed each time with a print out of details) and then planned the procedure around my deductible. I paid my portion of $600 at time of service. A couple weeks after, they call saying my insurance refuses payment. I asked why, the office manager Maryann says our plan changed and implants are not covered. I said, wait a minute, how did my plan change in the last 30 days? She said she didn't know and that I would have to take it up with insurance, but in the meantime I owed an additional $692!! I called insurance, they said no one from that office ever called in my behalf to confirm coverage! And that if they looked it up online without a member ID they would not get detailed info regarding my group plan or that I was even a member! If they used the member ID, tho, coverage would clearly show my plan DID NOT include implants! (Then I never would have had the procedure!!) My plan changed not in the last 30 days, it changed 3 years ago!! When I presented this info, Maryann said they hire a third party company to confirm benefits and that my husband should have notified them 3 years ago that our plan changed. I said how do I know that he didn't tell you and you just didn't update it? Or if we weren't notified of a change and never got new cards, how was I supposed to communicate that? I asked why didn't anyone check my insurance coverage since I was a new patient when I came in the first time just a few weeks or months prior to this? They said the way their system works they don't check details regarding insurance groups under insurance companies, even if several groups exist. She said it's not their responsibility to! I said what did you think I meant when I asked twice if I had coverage for dental implants? And what information were you coming back with verifying for me that I did? They get third party info from a general site that uses no personal identification to verify individual coverage! It's just a generic site that says basically 'this insurance company provides this type of coverage under certain circumstances, but you have to verify the individual coverage by the employee member ID' , which she admitted they never used! Even tho I was a new patient!! She said she was sorry and there was nothing she could do. I said actually there is, you can make the company you hired responsible for my bill or the doctor can waive the fee since this is not my fault. After over a month of arguing, she offered to take $100 off, a meager amount considering I never would have spent a dime getting the service done in the first place if they had actually checked to see if my insurance paid any portion of the procedure!! She then said they fired the third party company realizing their fault and not wanting any future problems for their patients. I said, I'm the one that identified the mistake in your system, why isn't anyone compensating me for revealing this? By your own admission, it's their fault and not mine! She refused any further conversation or adjustment to my bill. I said is this really worth losing 2 clients, thousands of dollars from future procedures, referrals to friends and family and a bad review?! She didn't care. I am filing a formal complaint with the dental board. So now I have a grand total of $1100 bill, with only a halfway done dental implant that I won't be able to complete. I spent $1100 to be disrespected and defrauded. read more

Dr. Basher Ahmedo is fantastic. Very scared to go to dentist because of embarrassment and he reassured me during my visit while giving me honesty on what I needed done. I had to have two bottom wisdom teeth taken out and 2 other teeth with a bone graft. Very scary surgery to do all while under conscious sedation. The day I arrived, I told him that I still feel anxious so he had me take more medicine so I could relax (which delayed our surgery a little bit but he wanted me to be okay). He talked me through every time he was getting a injection. When I felt a lot of pressure and felt pain, he would stop and ask if I am feeling pain and where I felt the pain. Although the procedure isn't the most pleasant overall, Dr. Basher Ahmedo was really professional and attentive. Okay - anyone who knows me, knows I don't have any fears and I pretty much have a high tolerance for pain...Except for toothaches. And wouldn't you know it? My only fear in this world are dentists. The one person who can relieve my worst pain. Ugh. So I made an appointment with Dr. Ahmedo from reading all the yelp reviews (I actually called 3 different docs, but they were the first to respond) The staff's wonderful, very friendly and professional. Background music - old school/hip hop (Yay!) Dr. Ahmedo - great sense of humor, makes you feel relaxed, and he's easy on the eyes (what? I aint gonna lie) I didn't expect to have anything done on my first visit, but my pain threshold was past its limit, so root canal and whatever needed to be done was done. I was gonna opt to extract the molar but he said he could save it, so I went with it. The needles, drilling, whatever else they did were far less painful than the throbbing pain of my exposed nerve so I'm so glad I went. Very positive experience, only negative thing I can think of is - the doc likes house music. But at least he wasn't playing it during my appointment ;) I highly recommend them for general dentistry or if you want that million dollar smile - The man's an artist with some serious skills. Dr. Ahmedo has taken great care of my dental issues over the years. After having an accident in my twenties, I've had plenty of dental work done. He 'inherited' me from the previous owner of the practice. He has done routine cleanings as well as implants and crowns for me. He's joked with me that I could do an implant now that I've had so many (5). He explains what he's doing along the way, is very careful and very close to totally painless. He has tons of experience and rarely needs to send you to another dentist. His office staff is great. They always worked the timing of the various procedures to maximize the insurance payout and minimize my out of pocket. They handled all the insurance company's questions to be sure they pay as expected. If you're looking for a dentist it's hard to find a better one that Dr. Ahmedo. read more

Just went to Dr. Bashar Ahmedo for regular check-up and cleaning. Both the Office Manager (Allie) and my dental hygienist (believe her name was Dee) were friendly and professional. Dr. Bashar was extremely informative about the current state of my teeth (I learned I definitely grind my teeth at night) and provided options to help me preserve the health of my teeth. Based on his calm, assuring, and knowledgeable input, I decided to get a night guard which will be fitted for my teeth/mouth (remember, the goal here is to actually use it). Allie checked with my insurance and I knew exactly how much I would be responsible for at the end of my visit. I also had Dr. Ahmedo fix 3 of my teeth that had missing enamel near the gum line, due to the forces of my teeth grinding (he was the first dentist to explain how this happens and his details were very clear). I was super nervous about getting the numbing shots (I had never had one of those before), but Dr. Ahmedo did a terrific job and all went superb! I always hated going to the dentist so I tended to put it off unless necessary. Had a chipped wisdom tooth, and went in to see Dr Ahmedo after two other consultations. He tells you what you need and what the right thing is to do, not what you want to hear or what may put more money in his pocket. Over the past 6 months, I had three wisdom teeth pulled at once, and experienced much less pain than expected (before or after). I told Dr Ahmedo I wanted my teeth "right" and trusted his judgement. I've never had to have any dental work done on my teeth (never had a cavity), and so it was with some trepidation that I finally had to deal with a cracked molar tooth. Dr. Ahmedo and his staff were very professional, and calming and took extra steps in explaining the process of how to deal with the problem and provide solutions. I was told by a different dentist over 4 years ago that I had a cracked tooth and that I would need a crown and that I needed to deal with the problem or risk losing the tooth eventually. Of course I avoided the problem for four years since it didn't bother me. Now, however, four years later it was causing regular pain (don't procrastinate on dental issues) and the crack now had a cavity. So I went to Dr. Ahmedo to have it finally dealt with. Dr. Ahmedo and his staff took extra care and went the extra mile to provide the best possible solution for the situation. My understanding is that often these types of cases often go straight to a root canal, but they have taken every step to try and avoid that, and save the molar tooth too. I highly recommend Dr. Ahmedo as a dentist. He is very knowledgeable and explained my situation to me clearly, and what the possible options were for solving the problem. This is against Yelp's policies. 2: He told me I had 4 cavities that needed to be filled, but then I went to another dentist and they said I didn't need them filled. However this office makes you feel welcome and comfortable from the time you check in. I've been going here for about 2 years now. The dental assistants and Dr. Ahmedo are always very nice, explain everything, and are constantly checking if you're in any pain or discomfort. I haven't had any major dental work, just basic cleanings, and fillings for cavities and so far so good. I currently do not have dental insurance, but I feel the prices have been pretty fair for the area and manageable for me. read more
