I don't really know how the food is at Brix Grill. We went on Saturday November 5 and waited for a table, which was fine. I didn't mind the 20 wait for a table, even though there was four empty tables that could have fit our party size. We waited about 15 more minutes to have our order taken and it was really hard for me to decide, I have some really tough dietary restrictions. The server said she could come back and we didn't see her for another 20 minutes and the margarita that was ordered didn't come...we asked after it...waited another 15 minutes...asked again...waited...asked...finally! A drink for my bosses' hubby. We ordered at 7pm. The appetizer came at a normal time, before the boozy drink though, and the other two in my party said the appetizer was really delicious. Unfortunately, at 8 pm we had to leave, without our food. I paid for the drink, they comped the appetizer. I would have tried to stick it out and get food, but we were promised food "in like 5 minutes" and "they are getting it right it now" and "it is coming" so many times... First walking in to Brix your hopes are definitely high, the ambience is cute, seating can be tight but all around it's adorable. For such a small restaurant, a surplus of waitresses and bussers you'd think the atmosphere would be calm and enjoyable. My partner and I were anxious feeling due to the anxiety radiating off of the servers. Our server was doing the best she could while being talked down to by whom I am assuming was the head server. And then they got our food order wrong, which really isn't a big deal normally but Jesus. The other server had brought us our food and was very pissy when I told her the order was incorrect. When my partner finally got his food the portion size was not even what I would consider child sized. Basically my main complaint is about the staff. Anxiety levels are high. Don't complain if your food is wrong. And if you're going to have a nice quiet breakfast go somewhere else. read more

So unexpected. The streets were quiet, the town kind of sleepy, but the restaurant was excellent. With the mirrored out windows, we almost didn't enter. Thank goodness I opened the door. The bustling atmosphere and positive vibes pulled us in. 3 kids, 2 adults - we needed family friendly, but didn't want a chain restaurant. This place had great things for the kids, but also had great items for the adults! The kids ordered burgers while we had steamed clams and blue cheese/Gorgonzola/candied walnut mixed salad. Hubby had an ale, while I drank a blackberry hard cider. It was very good and the service was excellent! Would recommend this place to any out of towners looking for a good place to eat. read more

This is an awesome restaurant! When we entered the restaurant it was a very hip and relaxing happy vibe. The clientele is a mixed age young adults and older folks like us in our mid 50's. They had live music at the bar so we sat there. The bar serves a full menu after 7 pm. We ordered an appetizer - Chipotle Orange Cauliflower it was heaven! I ordered Petite Sirloin and I added prawns with veggies and brown rice. It was delicious and cooked to perfection! I could have eaten only shrimp. My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi Mango tacos and they were also delicious! We of course had drinks from the bar and again perfect! We could not eat all of our dinner but had to order dessert that we couldn't finish. It was also delicious! They serve breakfast and we will come for breakfast tomorrow. Been here twice for dinner. The service is always great-- very quick and attentive-- but the food has been mediocre both times for the price. Orange Cauliflower is the best appetizer, but otherwise the dinner menu yields mixed results. The pasta bowls were very underwhelming; the Italian sandwich was good, but the sweet potato fries were mediocre. Food might have been great had the server not made a mess of our order. She made a big show of taking a rather complex order with no notes and then forgot stuff. When she brought one of us the incorrect salad, she took both back. Mine was Grilled Shrimp on grilled romaine lettuce. That was taken back and allowed to sit somewhere out of sight. only when the other salad had been prepared was it returned, and by that time, the lettuce was nasty, the prawns were cold and everything was greasy. The entrees were also a little off due to the fact that we had ordered them at the same time, so when there was a delay on the salads, they were finished about a minute after the salads arrived. SHOVE EVERYTHING ON THE TABLE AT ONCE! EAT QUICK , WE HAVE OTHERS WAITING FOR THIS TABLE (is what we felt). When we asked the supervisor woman about the problem, she took a few dollars off of our $100.00+ total. Not enough to ever get me back there. Friends all rave about the food, and it might be good, but the servers have to go back to Denny's where they belong. The food is typical mediocre microwaved sisco prepared food but with high end prices for no reason. I would recommend getting food from the Parrot House or True Kitchen if you want to spend an arm and a leg on a small meal. If you do want some Sisco microwaved cuisine, I recommend skipping straight to a place like Applebee's/Red Robin to get the same thing at a better price. read more

Stopped here on the way from CA to Portland. It was a great choice. The food was amazing, and the server gave a super good recommendation. This place is in a really cool little part of the town too so it's a good atmosphere. There were only a couple things I was disappointed in here. 1: I was under the impression that I would be getting a "super salad" along side my entree. I was really stoked because who wouldn't be?? I quickly found out that our server actually said "soup OR salad?". Just okay. We went there for breakfast and I had the B*E*S*T Bistro. It turned out to be two eggs over easy atop of piece of rye bread with with tomatoes, spinach leaves and a sauce over it. It wasn't spectacular but totally adequate. The country potatoes, however, were't worth eating, The red potatoes hadn't been cooked long enough before frying and were hard. I don't generally eat large meals so I didn't go away hungry, but I would have enjoyed the potatoes had they been done properly. read more
