LOVE themed restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, etc, and this place is very, very themed. Lots of decorations all over the walls and at the bar area. So much to look at. Any time I go to Denver for a conference, I try to make it out here. I went in the middle of the day for lunch and there were a couple tables and people at the bar, but not crazy busy. Staff is informative and friendly. We got the: 1) Chips and Curry: -It's house made fries and curry sauce. -I'm used to Japanese curry, so I'm always a little bit taken aback when the curry has a bit of sweetness to it, but delicious either way. Slightly sweet and savory curry with lots of layered spices to it. Went deliciously with the chips. 2) English Breakfast: -Comes with 2 eggs (your choice for the style), rashers (thick cured pork), bangers (sausage), baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, and we added some black pudding for $2. -Always get English breakfast when you get a chance to. Filling and comforting. Great diversity of textures and savory, salty, and umami flavors. Gotta get the black pudding too. 3) Scotch Egg: -Comes with spicy mustard. -I LOVE scotch eggs. I'm a low key hardboiled egg enjoyer, so the addition of the sausage layer around with the deep fried breadcrumbs and dipped in mustard? Divine. I will always order this when I see it and this was good! 4) Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich: -You get a choice of fries or tots. We got the tots. -It's made with bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, and onion. -It's alike a nice twist and upgrade to a grilled cheese sandwich. Sweetness from honey mustard, saltiness and crispiness from the bacon, juicy tomatoes. Good stuff. Make sure to use the mustard and HP sauce. Good stuff! read more

We tried this place because it was close by and blood sugar was dropping, so we had to move fast. I'm so glad we came here! Our server was so polite and understanding, even though I looked suspicious as hell because I was going through a diabetic episode that nobody explained to him. The food came out quickly and it was so good that I practically ascended on the first bite. And not just because I was low-key about to go home to Jesus. This is now one of my favorite places. I look forward to coming back when I don't have one foot in the grave and one foot on a banana peel. read more

The family was craving fish n chips so we headed to the local pub to see how they stacked up. The bar was busy for a Thursday and despite being staffed by two bar tenders and one cook, service was prompt and friendly. For it being a pub, I was surprised at their respective level of cleanliness. The fish n chips were good and a decent value for what you got. I'd say the slaw left much to be desired but that would be my only critique. The fish was crunchy and crispy on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. The chips were on par with other pub style fries, they reminded me of Vine Street Pub's fries in their seasoning. Overall good experience and good food. A solid 4 out of five. read more

We came for the weekend breakfast - a legit British breakfast. We weren't disappointed. Soccer is life for these folks and we were here for it. We watched part of a few games and cheered teams on. Such a fun morning. Our bartender was friendly and laid back. The bar back was centuries old and the wooden seating areas and murals were the same. Soooo much history here. Way cool. And, on top of that: our breakfast was really tasty. Even though I was a bit nervous to try the black pudding, turns out it was really good. Nothing like I expected. Some folks call it blood pudding as well. You can see why I was worried, haha. Def would recommend and have again. I've been to the British Bulldog over the years and caught a few of the FIFA world cup matches there over the last few weeks. The British Bulldog is a smallish bar with lots of character. It can be overwhelming when the masses of fans show up to watch their football so get there early to get a spot. I'm not fond of the young bartender working there now and hope she's only temporary for the world cup. She seems bored with her job and doesn't care if you are standing around waiting for a drink. The OG bartenders working there kick butt though!!!!! For more fun, wait around after the matches when the local folks come out. Most notably is the squawky older woman that wants a stool to sit on and loudly complains about everything. It just adds to the charm of the British Bulldog. I'll definitely continue going there after the world cup is over. read more

British Bulldog is a divey English pub off of Broadway and Stout St. just on the outskirts of RiNo. To be quite frank, considering I'm in this area all the time I can't believe it's taken me five years to visit. That changed over the weekend, with some strings attached along the way. One bartender on a Friday night. I rolled in late after a work event and was actually pleased with the setting. It wasn't too crowded and it felt very low key. I sat for 5 minutes at the bar before the bartender came back inside from smoking a cigarette. Really? I just have no tolerance for these kinds of things anymore. Am I becoming old and cranky in my 30's?! The best thing this place has going for it are their prices and portions. I ordered the fish and chips and with a big pint of beer and I was pleased what was in front of me. Fish and chips were good, not great. Nice, crispy crunchy exterior, though the fish was dry in the center. The fries were inedible and tasted off. It comes with coleslaw too and it was fine, though not necessary in my humble opinion. The bartender was weird, and safe to assume a little drunk. I planned to have another beer yet decided it was in my best interest to leave. Always a bummer when one person can make or break an experience. I'll also add that though you can find free street parking nearby, that it does get a little sketchy at night in the area. Maybe the British Bulldog had an off night, and maybe it's best to visit on a game day. But I won't be rushing back here considering there are some great English pubs in the city that I already really enjoy. read more

Been here many times. ESB on tap. The bartenders are a little hit or miss, and while it has a definite British pub feel, it is also a bit downtown Denver gritty, and that isn't great ambiance. The Scotch eggs are great while the fish and chips is pretty good. A couple of times the oil seemed old. I don't like they use malt vinegar in their slaw, but that is a personal preference as my friend love it. It is my go-to stop after my monthly hair cut. read more

Love this British Pub. This is the place to watch footy! Came here on a Friday afternoon for some drinks and dinner. Don is such a gem. He gave us great recommendations and did mind to girly girls coming in. The fish and chips were awesome same with the burger! It all came out quickly and soaked up my alcohol. Prices were very fair! Two beers and two drinks were around 50$ including tip. It is a tad divey and dark which I love! But the food and service are way better than a typical "dive bar". The drinks are good, tons on tap. They do have a small outdoor patio as well. On my nights out I will definitely come back here. Overall, 5/5 experience. Highly recommend. Super enjoyable time. read more

After a 9 hour drive back to Denver, we needed a light dinner and to unwind. The British Bulldog, a local Irish pub was just the right place. Plenty of imported beer in bottles and on tap and a kitchen with all the pub favorite dishes. Don was working the bar and the tables and doing a good job keeping everyone served. We ordered a couple Red Speckled Hen beers to start and Fish & Chips and Shepherd's pie for dinner. Everything hit the spot just right. We stopped by in to watch a midweek Manchester United game. The place got full, one only one person running the bar and the dining area. I must stay he handled it pretty well. We ordered a couple of beers, some Buffalo wings and their Bangers & Mash. The wings were good, but pricey for only getting 7 wings. This is the first time I've had Bangers & Mash and really enjoyed the dish. Will definitely be ordering this again next time I'm at a British Pub. Overall I enjoyed my time here. The only issue I had was the lack of singing and chanting. Everyone was quiet here. But that's obviously the the pubs fault. I can definitely see myself returning. read more

This is a great place to watch a soccer game and eat some delicious fish and chips. We stopped in last Friday before a show downtown and grabbed some dinner and a drink before heading to the show. The bartender was the server and he was on it. Great attitude, super nice and thankful for us coming in. I got the fish and chips. the fish was super tender and flaky. great flavor on the breading and piping hot when they came out. A friend got the pub dunk. It was good but the meat lacked a little flavor in my opinion. Great au jus though. My husband got the saag paneer. It was a small serving so he helped me with my fish and chips. I didn't try it but he mentioned it lacked some flavor. The beers were cold and they have a good selection to cover all varieties of tastebuds. I will say if you are looking for some amazing fish and chips, this is the place to hit up for sure. they have one of my favorite in the Denver metro area for sure. read more

I decided to take an adventure and go to lunch at the British Bulldog. It was amazing. I got a club soda and a fish and chips for $12. It was authentic from scratch fish and tater tots. I could have had the chips.., but the tots!The seasoning was spot on. I loved the welcome reception. I've never received my meal faster or fresher. The cod was amazing. And the beer batter was stupendous. These tater tots were seasoned throughout with cheese and finely shredded potatoes. They really looked like scallops. But I would do this again and again, and again! You have to give this place to try. There's plenty of open seating for lunch. And the hospitality is outstanding. The kitchen manager, Shem, was attentive, and really wanted to know what I thought of the food and cared about my experience. Love it! read more

Atmosphere leaves little to be desired, but I'd guess it's more fun at night packed with people watching a soccer match. We ordered a scotch egg, shepherds pie, and fish and chips to split. Everything minus the chips (fries) was SPOT ON. They served some good spicy mustard that complemented the egg, I couldn't stop shoveling shepherds pie into my gob, and I've seriously never had a more buttery soft and delicious piece of fried fish. The chips weren't terrible just nothing exciting. Seemed like standard freezer fare. Some fresh cut potatoes would have gone a long way there. Almost took off a star for the disappointment but the other food made up for it. We'd come back! read more
