I love the waiting area that allows me to keep an eye on my girls during lessons. There's also a safety button to make use kids are on the right side of the door. The instructors work very well with the students. My 3 yo has some anxiety around water. Instructors are able to give her extra attention to help her become more comfortable with the water. You can also tell that everyone has a lot of experience working with very young children. They take pride in what they do.

In the first class, he was scared to go into the water but with their help, he's gotten exponentially better and can even swim some pretty long distances. My 6-month-old at the time also took classes here and did very well. She really loves the water and she'll be back for more classes next semester. But the best part about this school is the staff. They've been so kind and accommodating making sure my children are comfortable and willing to participate on days when they've been nervous or upset. The staff and managers are professional and really care about your children and their safety which is so important when trusting someone with your kids' confidence in an important skill such as swimming. I would absolutely recommend this swim school to anyone and can't wait to see how much more progress my children will make.

It does however take longer than I think it should for them to become strong swimmers. But that's not my issue. The unprofessional manager named Melissa is. Over the years I have politely avoided her whenever possible. I even know of 2 different families that quit this place because of her ridiculous behavior. Just as my little one was finishing up the last of her lessons she had to exit the pool due to an accident by another child in the water. Gross but understandable. What is not understandable is what happened after. My daughter was having a private lesson that I had cashed in 4 of her already paid for makeup lessons. She got about 6 mins of the 1/2 hr lesson. I asked that they re-issue these makeups (since this wasn't our fault). I'm told that's not their policy. Then ok but I would then have to pay the new monthly fee for using my makeups since her enrollment was expiring and we were going to be traveling. You closed the pool during her lesson. Im not saying it's your fault, but it certainly isn't mine. I those were 4 paid for lessons. Swim isn't cheap. I have given this company thousandths of dollars over the years. Why would you make such a big deal out of this? The girls at the front desk and the asst manager all understood my point of view and were super nice as always. The manager however calls me and precede to talk down to me like I am an idiot. Please note this isn't the 1st time she's done this to me. I just took it with a grain of salt the first few times because I've heard her do this to multiple people while there. I'm explaining to her what happened because she had her facts all wrong and she begins yelling at me telling me that "I" have an attitude. What?? The audio was coming in through the car and my husband and I just looked at each other like what on earth? I couldn't get a word in edgewise from that point on and actually asked to speak to Pam (since she's sane and calmer) which only irritated her more. The level of unprofessionalism is off the charts with this woman. She needs therapy, not a job in charge of children. I will never come back nor recommend this place. Such a shame.

Finding affordable summer swimming lessons for kids has become increasingly difficult over the…read moreyears. In the past I have tried to secure a spot at the Flower Mound CAC, but signing up on their website is akin to buying concert tickets. As soon as registration opens you have about a nanosecond to hit the button or you're out of luck. It doesn't help that the pool of lifeguards (pun intended!) keeps shrinking every year resulting in fewer classes. Just as I was ready to give up my search and throw in the towel (pun intended again!) I discovered Lakeside Aquatic Club. Their classes are held year round at the LISD natatorium/Westside Aquatic Center. It's an indoor facility so parents can watch comfortably out of the unforgiving Texas weather. Also, the cost is comparable to the CAC, which is far less than what the local swim schools charge. Students are divided into small groups according to their skill level so they get lots of individual attention. The instructors are experienced and have so much patience with the kids. I also appreciate how quick and concise the communication is. Any time your child advances to the next level by acquiring new skills they will notify you by email the same day. Not only did my son learn a great deal over the summer, he enjoyed every minute of it. I will be happy to enroll him in future classes here, especially without the stress of having to spam the button to be the first in line!

His coach Coach Chrissy is incredible. She's both tough and understanding, and just gets through to these kids. His former coaches Coach Tony and Coach Leslie have all been great as well. We have such supportive families and the kids learn from that! My son swam both club and summer league when we lived up north and neither program compared to what you get from LAC. While the competition can be tough, it's very positive and there is such a great comradely among the kids. In fact, my younger daughter (7) that grew up at pool and said she would never be on a swim team, signed up with LAC in October. She went through the Red and Black teams with Coach Sam. He is perfect for the littles!! She's now in the Bronze group with Coach Leslie and it's so awesome to see her move through the team so quickly with such strong technique. This team is huge but it's an amazing family! As our third swim team experience it knocks the socks off all the others. Thanks LAC for having a great team and great coaches!

Often times people enter the yoga classes late (even up to 20 minutes) after the class has started (and they are not quiet or considerate when they settle themselves in). The workout floor is amply stocked with machines and free weights, there are even sanitization wipe stations scattered throughout the floor to wipe down equipment after use. There are small combination lockers to store your keys, wallet, etc. while you workout, too. If you like this sort of thing, there are a variety of channels on simultaneously across several wall-mounted TVs and the tuned channels are labeled under the TV itself. You can use headphones (wired or wireless I believe) to tune to your preferred channel. I prefer to listen to music on my phone during a workout instead. The rest of the facilities are great, too! Small rooms for classes, childcare facility (hours vary, check the website), pool, chill zone (hangout place with air hockey, fooseball or table tennis, and video games), and when it's warm out, a mini water park outside! The locker rooms are large and have swimsuit spinners to de-wet them quickly. I love having an affordable membership here (for the whole family!) and love bringing my daughter to practice volleyball and basketball in the gym during open gym time.
