We went with eight people the other night. We were seated in the new expansion and although it hadn't been fully decorated it was a good place for our group. I think the waitress we had was named Carrie, she was the best server I have had at any restaurant in years. Everybody agreed that our service was absolutely outstanding. Took mom out for a meal here because she just raves about the ribs. Sadly, the ribs were pretty dry. She was disappointed, but said it was only the second time that's happened, so who knows. We also had the steak bits, which were pretty good, but not cooked to the level of doneness that was requested. Also ordered an alcoholic beverage that was actually terrible and not finished. The establishment is fairly small with a bar and several high top tables, a couple low ones and I think a couple of booths. So, it's a bit cramped. You come in one door and wait by the sign to be seated which can take a little bit. For our visit, the people in front of us got their food and were leaving before we got ours. The temperature of the food when we got it indicated to me it had sat for a little bit before being served. Maybe be got a less than stellar experience than normal. read more

To begin with, this restaurant has ZERO ambiance. It reminds me of a cheap breakfast diner. The brand new gal that was serving us was sweet as could be, beyond that this was a total disappointment. We are so glad we did not come here on a night where there is any sort of wait. Fish tacos had what seemed to be great reheated crumbles of fish. And the rice was clumpy and also very much reheated. But the real fail was that my husband ordered the Cajun mac and cheese and it was literally swimming in grease. When he finally decided he just had to say something and ordered something else, it took 25 min for the kitchen to make a club sandwich when there was literally one other table of 4 guests in the entire restaurant. And there was no visit to the table by any manager or such to apologize. Just finally after waiting this length of time and having to ask for it to be put in a to go container, we receive just a sandwich, no fries, and a note on the bill basically that said "no side" apparently because he had eaten the side that cam with the mac. totally bad form. I can always tell what a restaurant is ran like by the way mistakes are handled. We all came home feeling a bit off in our stomachs and said this would not be a restaurant we would return to. My husband and I went for breakfast and we were seated right away. We both ordered a spicy Bloody Mary and they were very good ! For breakfast my husband ordered the country omelette and I ordered the steak bite platter , I asked for med well no blood and when it arrived there wasn't any steak and she came with a plate with the steak bites and they were rare with blood all over the plate so my husband and I traded. I came here for breakfast after an early morning blood test. I've heard about this place and people rave about the breakfast here. We were greeted and picked our table. I chose Biscuits and Gravy because it was touted as the best and my husband ordered the Country Breakfast with choice of bacon, sausage patty or links, hash browns and toast. The Biscuits were massive! There was a large amount of sausage in the gravy, too. The Country Breakfast had a sausage patty that looked about 2/3 lbs. with mild seasoning. The sourdough break was also thick and delicious. The ambiance is nice yet, very casual. The place is small with a bar at one end and tables around the rest. I can imagine it gets packed during the breakfast/brunch rush. Our server Brittany was excellent!! She was professional yet friendly and answered all our questions. The service left a lot to be desired and we waited and were ignored nearly 7 minutes by the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign before anyone acknowledged us--despite plenty of empty tables. Once greeted, we waited longer to be seated. Honestly, it might make more sense to skip the sign and let guests seat themselves. The rest of the service followed the same slow pattern: long gaps between getting menus, drinks, placing our order, and receiving our food. Every once in a while came with a polite but repeated, "Sorry for the wait." The staff seemed busy, but always a step behind. We watched multiple groups give up and leave after not being acknowledged. That said, once the food arrived, it was actually quite good--fresh and flavorful with solid quality. I was offered and given a second plate due to my disappointment with the beans and rice. The second attempt from the kitchen merely repeated my dismay. The beans tasted good but were served at room temperature. The rice seemed like it was msde earlier in the day and left uncovered. It was dry and too chewy. Also it was very peppery. The tacos tasted ok but the shells were dry and brittle, like something off of a store shelf. It was busy and noisy. Bar stool seating for the most part. Virtually impossible for us to sit and then scoot our chairs closer to the table. My partner required my help to unseat. We would go back if we could sit outside and be served. This is not a review on on the food at all. I have frequented Blac n Bleu often and the food is very good . The service has always been on the slower side, but it's usually worth the wait. On August 17th I had a good friend visiting from out of town and I was excited to share this restaurant with her. We arrived for lunch around 1:00, there were 3 empty tables that just needed to be cleared. We stood at the "wait to be seated" sign for 10 minutes. Not one of the 3 staff persons we saw even acknowledged we were there. Not a "we'll be right with you", "thank for waiting" , NOTHING. Beyond embarrassed and knowing theres no way the food would be good enough to to make up for this, we left. Ended up stopping at Lehne Farmstand and enjoyed some live music and a delightful lunch. read more

Very generous serving and the fish was delicious. He said the black beans needed seasoning and I agree. Kinda tasteless. Salt, pepper, and hot sauce helped. Me: street tacos appetizer with pork carnitas and a house salad. The tacos we're good but, also, needed a little extra seasoning. The house salad...had I known it was spring lettuce I wouldn't have ordered. I find it hard to get it on my fork and into my mouth. It feels "sprig-y." It had 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 pieces of paper thin cucumber, and a bunch of croutons that my hubby ate. How about a couple black olives, peppers, and/or onions for $7.50. The ambiance is OK. Noisy but there isn't any loud music playing so conversation can be heard. One suggestion: I know there are requirement for the number of restrooms per customer number and I'm sure the one women's and one men's meets that requirement. However, if there is someone taking a looooong time, it makes it really uncomfortable when one can't "go" or wash hands. Wish there could be additional potties. My husband and I used to come here regularly for dinner - usually fish or the BBQ ribs for me and a nearly-rare burger for him, all cooked as requested. After an unavoidable hiatus of a few years, I've been back with several friends and relatives and have to report that the food has gone significantly downhill, mainly because it is all very overcooked and dried out. It is a pity, because it is a fun, neighborhood kind of place, but I will no longer be taking guests there. read more

This place, may not be family friendly, with the type of adult language being spoken, when we were there. The food is pretty good and better than most bars & grills, that I have been too. On this occasion, I ordered the Fish & Chips and my wife ordered the Turkey Sandwich. Both were on par and hit the spot, after driving for a couple of hours. Service was pretty good at the beginning, when we arrived. And wait, others come in Wait more still no acknowledgement or even menus. Waitress walks by numerous times and actively looks away from us. She cleans not one but two tables near us refusing to make eye contact. We wait a little more and see another table who came in after us get menus and another one The place isn't super busy about 60, maybe 70% full This is a small place, kinda quaint, but customer service is lacking- even when giving benefit of doubt for staffing issues. We were there 17 minutes and nothing. No acknowledgement, no menu or even a smile. Then it hits us. We are the only two people wearing masks. Not a single server wears a mask. Hey, you don't want my money. No problem. We left and dropped a BIG tip for the next sever at another place. read more

This is a great dining place with a comfortable atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. We have had 2 meals here, the first was excellent the second not so good. Our first visit my husband had the fish tacos and I had the Northwest Wild Steelhead. Both of these were excellent and I would definitely order these again. Our second visit, my husband had the ribs with fries and coleslaw, I had the seafood linguine. The ribs were room temperature and the fries limp and undercooked. The linguine was flavorless, the broth had no flavor and I am pretty sure by the look and texture that the crab was imitation. We would not order these items again.
